Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Astarte · 10/02/2009 20:09

Hey Gruff, feeling any better?
I wouldn't worry about the delivery man, greasy hair or not at least your jamas were well coordinated, that's the main thing

lardybump · 10/02/2009 20:11

Right astarte I have a deal from oxford pram centre for Phil & Teds SPORT Buggy, Double Kit, Cocoon & Double Storm for £354.99 is this good value??? Is it the sport you got???

GruffaloSoldier · 10/02/2009 20:18

LOL Astarte they are v.coordinating.

TBH I am feeling oh so down. DH is away over night and Ive had to tell work I wont be in tomorrow which has really put a spanner in the works as the Dad is going away. I know its bad but the fact is food is still going straight through me so Im trying to limit what Im eating which is making me feel worse, I just have no strength and constant headache. Not to mention that I nearly 31 weeks pg and exhausted anyway. Tomorrow would have been a 10 hour shift. Theres just no way my body is ready to be subjected to that

I think I am also going a little stir crazy from being in the house two days. But I daren't go too far from the loo!

Jeez, I need to pull myself together!

Astarte · 10/02/2009 20:26

That's an excellent deal LB go for it. If Kiddicare didn't get my order (for a sport) then the OPC def would've. They've got a very good rep as well.

Gruff , keep warm, rested and hydrated. It will pass. The guilt is understandable, but you have to look after the LO and yourself. You'll be back on your feet soon

GruffaloSoldier · 10/02/2009 20:33

Thanks Astarte Im going to have a nice warm bath and wash my hair. Im sure feeling crusty is not helping the situation!I'm like some sort of hermit

Astarte · 10/02/2009 20:37

yes, bath sounds good, maybe a face pack or paint nails, assuming you can reach them....I can't

lardybump · 10/02/2009 20:37

I have ordered it in red....... Credit crunch what credit crunch.... Right i need to sell my old one now.....

Thanks Astarte for your help

Gruff sorry you are feeling poorly still. Hope you get better soon but look after yourself and little one...

Glask rest lady and hope you are not put through too much stress

Astarte · 10/02/2009 20:44

I'm off for a coffee and a hobnob or 6!

My mum and dad are coming up after I've had my sweep to take the kids if my cervix is behaving and I'm dilating. I have to ring them and let them know what's going on. My dad answered the phone when I rang them before (he's not one for talking on the phone) and was chatting away excitedly about the baby coming!
They seem more excited about baby no.4 than no.'s 2 or 3, which seems weird. My Pil's seem super excited too, all very odd.

I'm convinced I won't labour whilst the children are in the house, I simply cannot relax enough to encourage the process.

Anyway I waffle....g'night!

lardybump · 10/02/2009 20:49

good night Astarte sending you lots of good vibes.......

GruffaloSoldier · 10/02/2009 20:50

Go for it Astarte have the whole packet! You need to keep energy levels up just in case!
Excitement is good!My parents are very excited even though lots of grandchildren already.

Gnight then!

Hooray for ordering Pand T Lardy!

Starshinetiger · 10/02/2009 20:52

Hi All, long time no post, but last week was pretty full on. I can't believe how much there is to catch up on - do you realise that's half a thread filled in less than a week?!
Astarte - lol and ewww at pant snot. Is all sounding positive for my prediction on your sweepstake to come true (I thought I'd be way overdue the LO's arrival when I put it!)
Kayz - yay for Dec08 girls helping you get to Crufts, for puppy, but am glad you were able to make a decision - am sure the right time will come for you to have a dog.
Glask - sorry to hear about your tough time. Glad DH is being a star and you are able to take the bed rest you need. Shall keep everything positive for you.
Gruff - sorry to hear about your illness. Sounds horrible. While it is really difficult for your charges parents, am sure they would rather you are off than you give it to the girls - we had DS at home with us all week last week 'cos he was ill (so opposite of your situation), but we managed it between us. Hope it passes soon. You are doing the right thing to stay off work.
GYo - yay for mat leave, sounds like you're enjoying it.
Tink - Bracken sounds like she's doing well and yay for DD1's excellent nursery report. You sound like you've taken to having 2 like a duck to water, which makes me feel more positive about the impending arrival.
LB - Yay for P&Ts. Hope that means arguing with DP has subsided. Period pains sound positive for possible arrival - my labour started like that last time round and about 17 hours later, DS was born (I didn't feel like I was in labour all that time I hasten to add!)
NJ - sorry to hear you've had house hit with bugs too. DS had conjunctivitis (among other things) last week and it took a good 6 days for it to go - GP said on day 5 that many parents aren't harsh enough on getting the eye drops (we had fucithalmic) in, so on weekend we got more robust and rewarded him with an ice lolly after - has totally gone now. Hope DS2 is recovering already.
Ses - can imagine how you are feeling is totally normal given your circumstances, but glad to hear the MW appt went well.
Diege - was intrigued to hear about your name - like STT, I had been calling you dee-ayge (as in I imagine a French town) up until now and probably will continue to do so , but am no longer wondering why that's your name! MW mentioned to me this week that breathlessness and dizziness are signs of anaemia - do you have a blood test coming up soon? BTW can't believe you are 21 weeks already - where has that time gone?!
STT - welcome and thanks for keeping us posted on LTE! Am really keeping everything positive for you too.
OhSnap - hope your Mum is okay - looked pretty dramatic. Your DB's unicycling was funy!
Waves to Kooky, IDOB, MinM, Treats and apologies for anyone I've missed.

In last week before mat leave - so much to do by Friday (not least, have someone confirmed to hand over to) - but really glad it has come round. Last week was not ideal lead up to it - bad weather meant I couldn't go on course on Mon/Tues and I worked from home on Mon instead. DS came home mid-morning from CM with what looked like (and was confirmed) as conjunctivitis, was really poorly with it and sicky that night - cue v. little sleep. DH came down with sickness on Tues and stayed at home with DS. I had to be in work because of meetings on, came home early on Weds and was sick too. By Thurs night, DS was having pain weeing, on Friday DH took him to GP, who simply sent off sample but said it was normal - my child screaming in pain when weeing is not normal - cue call to oncall GP on Sat, who was brilliant, prescribed antibiotics over phone and faxed prescription to chemist. DS is better now and just seeing course of antibs through. Such a relief. Tonight for first time in over a week he is asleep in his own bed, having been to toilet before bed, so hopefully won't have an accident - have promised stickers if he stays in his own bed all night - keep fingers crossed! He has never slept in our bed, except to be bf when a baby - is really cute and cuddly to sleep with, but there really isn't room for 3 in our bed! In between all sickness last week, someone slid into our car in car park at work and scraped bumper and then I slipped in lobby at work on Friday (lucky I have elastic ankles from too many injuries playing rugby at uni, so no major damage).

Anyway, this week started more positively - good MW appt on Mon, hb healthy, bump measuring right size and should still be on for homebirth if I keep taking my iron tablets.

Realise long post - sorry, but did want to catch up with you all. Probably won't be back on until after Friday now to post (will of course be checking for news Astarte!) Have a good week all. Well done to those who read all this!

GruffaloSoldier · 10/02/2009 21:25

Hi Star! Well doen on huge catch up!!

Glad that you DS is better now and that your wek has started more positively than last week! Hooray for everything being ok at mw apt and HB oked.

Oh Snap - didnt know your DB was unicyclist - my DH is too. Actually he is a fanatic - there are some pics on my FB. He has unicycled down Snowdon!

lardybump · 10/02/2009 21:30

Star good to here from you... Not long now and you will be a FT MNer....

lardybump · 11/02/2009 07:56

Astarte good luck today hope it works for you this time......

I had such a bad nights sleep... Period type pains got really bad that I thought here we but then I was very sick and woke dd up so spent ages getting her back to sleep only to realise that my pains had stopped.... bugger......

kayzr · 11/02/2009 08:28

Morning! Good to hear from you STAR - great post
Haven't really had time to catch up (apart from Star's post as working on computer till 11 last night. My own fault for taking it easy these last few days!
Morning GYO - sounds like you're making the most of every moment on mat leave
KAYZ, glad you had a better night - makes everything seem better.
LB, sounds like things are slowly starting for you. For your sake, hope the pains return.
ASARTE, hope you're feeling ok today. Any progress to report?
Well have man coming round to do energy efficiency survey this morning which means I can't slum it in PJs and have to give the house a tidy. Not that I mind doing it butnin one of those slobby fried egg andwich moods when I just want to drink coffee and wathcn jeremy kyle .
Hope everyone has more energy than me! Bean seems to have moved up and is nudging against the waistband of my over the bump tights - very odd sensation!

GruffaloSoldier · 11/02/2009 10:34

Morning all,

Got up at 10 am this morning so have had a good sleep! Think I needed it though as I am feeling much brighter today. No diarrhoea yet but feeling a bit crampy in the stomach, just had breakfast so we shall see.

Glad you slept well Kayz

Sorry for bad nigt sleep Lardy

Hooray for being at home and slobbing out Diege, and having a lie-in Gyo!

lastboxoftampons · 11/02/2009 10:54

Morning everyone

Sorry to hear about all the illness and sleepless nights.

DH has been at work until 12-1am last night and the night before and I have trouble sleeping when he's not in the house, so haven't had much sleep myself. Not to mention last night someone rang our bell at 12:30 - I poked my head around the door because I thought maybe DH had forgotten his key. It was some woman and she started to say something and I just shook my head and closed the door Kind of feel bad now, but I had just dozed and wasn't fully awake - and we have gotten a few of those "sorry it's so late, but my electricity ran out and I have no money, kids in the house - I just need a few quid to put on my meter" DH gave someone money the first time, and then it happened again...! Anyway, needless to say, couldn't sleep after that.

Diege · 11/02/2009 11:02

Oh my goodness LBOX I don't blame you for shutting the door! I'm the same as you, can't sleep properly (if at all) when dh is out. This has been a recent thing for me, after the mc - I suppose linked to anxiety - but I can't relax until he's back safe and sound! Are you at work today?GRUFF, sounds like you're over the worst which must be a relief! Take it easy; it can take a while to get back to normal!

tinkisluvingbeingamummyagain · 11/02/2009 11:03

Hi TINKS! Sounds like things are coming together for you. Glad the teats seem to be working, although it's very much hit and miss I found at this stage. Watches sound good - we need links

Diege · 11/02/2009 12:33

Oh meant to add those who have used my nickname (verbally) in the past have pronounced it 'deej', but I'm rather liking the more exotic and sophisticated pronounciation that some of you are using

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 11/02/2009 12:47

Morning Diege/ Tink

Hi Tink- hurray for slower teats being better for bracken...

Diege- i've mentally pronouced your name as
