Hi All, long time no post, but last week was pretty full on. I can't believe how much there is to catch up on - do you realise that's half a thread filled in less than a week?!
Astarte - lol and ewww at pant snot. Is all sounding positive for my prediction on your sweepstake to come true (I thought I'd be way overdue the LO's arrival when I put it!)
Kayz - yay for Dec08 girls helping you get to Crufts, for puppy, but am glad you were able to make a decision - am sure the right time will come for you to have a dog.
Glask - sorry to hear about your tough time. Glad DH is being a star and you are able to take the bed rest you need. Shall keep everything positive for you.
Gruff - sorry to hear about your illness. Sounds horrible. While it is really difficult for your charges parents, am sure they would rather you are off than you give it to the girls - we had DS at home with us all week last week 'cos he was ill (so opposite of your situation), but we managed it between us. Hope it passes soon. You are doing the right thing to stay off work.
GYo - yay for mat leave, sounds like you're enjoying it.
Tink - Bracken sounds like she's doing well and yay for DD1's excellent nursery report. You sound like you've taken to having 2 like a duck to water, which makes me feel more positive about the impending arrival.
LB - Yay for P&Ts. Hope that means arguing with DP has subsided. Period pains sound positive for possible arrival - my labour started like that last time round and about 17 hours later, DS was born (I didn't feel like I was in labour all that time I hasten to add!)
NJ - sorry to hear you've had house hit with bugs too. DS had conjunctivitis (among other things) last week and it took a good 6 days for it to go - GP said on day 5 that many parents aren't harsh enough on getting the eye drops (we had fucithalmic) in, so on weekend we got more robust and rewarded him with an ice lolly after - has totally gone now. Hope DS2 is recovering already.
Ses - can imagine how you are feeling is totally normal given your circumstances, but glad to hear the MW appt went well.
Diege - was intrigued to hear about your name - like STT, I had been calling you dee-ayge (as in I imagine a French town) up until now and probably will continue to do so , but am no longer wondering why that's your name! MW mentioned to me this week that breathlessness and dizziness are signs of anaemia - do you have a blood test coming up soon? BTW can't believe you are 21 weeks already - where has that time gone?!
STT - welcome and thanks for keeping us posted on LTE! Am really keeping everything positive for you too.
OhSnap - hope your Mum is okay - looked pretty dramatic. Your DB's unicycling was funy!
Waves to Kooky, IDOB, MinM, Treats and apologies for anyone I've missed.
In last week before mat leave - so much to do by Friday (not least, have someone confirmed to hand over to) - but really glad it has come round. Last week was not ideal lead up to it - bad weather meant I couldn't go on course on Mon/Tues and I worked from home on Mon instead. DS came home mid-morning from CM with what looked like (and was confirmed) as conjunctivitis, was really poorly with it and sicky that night - cue v. little sleep. DH came down with sickness on Tues and stayed at home with DS. I had to be in work because of meetings on, came home early on Weds and was sick too. By Thurs night, DS was having pain weeing, on Friday DH took him to GP, who simply sent off sample but said it was normal - my child screaming in pain when weeing is not normal - cue call to oncall GP on Sat, who was brilliant, prescribed antibiotics over phone and faxed prescription to chemist. DS is better now and just seeing course of antibs through. Such a relief. Tonight for first time in over a week he is asleep in his own bed, having been to toilet before bed, so hopefully won't have an accident - have promised stickers if he stays in his own bed all night - keep fingers crossed! He has never slept in our bed, except to be bf when a baby - is really cute and cuddly to sleep with, but there really isn't room for 3 in our bed! In between all sickness last week, someone slid into our car in car park at work and scraped bumper and then I slipped in lobby at work on Friday (lucky I have elastic ankles from too many injuries playing rugby at uni, so no major damage).
Anyway, this week started more positively - good MW appt on Mon, hb healthy, bump measuring right size and should still be on for homebirth if I keep taking my iron tablets.
Realise long post - sorry, but did want to catch up with you all. Probably won't be back on until after Friday now to post (will of course be checking for news Astarte!) Have a good week all. Well done to those who read all this!
