scratch it gruff.... sorry not very helpful

lardybump · 09/02/2009 13:17

great minds astarte....

Astarte · 09/02/2009 13:18

sorry LBOT missed that bit of your post too.

With my first pg it was about 20 weeks and felt like a fluttering of a butterflies wings, very localised and brief.
By 22 weeks though it was a much more defined feeling.

With subsequent pg's you tend to feel movement earlier.

Astarte · 09/02/2009 13:26

I'm having jacket tatties and cheese for lunch, what's everyone else had?

Kids are playing on wii, having had lunch and completed all their work for the day.

Hi everyone, been awol most of last week as I don't seem to have stopped really. Been busy everyday, no chance of getting bored!

Did read the thread but have promptly forgotten most of it!!

Kay - sorry to here about all your problems with the dog, I'm sure you made the right decision for your family.

Cosmos - sorry to hear you are really suffering again.

Gyo/Gruf - meet up sounds good, either Farnham or Guildford.

Ummm, know there was more to say... Oh well, hi to everyone else.

Oh and I had cheese on toast for lunch, is the food of gods, mmm.

lastboxoftampons · 09/02/2009 13:34

Gruff - luckily you're at home and can scratch all you like Whenever I'm at work I try to do that nonchalant scratch/rub with the inside of my wrist - not very convincing!

thanks on the movement Astarte and Ses - I find this part really hard - in between scans and not feeling anything! Hopefully will hear the heartbeat at mw on Monday, but like I said, I'm not really convinced there's anything in there at the moment!

GruffaloSoldier · 09/02/2009 13:38

LBOT - I felt movements definitely from 16 weeks and DH felt them on outside from 18 weeks. I think this is quite early for first though but my sister was the same. It wasnt that often at first then increased more and more often and became more obvious. It was a funny feeling I cant really describe except the bubbles popping sensation that people tend to say.

GruffaloSoldier · 09/02/2009 13:39

Woah I missed loads there. Need to go catch up again

Astarte · 09/02/2009 13:39

have you got any Camillosan Gruff, that's good for itchy nips?

Hello Playing, how's the M/L going?

Playingthe9monthwait · 09/02/2009 13:43

Hi Astarte, ML is fantastic. Can't believe how quickly last week went. Got a long list of things to do and have barely started! Mind you that's my fault as I keep meeting up with people for coffee and lunch out .

Talking about lists, I do really need to go and actually start some of the things on mine, will pop on again later.

GruffaloSoldier · 09/02/2009 13:46

No I havent Astarte but maybe I should get some. It has been itching like crazy since last night and so I have been itching it loads but now its hot and sore

Your lunches sound nice. I am hungry but not sure if I should eat anything with this botty problem Im waiting for docs to ring as my sis thinks Im allergic to iron tablets as that is what happened to both her and my mum. Trouble is I have a cold too so could jsut be part of that. I need fuel though, Im no good running on empty!

lardybump · 09/02/2009 13:46

right I am off to cuddle up with dd for a while will be back later.....

Astarte · 09/02/2009 13:48

If you're run down Gruff it could be a touch of thrush.

Astarte · 09/02/2009 13:50

Ds2 needs a nap too, so I might snooze with ears open.

4 hours until Dh gets home

later......

idreamofbeanie · 09/02/2009 13:50

I'm officially crazy! I have been feeling sick for 2 weeks (and complained to poor DP all weekend that I couldn't be bothered with another 6 weeks of it). Today I feel better and am getting worried that it's a bad sign. There's just no winning !

GruffaloSoldier · 09/02/2009 13:58

Ok thanks Astarte, I better mention it to the docs. Really cant be bothered to go in the rain dont think phone consultation will be enough though.

Oooh naps sound good. Maybe I will too

IDOB - how many weeks are you now? My sickness was at its worse (nausea only) 6-8 weeks and then got better still around 10 weeks. Everone is different and not feeling sick doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know!)

kayzr · 09/02/2009 15:08

Just got back from seeing the nurse about weight loss. She has said to cut out snacks and to exercise more. The extra exercise I can do, it is the not snacking I think will be hard. I've got to write a food diary and go back in 2 weeks. If I haven't lost much weight then she is going to look at what we have for our main meals.

It is bloody freezing!!!!!!!![shiver smiley]

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 09/02/2009 15:56

I seriously need talking to... spent much to much time doing stuff today. Now my SPD is playing up.. that will teach me...Fortunately tomorrow I?m having shopping/ lunch day with mother/sister so I cant do too much then .

Im just back from having registered with a nursery for Mini Gyo? seems early but seems the good ones need booking way in advance around here.. Seriously shocking amount of money but guess that?s how it goes.. Least we?ve got a place now so we can always change our mind if another option comes up.

Gruff- sorry to hear you are feeling poorly.... if it is the iron tabs, I had similar issue but no way as bad... thought i was a freak as they seem to bung up everyone else!
Hope you are feeling better soon...

LB- Great poem, its got lovely words? Sending you vibes to get things going soon.. maybe the BHs will turn into something a bit more forceful soon
Cosmo- sorry your nausea is worse too? seems to be catching?  maybe from the newbie BFPs!

Kayz- good advice from the nurse there? Sorry you are feeling so down about the puppy. Time for a special batch of brownies to be made and sent direct to you I think (that will distract me from the list!)

Ast- if you are really bored I?d be happy to send you some of my jobs?.

HI Diege- ahhhaa about your nickname? I was pronouncing it very strangely in my head when reading posts? will know now! Hope you can get through the snow drifts to get home! Very amused about the international commuting

Hi NJ glad you got to go shopping..

Hi MinM

LBOT- I didn?t get movements until at least 18wks? I remember being away from home for 2 wks and willing to feel it move before then? was very vague at first and was a while before DH could feel on the outside?

Hope I?ve not missed anything there!

tinkisluvingbeingamummyagain · 09/02/2009 16:12

hi thanks 4 advice re bottle feeding

bracken is a guzzler with her milk! usually has 2 ozs in 5 mins then we wind her usually doesnt burp
if u take her off bottle after 1 oz to wind her wont go back on 2 sleepy!!

got amazon books baby one is interesting

mommyinthemiddle · 09/02/2009 16:18

ok question to all of you.
didn't want to do this but feeling really weird!
Been having breathlessness past few days, more like no room in chest to use lungs effectively, making me feel light headed and occasionally (few times a day) i get black bits floating in vision!
Also more frequent BH's occasionally painful, now have stitch like pain across bottom of bump coming and going, eased off now.
Plus( sorry for long list) i get a sharp stab like pain in bump occasional where i believe placenta to be. Almost like a rip or like some has poked me with a pencil.
I know all sounds odd! You'd think i would know all about this pregnancy lark by now on number 3! Never had any things like this previously.
What do you all think, just regular pregnancy aches, pains and jabs or something more.
I know you are all going to tell me to go get checked out but saw midwife last week and nothing was wrong then.

GruffaloSoldier · 09/02/2009 16:23

Hi there

Kayz - food diary sounds like a good plan.

Gyo - I spoke to my antenatal doc and she thinks I have the norovirus thing that is going around. I have been feeling much worse this afternoon. Yuck! She said if it was iron tablets symptoms would have been much sooner!

Tink - If Bracken is guzzling then Im sure that is a good sign Have you spoken to HV?

My DH should be home any minute - I cant wait to be looked after. I so need a cuddle! [pathetic needy emoticon]

GruffaloSoldier · 09/02/2009 16:29

sorry meant to say - that sounds very organised with nursery Gyo - I cant remember when you had decided to go back to work and whether it was full/part time? [nosy]

Shopping day tomorrow with mum and sister sounds fab, are they local?

x post MITM - can you ring your mw to check/reassurance?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 09/02/2009 16:45

Hi there

Gruff, Im off for 10mths (from now) and then going back full time so felt need to be organised... bet I dont want to go back when the time comes!

MinM- I'd get checked over. I've had the breathless thing (posted a few things in pregnancy section on this) and been told its normal tho it can relate to anaemia. No idea if its related to the sharp pains too.. No harm in being checked if you are worried. I know how awful the breathing thing is, quite scary at times... Think Diege has had a similar thing too.

Im off for a nice long bath to relax We've got a small dvd player... might take it in and watch a film and really relax!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 09/02/2009 16:47

ps - sorry gruff, meant to say bugger about the norovirus... just as well you stayed at home then. Im sure your boss would be less happy if you'd given it all to them!

Get well soon vibes coming over (a very wet) A331

GruffaloSoldier · 09/02/2009 16:54

Thanks Gyo, Yes it is a bit soggy out there today!

10 months is good though and nothing is set in stone! At least you have one less thing to worry about and will have got a nursery you want due to being organised Bath and DVD sounds good.

DH is back now and feel so much the happier - I hate being on my own when Im ill. Plus he is very good at looking after me
