Morning Astarte, LB and GYo!

GYo - what's on your list? Hopefully nice things like catching up on dvds, reading, MN???!! Enjoy!!

LB - sorry you're feeling rough this morning. Hope things have improved with DP?

Astarte - Will be lurking for updates!!

idreamofbeanie · 09/02/2009 09:40

Thanks GYo - that was a very impressive catch up! Enjoy your first day of ML. I'm feeling much better today. I still feel queasy pretty much all day but it's definitely much worse if I'm hungry or tired so the lazy weekend has helped loads plus I'm making sure I have regular snacks.

Kayz - sorry you have had such a stressful time with the new puppy but I'm sure making a quick decision is best for everyone. Hopefully that way no-one gets too attached/settled.

LB- sorry you are feeling poorly. Enjoy your duvet day.

Hi Astarte - hope you are not feeling too impatient! That sounds like a lovely idea for DS2s birthday. I wouldn't even have thought of that. It's going to be lovely to have some experienced mums to chat to if beanie and I make it through the next 7.5 months.

Astarte · 09/02/2009 09:45

Feeling fab tbh

Just have my floors to wash and then my house is officially clean. Might be a small pile of ironing lurking somewhere.

Dh is in panic mode as he's back to work after the weekend.
Sister and mum both rang before 9am this morning

Kids went to PIL on Saturday night as we thought it might've kicked off, but nada, grr!
So their washing is now updated and cases repacked, sitting in hall cupboard (did this at 2.30am this morning).

I'm bored now really.
Rang m/w to see if they wanted to check my bp/urine again today, but they are happy to wait until Wed appt for that, so they can't be too concerned can they?

Anything going on LB?

Yay for officially on M/L GYo

Astarte I wish something would kick off for me.... But no just BH!!!! I am having a S&S at 39+3 and then being induced the following week if nothing. DD was early so mw said she doesn't expect to see me for s&s but I am not getting any symptons at all anymore....

mommyinthemiddle · 09/02/2009 10:04

Just updating the list, going to try and catch up with everyone now

Kay- sorry about the puppy not working out, but making the right decision by not letting anyone getting too attached, hope your ok.

Ohsnap- hope your mum is ok, pictures and story of the whole thing looked quite serious.

Astarte- Happy birthday to your DS today, could he be sharing his birthday by any chance? Any twinges?

Playing and GYO- time to relax and catch up on a good book or too, how does it feel to be ladies of leisure now you are on maternity leave.

Sparkly- CONGRATULATIONS on your BFP, hope you are doing well.

LB- sorry that you are feeling a poorly, hope its nothing serious and passes soon, you have certainly been in for a rough ride recently.

Tink- is see you have resumed your shopping addiction pretty well glad you got your money back from the bank.

Lbot- did i read that you will be returning to the US in the not to distant future? If you need any help with DH's application give me a shout. Visajourney is pretty good for any questions aswell.

Glask- sorry that you are feeling rotten again, hope the migraine has eased and you are taking it easy.

Have i missed anyone? Probably, memory like a goldfish! Really sorry if i have.

So i'm doing well, just feel like a beached whale! Sure i'm going to have a 10lber. Not keen on this snow, well mainly ice round here, been housebound for a few days as DH at work and lethal trying to take 2 kids and a pregnant lady out!
Feeling a little odd lately, think my iron maybe low, have blood test next week.
Spokje to midwife last week about hospital etc and feel a bit better with all my questions answered. Said she will give me a sweep at 39weeks.
Right must put slow cooker on and wash up, put washing on and make a cup of tea. Will be back

GruffaloSoldier · 09/02/2009 10:10

Hi

Im off work - feeling so bad about it as my employer sounded gutted as he has loads of mettings today (Im a nanny) but the fact is I am having horrific diarrhoea and burning up so dont think it was a good idea. Its so hard but dont think I should have gone in. God I could cry!

Hi there Gyo - glad you are enjoying your first day of freedom Farnham/Guildford meetup sounds good. We should def organise it. We can do proper 'event' in Wagoners group on FB!Then any wagoners that can make it can come!

LB and Astarte - you are so nearly there!come on babies dont keep us in any more suspense! Dont make me send the Gruffalo in

Kayz - sorry about puppy but you did the right thing for the puppy and your family.

Ohsnap - would you believe it - my MIL broke a rib on Saturday sledging!LOL it must have been the day for daring grandma's!!

Hello to anyone Ive missed but my head hurts and I need to lie down. And my tummy is making a terrible gurgling sound - yikes!I'll be back in a bit!

Cosmogirl · 09/02/2009 10:17

Hi all,

Sorry very rudely posted my updated list and ran this morning. Bit tricky to post at work these days.

Gruff - sorry to hear you are feeling poorly.

I seem to have had a strong increase in my nausea past week or so. Hasn't progressed back to vomming yet, but intensity of the nausea has definitely upped a level.
Thinking of you Glask - hope you are coping ok... Maybe it is the change in hormone levels and labour nears?....I really hope I go into labour around 38 weeks - don't think I could bear the thought of going two weeks over or something like that.

Enjoy your mat leave GYo. Suppose 14 days isn't too long, but does feel like a lifetime at the moment!

Asarte - for you! We need another arrival soon!

Right best get back to it.

Diege · 09/02/2009 10:22

Hello! Encased in snow drift- surrounded office, which is odd as no snow at home! There again I am an international commuter so should expect different climates

ASARTE, take it easy with your floor cleaning . Am very of ref to 'small plie of ironing'. I am at the stage with mine where I am seriously tempted to place the lot in a charity bag. Take care, and rest up!!

GYO, enjoy your first day of mat leave and don't stress too much about the list . The list will be forever full in a few weeks, and will only serve to torment you...
Oh and if dh doesn't recognise my name it's probable he went to the 'other' school down the road so my secrets are safe
LB, sorry to hear you're unwell, that must be really tough at this stage. Hope you're managing ok
MITM, hope you feel ok - could well be a 'dip' in iron levels at this stage - hopefully you can get some advice when next seeing midwife.
IDOB, glad you're getting a little relief and can control the sickness. I am sooo glad I am past that stage!!
HI SES, love the 'new' name by the way (have just noticed!). I think the thought of Spring really helps to get through these freezing days. That and the thought of the new series of the Apprentice starting then too
KAYZ, agree that best to return dog now if having doubts. You know your family best, and good on you for acting so swifty with what must have been a heartbreaking decision. xx
Apologies for everyone I've missed out. Love to all and catch up later after work

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 09/02/2009 10:25

Gruff - that sounds horrendous! No way you could go to work. Look after yourself.

Hi Cosmo and MinM

Right I'd best make a move off to this pilates class....!

Diege · 09/02/2009 10:25

Hi COSMO, GRUFF! GRUFF, def best decision not to go into work - no doubt about it so stop fretting . Really hope you feel better soon xx
COSMO, can't believe sickness is getting even worse, though for some it does around 30 weeks . You've really had it rough. Take care and get as much rest as you can xx

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 09/02/2009 10:26

Morning Diege - sorry x-posted!
Is The Apprentice due to start again soon??!!! I love it!!! I know they're doing a special for Comic Relief too!

Right I really am going...

GruffaloSoldier · 09/02/2009 10:33

my mum is over @ 1pm today. hoping to get my amazon books today and get my new mobile phone tomorrow it is a nokia is green and white

NatalieJane · 09/02/2009 10:51

Good morning

Kay, echoing everyone really, really sorry it hasn't worked out, it's such a shame for you all.

Ast, ignore what the MW thinks, trust your instincts, if you're happy to wait till Wednesday then fine, if you want it checking before, then get it done. I know the thought of the HWB going out of the window has a big bearing on this but the last thing you want is a MW turning up to you at home and sending you in to hospital. Take it easy - that's an order!

Sorry to all of you with various poorlies We've got it this end as well, DH has another cold, DS2 is still absolutely full of it, his eyes are no better, they are completely stuck when he wakes up, coughing like he's on 80 a day, the AB's and eye drops don't seem to be making a jot of difference, poor little thing, he is coping with it so well as well.

Shopping was a bit hit and miss, I couldn't find a coat, but managed some shoes (even that was a bit of a hard task!) Got most of Mikey's 3-6 month clothes, and one t-shirt for DS1, one t-shirt in the whole of the sodding Trafford Centre Trafford Centre was absolutely packed (credit crunch???? Not in Manchester it seems!) People mulling around chatting, it taking 5 minutes to get to a shop 6ft away grrrrr, I don't do busy!

DH took DS2 and 3 to his mums while DS1 and I were there, it seems she is undergoing some tests to find out if she has bowel cancer so that is hanging over his head.

We had more snow come down yesterday, when is it going to stop? It is so slippy out there.

And finally, we have Hotpoint coming out to the washer/dryer - bastarding thing, it's not washing our clothes very well, they smell clean and fresh but they are all covered in bit of fluff and hair and the drying side of things are just a nightmare, it literally bakes the creases into clothes, even my new iron can't get them out, it's wrecking the clothes, I've already had to buy one new lot of uniform for DS1 because the creases were just awful, and I know it's not the iron because the things that won't go in the dryer and so dry on the radiators iron beautifully. We've rang the place we got it from, they say they need to get Hotpoint out to make sure there isn't a fault with the machine (there isn't, it's just shite) so a total waste of time, luckily we used the credit card so if the shop won't give us our money back for it, then I should be able to claw it back through HSBC. Just another PITA we could do without at the moment!

And that is the end of my whinging! God, I bet you've all had your babies in the time it's taken me to moan!

tinkisluvingbeingamummyagain · 09/02/2009 10:52

any thoughts on how much milk dd2 taking nat!!

NatalieJane · 09/02/2009 10:57

Sorry Tink, I'm not much help TBH, none of mine have ever had any trouble with the milk side of things. I know DS3 is taking up to 6oz every 3 hours (mostly 5oz, but for one or two a day he will take the whole 6oz) but that is no guide because they all find their own way of doing it. Is it worth ringing your HV? The only thing I find they know anything about is formula feeding.

The only thing I will suggest but have no idea if it would work the same for you is to offer her cooled boiled water, Mikey has about 2oz of water a day, and while you'd think that would fill him up and delay a bottle, it actually seems to make him more hungry and he want's a bottle straight after having the water. But seriously, like I said, I have no idea if he is just an odd ball, or if there is rhyme and reason to it?

NatalieJane · 09/02/2009 10:59

Why does she stop feeding? Is she falling asleep or just clamping her mouth shut or something else? Do you stop her for wind? Will she have more after being winded?

mommyinthemiddle · 09/02/2009 11:14

Finished my 3 jobs now having a cup of tea and 2 nice biccies

See i knew i'd forgotten people.

Hi, NJ, Cosmo, Diege, Ses, gruff

Gruff sorry for the diahorrea, rest and take care of yourself, make sure you drink plenty (i'm sure you already know that)

NJ- Washer/dryer sounds a nightmare, hopefully you will get it sorted soon, will you go back to individuals? What sort of shoes did you get?

Ses- hope you enjoy pilates class, i have a DVD of Antenatal yoga here which has never left the box! Wish there were classes near me.

Cosmo- sorry for the nausea, hope it doesn't turn back into vomiting for you.

Diege- interntaional commuter lol. Can i ask why the name diege, as ever time i read, write it i want to sing Deigo!!!

DH just phoned from work to make sure i got home ok from school run.
Then he said oh yeah the baby kicked me really really hard last night, apparently i was lying with bump against his back and it gave him a few little pokes then one big boot haha! He thought it was me nudging him, but i was still asleep!
Having loads of BH's for past few days...
I have been watching all this deliver me programmes on sky. About a maternity ward in the US and i am at how easily they just say ok time for EMCS. Women are lying flat on the bed not moving, and they aren't dilating very fast or don't get past a certain dilation ie, 8 or 9 so the doctors say ok well thats it lets give you a CS!!! How about getting the woman upright, moving about, bouncing on birthing ball!

mommyinthemiddle · 09/02/2009 11:17

Tink, sorry unsure about how much DD2 should be feeding, i'm sure if she was hungry she would let you know.
Echo nat on winding and trying again. Maybe leave her longer to see if she will take more.

lardybump · 09/02/2009 11:21

Ladies i have just found a lovely poem by purple Ronnie. I really want to share it with you all but if I do type it out will I be breaking copyright or something????? I could email it kay and she could pass it on??? It has made me cry.....

Astarte · 09/02/2009 11:46

Tink I wouldn't worry. If your Dd2 was b'fed, then feeding every 2 hours or so would be perfectly normal. She's still very young.

As long as she is happy in herself, wetting nappies and poo'ing then everything is fine.

Feeding schedules imho aren't helpful because not all babies are the same. You could try making her wait until 4 hours and pacify her with a bit of water as Nat says or a dummy and then see if she takes anymore, but tbh at 3 weeks old she'll be finding her own pattern of feeding. hth

Diege · 09/02/2009 12:04

Hello! TINKS, dd2 was the same. In the end I moved from 3 hourly feeds to 4 and that made a big difference. She wasn't even crying to be fed, but did seem to take more after a longer gap between feeds. So hard to offer advice though, as they are all different and as ASARTE says she'll still be working out her own patterns (if any) at this age.
NAT - is that washer/dryer a joke???!!! What a pain, think dried in creases would finsih me off. Shopping sounds a nightmare - I find TC a bit better at night, though haven't been for years I'll admit.
LOL MIM, diege is actually a nickname my work colleagues gave me. My initials for work (kept maiden name for work) are DJ, and if you remember a programme called Rosanne you may recall she called her son 'DJ' 'diege' as a nickname. So there you go - not the most exciting name I know!
Right, microwave has pinged so fish pie ready to eat!

Astarte · 09/02/2009 12:12

Diege I've wondered for ages why you had your particular nickname. I feel enlightened!

Still a bit bored. Think I might go and clean the windows again. They don't really need doing but neither does anything else.

I have now had 5 phonecalls "just to see how I am", bless 'em all.

Oh cack, just realised I haven't done lunch yet, that'll keep me busy for an hour........

kayzr · 09/02/2009 12:16

Hi,

I might not be around for a bit. I am feeling really really down about the whole puppy thing and I don't want to be bringing the whole mood down with me.

I feel like shit.
