Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Diege · 08/02/2009 10:35

Morning! SES, movements sound perfectly normal to me for 27 weeks. The kicking in the ribs business doesn't really start (from my experience) until baby is a lot bigger and is head down. I would say from your description that yes, tranverse for now (normal). My 3 were all transverse until 36 weeks, then turned head down (and I started to get the kicks in ribs)
My bean's movements are odd! Placenta is still anterior, so was told to expect muffled movements, but they are very distinct, although very much to each side (def transverse). 21 weeks today! FWIW, I hadn't even felt movements with dd1 at this time - such is the power of slack tummy muscles
Very cute of dd LB . Poor you with dh - must be draining
KAYZ, agree with others, such early days there with puppy - advice about putting cloting of ds's in dog bed makes sense.
Morning to everyone else. Feeling shattered after disturbed night (dh's garlic breath, noisy converstaions outside window, etc etc)but have to get dds new school shoes from towen while trying to persuade dd3 why she's not getting any..

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/02/2009 10:46

Thanks for that reassurance Diege. Was just a niggling first-timer worry!

Sounds like a v poor nights sleep
Hope you're successful with the shoes!

I'm just cooking us a brunch of a v unhealthy greasy fry up
Then this afternoon there's the north London Derby (which should cheer Kay up!) and more rugby!

Diege · 08/02/2009 11:24

Greasy fry up sounds good SES! I could murder a fried egg bap but seems dds had them all earlier
Has anyone heard from ASARTE?? Hoping all is well!

kookykid · 08/02/2009 11:43

Have been wondering about Astarte too.... Hope all is OK.

My best friend had her little boy this morning! Am so excited!!! He looks so perfect that I got a little teary.

Ses - I think any movements are good movements. I luckily never really had the rib-killing kicks from DD.

LB - your DD sounds so cute. Sorry you're having arguments with your DP, not good for you at this stage!

Kayz - how's the puppy today?

My DD is being a handful today and I am finding my patience wearing thin. She's at the stage where if she gets in a mood nothing is right. Have given up and just put her to bed in the hope a sleep improves her mood!

Diege · 08/02/2009 12:37

Hi KOOKY! Congrats to your friend, that's lovely news.
Hope your dd's modd improves - have been there (am still there with dd3)and know how frustrating they can be!
I think dh is getting very excited aboiut his little boy. He still can't believe it, but will come out with the odd statement that lets me know he is very, very happy! Have also started looking through some of the summer stock of baby clothes on the net etc...never realised before that so many baby boy things had cars and trucks on etc...Very odd!

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 08/02/2009 13:22

Afternoon everyone

Been AWOL again but have returned with a new name and a new promise with myself to keep in touch more often.

So any guesses? grin]

mommyinthemiddle · 08/02/2009 13:23

well that didn't work how i'd hope still got preghead!

Astarte · 08/02/2009 13:35

have had a long walk, sex, curry, nips stim, more sex and still the child clings to my womb like spiderman on a wall. Pink Champagne is in fridge FGS what else do I have to do?

BH kicking in big style though so I'm def in pre-labour.

Yesterday we thought it could all be kicking off when I felt sick, went to toilet but opened bowels continuously instead. Dh bullied me into ringing the m/w to let her know it might be starting and (he's worried he'll be the only one there to deal with laabour) that I relented, said I would ring back when I needed them but nothing got past that point.
PIL had kids overnight for the first time just in case and coped admirably. They've been a bit worried about having 3 of them up until now but everything was fine, which was good.

Feeling like I need to be on my own, which is a good sign for me too. Will go for a walk later I think. M/w to sweep again on Wed if still no baby.

I hope everyone is doing okay. I'll try and get on again later.

she'd better not turn up when "Lark rise to Candleford" is on. I watch tv once a week and this is my show.

Diege · 08/02/2009 13:44

Hi MINM! (hope that's ok). Good to hear from you. How are things?
ASARTE, sounding like things are (slowly) starting for you. Pink champagne sounds good!
I also love Cabdleford - has such a feel good, dream-like effect and also quite funny too. Let's hope it all kicks off as the credits are rolling!
Off out now to dreaded shoe shop, but will post again later

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/02/2009 13:48

Good to hear from you Astarte! Hope she times it well - ie after Lark Rise My offer is still on for her to share my birthday next Sunday, but I guess you'd rather not!

MinM - good to hear from you too! I like your new name and if I say it's shortened form quickly it makes you sound like Eminem!! (You maybe didn't want to know that though!

I think I really had better go as I only seem to be saying things people probably won't want to hear

Astarte · 08/02/2009 13:55

I've gotta get her out. I can't afford to hang about really. If my bp goes up I'm doomed, doomed I tell ya.
Ses if I'm still pg by next Sunday, I'll be demanding you come and personally poke her out yourself .

Dh is now slightly more panicked by the fact I've announced I will not ring the m/w until I'm absolutely sure she's on her way (ie waving at me).

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/02/2009 14:08

at Astarte - you're on!! (But ok, I hope for your sake it doesn't come to that!)

DH decided to go to Tesco as he's lost his phone charger so I gave him a list! He's come back v pleased with himself that he's got everything I asked for plus a coffee maker ( I hate coffee) and a toy for each of the dogs and some Krispy Kreme donuts!!! (I luuurve KK donuts!!)

Am now watching the football and quite pleased that we haven't conceded a goal yet! (Spurs v Arsenal for the uneducated!!)

tinkisluvingbeingamummyagain · 08/02/2009 15:21

hi

i went into tesco and town bought my friends child a 5th bday card and pressy and dd1 some new trousers for nursery her others have had it

kayzr · 08/02/2009 17:57

Hi,

Still feeling like crap about the dog. I've spent most of the last day in tears and I didn't sleep last night because I was worrying so much. She tries to jump on DS2 if we are feeding him and she is in the room with us. I feel like a cruel and horrible b*tch but I am seriously considering asking the rescue to take her back. I love her so much but it is so much harder than I was ever expecting.

OP posts:
lastboxoftampons · 08/02/2009 18:05

Hello all

AStarte hoping things start moving for you soon!

Kay I agree with the others - too soon really to tell how DS and the puppy will get on. They need to get used to one another.

LB Sorry to hear about your arguing with DH. Sometimes we just get into a rut - our arguing seems quite cyclical - we can be fine for ages and then sometimes it only takes the smallest things to set us off and then we're at one another's throats for days. Marriage is really difficult sometimes

Went to B&Q today and luckily managed to return a toilet that has been sitting in our bedroom since October Was originally ordered as part of a suite back in June, when we went to install in October, we realized we were given wrong pan. Called to complain and they said they would send a new one. New one arrived and wasn't compatible with the cistern. Think they must've changed the model ever so slightly since June, but we really couldnt' afford the time it would take to get a new one as it was holding up the rest of the build and we had to pay a plumber to come out every time. Was complicated return because it was part of a suite, and in the end we didn't get as much for it as we should've bu we're probably lucky to get anything at all since it was bought 8 months ago! Just happy to have it out of my bedroom really!

kayzr · 09/02/2009 07:58

We've decided to let the rescue take her back. DS1 is too young to understand not to chase her around and wind her up. I think he is ok with my mums dogs because they just ignore him but she just snaps at him.

I hope you have all had good weekends. We have more snow!!

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 09/02/2009 08:07

Morning!

Kay - I feel for you. Must have been a tough decision but probably will cause least disruption for you and the puppy to have made it quickly.

Hello all- wow loads to catch up on from the weekend Thanks for all your messages about going on maternity leave I managed to escape without anyone noticing and I was quite relieved as it was snowing and I wanted to get away quick! Today is the first morning of not going to work and its very strange but also fab!!!.. I?ve managed to make myself a long list of jobs to do to keep myself busy...think the R&R will come later So please send me back to my list when I post here every 5mins

Gruff- we definitely need to meet before the babies come along... wondering if we should arrange a Guildford/Farnham coffee or something? ... anyone else welcome too.... maybe Playing since she isn?t far away
How was the first NCT class? We had ours on Saturday and it was really good and everyone seems quite nice... I was surprised how tiring it was though!

Ohsnap- sorry to hear about the sledging incident... how is your mum doing? Looked painful! Has all the snow gone now?

Hi Kooky, good to see you on, can?t believe you are 10wks already!

Ast- How are you? hope the PE symptoms are being kept in check and I hope pool is nice and warm again now.. pop in and let us know how you are later

Ses- sorry to hear of stressful drive in the snow, sounds awful. Though PMSL about your DH dropping his trousers I managed to get home as the snow was coming down on Friday and DH collected me from the station and that was scary enough as we were sliding everywhere. Good for you for carrying on and getting home safe.
Re rib kicks, I didn?t get kicks in ribs whilst it was transverse and mine was for ages ? til about 390wks I think...

Glask- cant believe your sickness is still giving you so much hassle... doesn?t seem very fair. Hope you manage a few clear weeks closer to the end

IDOB- hello, hope you are doing well and not feeling too sick

Diege- will be interested to here what you think of the active birth book... Realised writing this I?ve forgotten to ask DH what school he went to but I did ask if he knew someone with your first name and he didn?t... will try and remember >

Tink- hello

Nat- did you get your shopping trip on sat

STT hello hope you are feeling ok today

Hello and welcome MITM

Hi Kayz- sorry to hear you are having to give the puppy back must be hard decision to make....

Hi LBOT- glad you returned the toilet ok

Hi Cosmo, hurray for the updated dates only 14day to go before maternity leave ? that will fly by....

Playing - hi if you are lurking...

Phew.. think thats everyone

I was feeling very happy last week as it felt like the bump dropped down and the heartburn went away, was total bliss!! But it came back on saturday (oddly following a couple of jam donuts.. connected?? )

Phew.. right time to tackle first job on the list....

C'MON CHILD!!!

Ds2's birthday today, he is 2! We have decided to celebrate it a couple of days after the baby arrives.
I could not be doing with people in the house atm and he's none the wiser, plus I think if everyone visits for his birthday and makes a fuss of that, rather than to see the baby it may help the transition for him.
