OMG! ((((MS)))) What a stress you could really do without today. Is there anyone nearby that could have her? A school friend perhaps?

mumoverseas · 02/02/2009 08:45

oh shit swampy. It really is all going tits up today for everyone. is the hospital far? Have they said what time you must be there by to have CS today? fucking snow! why didn't we all get it at christmas when we bloody wanted it?

MarkStretch · 02/02/2009 08:46

Fucking SNOW!

What is with this country?!?! Swampy that's soooooo frustrating!

My Dad has come up trumps. Has cancelled all plans and will come up tonight and be here to have DD when we go in in the morning (assuming my CS doesn't get cancelled now!)

I've had a cry, DD's had a cry, DH has looked bemused and helpless.

Fucking SNOW.

swampster · 02/02/2009 08:52

It is very pretty, though. I am getting hungry.

I think even if we get to the hospital we will be bumped off by genuine emergencies.

MS, if it's anything there like it is here, I think you better phone the hospital sometime during the course of the day to see if they actually will want to see you tomorrow.

mumoverseas · 02/02/2009 08:53

yay for MS's dad, what a star. Will keep everything crossed that your CS doesn't get cancelled.
Can't believe the pictures on skynews & bbc website. I think I saw less snow in bloody lapland.

Have a good cry ms, you'll feel better. Then go and have some hot chocolate and cake and chocolate and stuff yourself silly today because you can
BTW, my DH constantly looks bemused and helpless, particularly this morning but thats another story

Swampy, hope you get answers soon You don't want to be starving yourself for nothing

Am sending sunny snow defrosting vibes from Saudi

swampster · 02/02/2009 08:54

And I am sending you a snow-encrusted pork pie!

rosieposey · 02/02/2009 08:56

Aw this is the first time i can say that snow isnt welcome MS thats good news about your dad though

Bugger i hope no ones gets cancelled - Swampy you are very relaxed for a hungry pregnant woman lol. They have forcast more heavy snow on Thursday and Friday ffs which is when mine is booked for. what.total.and.utter.shite.

Maybe I'll end up with a VBAC after all.

mumoverseas · 02/02/2009 09:10

mmmmmm pork pie

DH and I have just agreed that if our consultant insists on the cash in hand bung tomorrow he can bloody have it as long as he gets out baby out when he is supposed to. Have had enough of being pregnant and have a cough/cold just come on (FFS its warm and sunny!) and every time I cough I piss myself! sorry, TMI

Fingers crossed for all the imminent births. Would love one like (I think?) laidbacks or IDBI's?(get out of bath and have baby and go back to bed)

spottyshoes · 02/02/2009 09:14

Oh Swampy hope you hear something soon - not least so that you can eat!

And yay for MS's dad

I'm guessing LMN and Mslucy got in ok then and no news is good news.

Lots of snow here. Apart from tomorrow when it should rain loads, it's forecast heavy snow here for the rest of the week! I'm a bit relieved we can see the hospital from our window but dont know if I could walk it in labour May end up with a 'not allowed' HBAC

swampster · 02/02/2009 09:21

You just need a sledge.

mumoverseas · 02/02/2009 09:21

MS & Swampy, if you want to vent your spleens and curse the sodding snow there is a thread just for you in AIBU

MarkStretch · 02/02/2009 09:25

DH just text, he said when he took DD to school the roads were completely clear, just wet but no snow.

Am calming down, slightly....

mumoverseas · 02/02/2009 09:32

deep breaths.
am going back to bed. DD has just had a slightly earlier lunch than usual and I'm hoping she will nap and I will too.
Had a terrible night last night. Went to bed around 9.30pm but was still awake around 4am and think I dozed off sometime after that (in DD1's room) DH parked me in our room at around 7am and took DD2 downstairs for a few hours so I could get some rest, going into work a bit later. He then woke me an hour later as he thought I might need a coffee to keep me hydrated. err no, I needed the sleep more.

MS & Swampy, hope by the time I return on here you have some good news ref your CS's xx

littleboyblue · 02/02/2009 09:33

All you c-sec ladies I've probably missed you all but wanted to say again, goodluck!!!!!!! No doubt you'll all be glad to get on that hot ward!
TBM Hope Tink gets better soon.
O&U Congratulations!!!! I'm so pleased for you. x
MS Dad's are just the greatest aren't they? We're picking mine up from Fulham this afternoon ready for tomoz
Swampy How crappy! There is a fuck load of snow here, hope you can get in soon/have already left.

I am wrecked. Ds had a really bad night and dp pretended to sleep slept through it all.
He 1st woke at 11:30 and was every hour there after. At about 2:30am I was in his room, rubbing and patting him when he started to twitch and jerk, wasn't enough to call fitting, but I got him up and he was really hot! My thermometer isn't very accurate so I don't bother using it (we're getting an in-ear one today), gave him some nurofen and took his pajamas off so was in his vest, but pulled that about to check for rash as he seemed to have trouble moving his head (!) but all seemed ok. I gave him some water and we layed together on the sofa for about an hour while he calmed down. I put him back in bed at about 3:45 as he started getting excited, so left him to go to sleep and was in and out every hour until 6am when he finally fell asleep properly out of pure exhaustion. Then my neighbour rings the fucking doorbell at 8am to see if I need anything from the shops as she doesn't want me going out and falling over(see, she knows what a div I am too!)

Today, I have to wash bottles, get the steriliser out, hoover the car seat, dress the mosses basket, do a bit of ironing and hoover/mop the floors and we are all ready for it. Hoping it happens tomoz and not wednesday.....

MrsY · 02/02/2009 09:35

MS - yay for your Dad. Snow is supposed to ease up tonight and tomorrow, so fingers crossed all will be well tomorrow. As swampy says, keep in contact with the hospital.

Swampy - it's bloody ridiculous that in a country that fairly often gets snow in the winter, and with two or three days warning, they didn't have a back-up plan such as getting you to go in last night. PITA as it would be, at least you'd have your buba today.

MOS - glad you have made a decision about the consultant, but fingers crossed he doesn't mention it and you can deny all knowledge once lo is safely delivered!

Don't know about MsLucy, but LMN should be okay, John says Ashford's not so bad, and she's not that far from the hospital.

lardy - did you phone them back? any further developments?

Hope everyone else is warm and cosy and these pesky babies wait till the thaw before making an appearance!

swampster · 02/02/2009 09:45

Pesky babies indeed, MrsY.

Hospital finally rang to say make your way in if you can - still waiting to hear from cab...

No spleen to vent. At the moment I refuse to get wound up by circumstances beyond my control - that must be the hunger talking, I'll be back to my usual vitriolic self once I have been able to stuff my face again!

swampster · 02/02/2009 09:55

Cab just said it isn't coming - fuckers! Now I have spleen!

littleboyblue · 02/02/2009 09:57

Fuckers indeed! How many companies have you tried?

McDreamy · 02/02/2009 09:57

Oh shit, is there any other way of getting in?

MrsY · 02/02/2009 10:01

Have you checked the outlaws car?

thehouseofmirth · 02/02/2009 10:12

Swampster have you tried Addison Lee?

dinkystinky · 02/02/2009 10:24

Swampy - black cab no for cabs across london is 0871 871 8710 - may work out more expensive but hopefully one of them will get you there!

Good luck.
