pluto · 09/02/2009 19:46

NOOOOOO Rosieposey: keep yourself on both lists and then my CS date won't look so scarily close!!!!

herbgarden · 09/02/2009 20:06

THOM that is definitely the way to go - I organised lots of playdates where my lovely friends would ply me with tea and biccies and DS would trash run around their house with said friends DC's.

I survived my first bathtime all alone and DC's are tucked up so far asleep.....DS is doing his first night under his duvet in his bed rather than with his grobag so we'll see how he gets on tonight. He loves to "snuggle" down so was really excited.

Anyway, off to bed - let's hope to hear more baby news soon !

rosieposey · 09/02/2009 20:08

Lol sorry Pluto!

Am soooo glad mine is over with now. Got out yesterday after a super nagging the docs about going home, probably should have waited till today as as in agony last night - keep forgetting what time to take voltarol and painkllers. Really sore today still but walking around albeit gingerly and its only 74 hours after the op

Milos birthday was something else! What a day to pick... Really thought that DH wouldnt make it in. As it was the midwife said to me at 5 .30 when she came to get me for delivery suite that he should try and get in asap because of the snow. There were no day staff to take over from night staff as no one could get in - or doctors either. I have never seen weather like it! Alls well that ends well though thank goodness. I was bumped 5 times though on the day so instead of being at 9 am i was 4 45 pm but at least he made the day as they were so backed up that when the doctors got in at lunchtime there were a few emergencys in front of me.

Completely besotted by my gorgeous boy - thank you for all the lovely messages here and on FB feel very lucky indeed.

Congrats to McDreamy and MOS - well done PT hope its all gone well for you and cant wait to find out what you had. Hope everyone else is doing ok - sorry if i forgot anyone feel a bit on the tired side as bubs was up from midnight till 6 am last night - god knows why as it wasnt hunger he just seemed to want to be entertained and i feel absolutely knacked so off to bed in a sec!

dinkystinky · 09/02/2009 20:33

Welcome back home Rosie - hope you sort your drugs out and the post-op pain recedes v soon. Milo sounds like he was obviously just wanting more mummy time last night... hope he lets you sleep more tonight...

Hi GTDAHB I would have been here but my orange connection has been playing up most of the night.

Sounds like things are really moving for you now. I must admit I am very of you having a WHB I would have loved that! Must be so calm and relaxing being in your own home and having access to MN all your creature comforts

Enjoy the water, hope it really helps. Look forward to another birth announcement later today

My Cx have slowed right down to 30 mins which is nice as I've finally managed a couple of hours on an off. Still have the constant period type pain and backache though so be no means comfortable. I'd love to have baby on Friday as DS is a Fri 13th!

spottyshoes · 10/02/2009 05:23

Welcome home Rosie. Hope you are a bit more comfortable tonight and manage to get a bit more sleep.

Chilled I had a few of those with DH when planning a HB last time. He was sooooo set against it. I pulled the uterus card and put my foot down but he wasn't happy. Got his own way in the end tho . Hope you're ok and managed to get him to realise that it's what you are most comfortable with that matters.

KT1983 · 10/02/2009 06:44

Morning to everyone,

Welcome home Rosie & Milo

Just wondering how QK is? Anyone heard?

Morning all

All sounds exciting GTDAHB - hope it goes well today!

PT We're all awaiting news??

It's my last work day today......just one more thing to finish but it'll take all day so can't wait to put my feet up tomorrow when DS is in nursery. It'll be bliss! Knowing my luck lo will decide to arrive early and my planned TV and choc biscuit fest won't happen...

KT1983 · 10/02/2009 08:39

Good Luck GTDAHB You sound very relaxed & chilled.

Still no sign of my little bubs making an appearance - 40+1 today - DP woke up this morning and said he has a 'feeling' it will be today
Im not convinced; as he says that every Saturday & Wednesday when we play the lottery

my day involves a long long long walk to the pool - Then a long swim, followed by a long long long walk home, then bouncing on a Fitball for a few hours & perhaps quite a bit of chocolate in between, after all, I need to keep my energy up....just incase

dinkystinky · 10/02/2009 08:41

Morning all. GTDAHB - so exciting that all is moving in the right direction; lovely that you're keeping us all posted (gives Spotty something to think about in the middle of the night ).

Chilled - at your argument with your DH - hope you resolved things and didnt interfere with your sleep; am sure he's just worried about you and the baby, but ultimately its a question of choice and he should know that you'd never make an uneducated choice that would put you or your baby at risk.

Swampy - is that your day or DS3's?

KT - no news from QK or MrsY or Pinktulips. Hoping no news is good news...

This cold is driving me crazy - am now spewing mucus at both ends (delightful - not) and not sleeping at nights (not due to the usual pregnancy induced insomnia; due to being unable to sleep due to being unable to breathe or coughing/sneezing half the night - aargh).

OP posts:
KT1983 · 10/02/2009 08:45

Very true Dinky Cant believe how quickly Feb is going & all the babies are beinning to show up, its so exciting.

I think I have the insomnia too - Between about 2am & 5am, I am WIDE awake. must be bloody awful with the cold too Hope you start to feel better soon.

dinkystinky · 10/02/2009 08:48

Calico - hope all goes well on your last day at work and you get to enjoy chilling out with chocolate tomorrow!

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 10/02/2009 08:51

Spotty Re ARM, I'll be perfectly honest, it was not pleasant.......and it did not work! The first time they tried the mw said the sack was too tight over babes head. They cracked straight on and did this the minute we got there, was quite uncomfortable so she put me on G&A (!), like I said I'm quite pathetic.
The second time I was a bit off my face, still wasn't nice and all that happened was she aggrivated my bladder and I pee'd over her
It's bearable though...
gtdahb Hiya! Shake a leg will ya? Get that baby out
PT We're all waiting.............

At clinic yesterday for Luke's check up. All is well, told not to worry about jaundice and I can go back to 4 hourly, thank god, this 3 hour stuff made it v hard to get anything else done! She also said if he goes through a period where he seems a bit unsettled at any point through the day and it's only been an hour since feeding, feed him again as he'll be trying to stock up, so did that last night and he settled really well, no sitting up shushing and rocking til 4! Yay.
She also said he hasn't lost any of his birth weight (about 10g), so that's good.
I don't know why they bother making appointments though, they said I could either sit at home and wait for them to come here or I could make an apointment and go to clinic, so we made appointment, went to clinic and waited for over an hour!
Took the pushchair for a spin, was like pushing a bus!
Gonna make an apointment to get Luke registered at some point this week too, and later, I'm hoping to get to Argos to buy a little bouncy chair so Luke can come out of basket, might encourage him to be awake a bit more through the day, would also like him to be 'out' so him and ds1 can see (I know Luke can't really) each other and have easier contact but don't wanrt to have Luke 'free' an the floor as might encourage ds1 to start bashing him up!
Baths - I've not bathed Luke yet, I'm waiting for cord to come off....

dinkystinky · 10/02/2009 08:52

KT - I had that with my pregnancy with DS (used those hours in the middle of the night to do work! This time round, I use them to read/chill out/listen to meditation CD); definitely your body's way of getting you ready for the little one coming and keeping you awake most the night! I wouldnt mind so much with the cold if it didnt make me want to chunder every morning with the mucus build up - yuck!

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 10/02/2009 09:13

spotty can I just add that although I said ARM was bearable, I wouldn't wanrt to go down that route again......
The gel worked much better, I had 2 lots 6 hours apart and contractions started instantly on second go. They were very strong though.
If anyone else has had waters broken for them, maybe they could tells us how they found it? Not sure I'm the right person to relay any of these experiences

KT1983 · 10/02/2009 09:24

Yeah, thats what I kept thinking - That its my body getting ready for all the latenight/early morning wakeups from the baby....When she decides to make an appearance.

Im going to buy some Clary Sage oil today.
A friend told me to try castor oil, She drank 3 spoon fulls & went into labout about 12 hours later.

Not sure I could stomach it & the thought of all the sickness & dioreah (cant spell) just puts me off - Would I really want that aswell as labour? I dont think so.
