woohoo go girl wishing you loads of luck fb me to let me know how you get on pink

herbgarden · 09/02/2009 09:20

HOM - I found the last couple of weeks with me heavily pg and DS very very hard. It's almost a bit easier now not being pg and I'm glad I'm now living my "new life" and can just get used to it rather than worry about it. You'll cope, you will. Everyone says the first 6 months with 2 are hard.

At least as well we know now that those newborn phases do pass so at least this time round you don't have all that worry on top. The sleep thing is probably the most difficult. I've also invested in a few "toys" /"things" which DS can hopefully play with on his own whilst I feed DD - he has a habit of asking me to do stuff when clearly I have my hands full ! At least she sleeps a lot at the moment so I'm trying to get her in bed and then do stuff with DS so that when she's back up again and feeding I can plonk him in front of TV or play doh or something.

He's definitely got the devil in him the last 2 weeks but apparently this is common. Great !

givethedogaHB get walking/bouncing on a birthing ball to try kick start it again!! Wednesday is stil 2 days away though - more than enough time for l.o to get moving [fingers still crossed]

PT [exasperated emoticon] for your mum!!! Sounds similar to mine Best of luck xx

I really dont think this will turn into anything. Pains are slowly getting further apart - from 5 mins yesterday to 15 mins now. Just wish it would hurry up and go away as I haven't slept for 2 days Has anyone every had 'cervix not ready' to oh yes this is it within 24hrs?

lardybump · 09/02/2009 09:50

Spotty you are due the same day as me, did you do the EPO? Do you mind me asking how you did it??? I have been taking 4 a day but orally because couldn't find my cervix .......

Good luck PT hope you are on your way....

GivethedogaHB hope it all kicks off for you again. I must get some clarysage....

laidbackinengland · 09/02/2009 09:53

I am sure I have missed you PT, but good luck gal ! Hope to hear some good news soon and that you have avoided giving birth in a snowdrift somewhere !

THOM - Hope you have a better day today .

Spotty - your baby will be here soon - and as others have said, every contraction will be doing something - even if there is no direct evidence of that in your cervix.

MrsY · 09/02/2009 10:17

Morning all - apologies chilled - I wrote a nice long post updating my situation! with loads of personnels, but the computer obviously swallowed it.

Had the shit-est night ever. Tried a bit of induction by seduction and then rolled over to get some kip, but I am in so much pain. I've been having contractions low down in my back going round to my front at the top, but now I basically get the low back pain all the time - and it fucking hurts. I was staggering to the loo every half an hour from 12:30 to about 5:00 and having a bit of a cry as I was in so much pain. Then finally gave in and woke up John to get me some more painkillers and my heat-pack. Finally got about 2 hours sleep and I'm now waiting for my MIL to come and do some reflexology and things to release my back before going up to DAU and begging them to get this baby out of me...

PT yay - how exciting. Hope your mum got to you in time, and you're having a lovely labour!

spotty - totally feel your pain. I wish I had invested in a TENS machine, at the moment I pretty much live in the bath...does arse all though !

spottyshoes · 09/02/2009 10:25

I know laidback, I am just a bit grumpy from no sleep sorry to moan, I know everyone goes through the same thing.

Lardy yes we are. I've been taking one EPO capsule (1050mg) a day orally for the past few days as I was paranoid about squeezing a capsule up there and it slipping out of my/DH's fingers and shooting up there and getting stuck!! Stupid I know but imagine if it did happen and you had to explain to the MW!! However today I thought of a way to get some up there...now this is really cause for blush...I squeezed out the EPO into a dish and used one of DS's medicine syringes to suck and squirt . Dont worry, it will be thrown away when I've finished with it!!!!!

spottyshoes · 09/02/2009 10:27

Are you still having Cx Mrsy?

I nearly didn't invest in TENS this time as got one last time and didn't use it with DS being breech so sold it! Am soooo glad I did tho and will not sell it this time

congrats GTDAHB sounds like things are moving in the right direction for you. EPO is evening primrose oil it helps the cervix to soften... for best results you apply direct to the cervix but can also be taken orally..... I am going to try spottys trick....

Spotty can you od on the? If I try the squirty method should I cut down on the amount I am taking orally??????

katieblirdsnest · 09/02/2009 10:59

PT hope you're en route, get to hospital in time and have a good birth.

THOM sorry you've been feeling so crap. we had to drive about an hour home in (a bit of!) snow yesterday. i spent the whole journey in a ridiculous state of tension, trying not to show DP who'd have thought I was mad. i just hate feeling out of control of my emotions but i guess it's all part of the fun pregnancy game.

i love the EPO advice, will be buying some later and getting that syringe out. thanks for the tip.

spottyshoes · 09/02/2009 11:14

LOL! So glad you didn't all shout eeeeewwwww minger!! Needs must eh?

KBN - get shopping! You, me & LB all due 24th Dont know about ODing LB, I only take one a day as I'm a bit of a wuss but did use 2 caps in the syringe as couldn't suck it all up. I think i'm a bit sceptical about whether it actually goes near my cervix so think I will have one oral and one syringe a day to cover all bases

GTDAHB - You are not barging, Baby says you're a Febber now like it or not Fab news about the sweep, must be a big relief to know that you are making some progress and things are starting to happen properly! (Btw what does cervix still pos mean?)

Ohhhhh I dooo hope my MW will say something similar on Thursday.

lardybump · 09/02/2009 11:22

Right I am going to take 2 orally and 2 squirty as from today then.... he he he he

spottyshoes · 09/02/2009 11:29

How strong are yours?

lardybump · 09/02/2009 11:36

500mg I have been taking one in morning and one in evening since 36 weeks and at the weekend started taking two in morning and two in evening....

MrsY · 09/02/2009 12:07

Hey spotty lardy and gtdahb!

Am going to ask at the DAU today about a tens, as my back feels like it could split in two... Is the EPO stuff worth it? Might stop of and grab some - would it have to be Holland and Barrat or would a chemist stock it?

spotty - cervix pos would mean cervix is posterior (i.e. behind neck of womb). The only benefit of my contractions on Friday seemed to be that the cervix had come round and was thinning, so even though I hadn't dilated at all, there was some progress...

lardybump · 09/02/2009 12:15

I got mine from holland and barrat but a larger chemist may stock it MrsY.... Good luck today.... I have a tens machine that I hired from Boots, may be worth a go...

MrsY · 09/02/2009 12:16

How much was it to hire, lardy?

lardybump · 09/02/2009 12:26

£20 I think...... you have to put a deposit down as well but you get that back..... I am not using it at the moment so you could borrow it but bit worried how I would get it back if I needed it in a hurry....

MarkStretch · 09/02/2009 12:30

Oh my god it's so exciting! PT is off to have a baby and you're all contracting away like mad! Wooooooo!

Have MIL visiting today so will pop in later to check on progress.

Mother and I have been out for a walk today and not in any pain so it's a good sign although I appear to have developed a really annoying clicky hip.

Oh, and I had another poo and it was fine.

COME ON EVERYONE GET PUSHING!!!!!

KT1983 · 09/02/2009 12:30

GOOD LUCK PT Hope your at the hospital & doing well xxx

Hope yours is getting nearer spotty?

Its my due date today & NO sign of baby coming anytime soon. Saw the midwife this morning, who said she is now 3/5ths engaged - So she is on her way, but he has booked me in for a Sweep next monday....Im wishing so much that she comes before then.
I asked him if he thought it was possible & he said he really doesnt think so, because of my size?? Not sure I understand that one

Ok, so im off to bounce on the fitball again, whilst drinking RLT, eating pineapple & waiting for DP to get home tonight for sex ( how romantic!!) I will get this baby out before next week

MrsY · 09/02/2009 12:31

No, don't worry, lardy. I'll drag MIL into town after hospital appointment...

spottyshoes · 09/02/2009 12:47

lardy Oh so it'd be about the same as me taking 2 - that's ok then, I dont want to be taking too little!

Mrsy - Ah that is what the Consultant wrote on my notes then it said 'scribble' posterior. All I could think was - how on earth could she tell where the placenta was from an internal!? Cant believe i'm a 2nd timer . Defo check out the tens. Mines a 'flip tens', i got it for £14 inc P&P on ebay and it was delivered next day (i missed the post tho so it sat in PO for a couple more!) V worth it! I got my EPO from Boots, it's only a small one. Tesco's and everywhere does it - it's really common, people use it for period pains/PMS.

KT - not sure what he meant about size either Fingers crossed your efforts pay off this week, but if they dont, a sweep isn't that bad

spottyshoes · 09/02/2009 12:49

Another congratulations on your poo MS
