fuck

in labour

mother on her way (although being my mother lord knows if she'll get here before the baby!)

forgot how much this bloody hurt

thehouseofmirth · 09/02/2009 07:45

Morning all!

Are you all off having babies? Been up since 6.45 when DS climbed all over me demanding a tuna sandwich... mercifully I actually managed to go to bed before 11pm last night and until he put in his breakfast order, DS stayed in his own bed last night for the first time in ages so I have almost had enough sleep.

Had a horrible day yesterday which involved me crying pretty much non-stop all day, DS trying to compete in terms of irrational, hormonal hysteria and poor DH looking very confused.

Spotty hope you managed to either have a baby or get some sleep last night.

Dinky I'm sorry you've got a cold, that's so unfair! Hoping it clears up quickly so you can breathe your baby out, or at least breathe !

thehouseofmirth · 09/02/2009 07:47

OOH PT about bloody time!

You mean it hurts?!

PinkTulips · 09/02/2009 08:00

those piddling half assed false starts failed to prepare me for this

dd is very excited and dp is faffing about grinning and saying 'you're having a baby today!' every 10 mins..... [sigh]

sitting down now as they come so fast when i walk about i'm afraid i'll go too fast... mother still not here and have an hours drive to the hospital to contend with when she turnes up

spottyshoes · 09/02/2009 08:04

GOOD LUCK PT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No dont move! It's agony. I always knew that any form of exercise/movement was bad! Stay on the sofa

Wishing you a speedy (not till appropriate people get there/you to hosp) and easy one xxx

spottyshoes · 09/02/2009 08:05

Givethedogahomebirth - how are you this morning? Hope you are breathing l.o in a lovely HB as I type

PinkTulips · 09/02/2009 08:07

shit 50 secs long now and still no sign of my fucking mother!

spottyshoes · 09/02/2009 08:09

No, nothing changed here THOM. Spent most of last night in the bath and contractions have slowed to every 15mins so still not enough to get some sleep.

It has given us 6inches of snow last night which is pretty but I am praying that SS's school is open coz I cant cope with him being a little shite stuck in here today!

Off to squirt some Eve prim oil up the fanjo to see if I can thin out this pesky cervix niiiiiice!

PinkTulips · 09/02/2009 08:11

took a handful of them yesterday so worth a shot!

chilledmama · 09/02/2009 08:23

so exciting

thehouseofmirth · 09/02/2009 08:29

PT get on all fours and stick your bum in the air!

idontbelieveit · 09/02/2009 08:31

Neeerly3 · 09/02/2009 08:32

i have larynjitis (sp?) so tucked up in bed with laptop and Frasier on TV......taking my mind off baby rubbing head on pubic bone and bladder though, so not all bad....

PinkTulips · 09/02/2009 08:32

fuck

oh fuck

i'm going to be that woman who gives birth at the side of the road

fuck

thehouseofmirth · 09/02/2009 08:32

PT Can anyone else sit with your children while you wait for your mum to put in an appearance so you can head off sooner?

idontbelieveit · 09/02/2009 08:32

oooh, PT, how exciting. Haven't got time to check thread, too busy making drinks for in laws! Back later when dh back from work and i get 2 mins to myself.

thehouseofmirth · 09/02/2009 08:35

Or call an ambulance? - paramedics got to better midwives than DP?!

Neeerly3 · 09/02/2009 08:55

Laryngitis - i looked it up!

PT, stay very still and keep talking to Lulumama on your other thread.......sending turbo boosting vibes to your mother, does she know how urgent this is?

My mother is at least 4 hours away, so we have a friend on standby, but my sister has been speaking to my mum and apparently she has been saying "what if i don't make it in time" bless her, she still thinks she is gonna be here in time for the birth....with my history, not a chance!

jenniferturkington · 09/02/2009 08:56

ooh good luck PT

No sign of anything happening here, would be a good day to have a baby as I'm stuck indoors with DS with nothing to do!

IDBI did you get my email? Sent it to the address on your FB site...don't worry about responding as you have a new baby to cuddle- just wanted to make sure you got it that's all! And stop making drinks for the inlaws!

herbgarden · 09/02/2009 08:56

PT - how exciting - you wanted this baby to arrive and now it's happening. Hope your mum arrives soon.

THOM - Sorry you're feeling teary. I cry most days - it all just gets a bit much and I'm finding DS quite a handful. When you only get broken sleep everything feels worse.

I'm on my first day home alone. It's chucking it down with rain so no chance of me getting DD out in the buggy unless perhaps I get really hacked off later and just chuck on my waterproof and wellies. Sometimes it's the only way.

Am really peed off though. Bought a spare Jane Aurora chair thingy (lies flat and sits at varying angles and DD loves it particularly with her "windy" issues) - off ebay. It arrived on Sat (just found it on the doorstep) and it's clearly come from a very smoky home. I am so stupid not have asked but I don't reckon I'll ever get rid of the smell - it's revolting......It was only a fiver but I had to pay postage on top.....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Am e-mailing said ebayer this morning to vent my frustration !

ambos take hours to get out here.... not much point

rang dad and he said she left an hour ago.... tis only a half hour drive so she's clearly decided to pop to the shops on her way as per usual.

some days i could throttle that woman

herbgarden · 09/02/2009 09:03

Oh yes, something I meant to say.....

For you first timers - Not sure how you're planning on "dressing" baby at night but something I found great is the Mothercare swaddling blanket. It's a jersey stretchy thing and you can get it really tight with arms pinned down to the side - £14.99. DD does fight against it but then really really calms down when she gets in it. Occasionally she might cry a little bit when she gets in it. I had it with DS but only discovered it at 6 weeks and wish I had got it earlier. It's also not too hot as it's thin jersey.

I then use a cotton blanket to "tuck" her in from waist down.

I bought a spare one on Saturday given that DD is such a vommy baby so they still stock them....

Over and out !!

thehouseofmirth · 09/02/2009 09:04

PT Shame you can't take her to hospital with you. I'd imagine it would be quite therapuetic to have someone to throttle as a distraction from your contractions...

thehouseofmirth · 09/02/2009 09:05

Herbgarden thanks for the sympathy but if I'm like this now what will I be like when DS2 arrives?!
