How exciting for you Elkidee

Soooooooo at all you lot getting some kind of action from the lo's.

Im with McDreamy - Im bored of pregnancy. Got another spicy tea tonight. Roasted veg & Cous cous full of super hot chillies - Its gota do something....Surely??

fruitstick · 02/02/2009 18:10

Congratulations to all the new bundles, what a great day to be born!

Nursery was closed today so had the day at home with DS1. Struggled in the park for 90 minutes, completely unable to bend down to pick up snowballs let alone make a snowman. We came home to make snowball fairy cakes instead, we we were effectively housebound for the rest of the day.

DH has been working from home today and complained that he felt DS had watched too much tv today.

If it wasn't for the fact that I didn't want to overload the emergency services ................

I've sent them out to make snowmen until bedtime!

chilledmama · 02/02/2009 18:18

Elkidee- Fingers crossed everything keeps going and you get to meet your baby soon!

chilledmama · 02/02/2009 18:20

KT-V.bored here too and I'm only just 37 weeks...I will be a complete nightmare if I go past 38+2(when DS was born) nevermind 40 weeks

KT1983 · 02/02/2009 18:23

chilledmama did you get any clues/signs that labour was getting close with DS? am 39 weeks today & hoping....

dinkystinky · 02/02/2009 18:25

Good luck Elkiedee - sounds like another snow baby on the way!

Markstretch - good luck for tomorrow. LBB - good luck for tomorrow (KT - she's scheduled for an induction).

Chilled - wanna swap DS's? I love DS dearly but my god, meal times with him make me wonder why I'm having a second one....even when its food he has asked for, which I know he likes, he's impossible and soooo lazy... oh well.... hope no 2 is a better eater

OP posts:
littlesez · 02/02/2009 18:27

more babies, yeah congratulations ladies xxx

MarkStretch · 02/02/2009 18:31

Er? Anyone who's bored want to swap places with me? I've decided not to have a baby after all....la la la lalala la la.....

OKAAAAY THEN I WILL

I just rebooked my Mother's flights for her to come over on Friday instead. She has spent the day in tears apparently as she is so gutted at missing the LO's arrival tomorrow.

Turns out she had forgotten to pack her passport anyway, so even if she had got to the airport on time and everything was running smoothly, she wouldn't have been able to leave France.

GAH.

chilledmama · 02/02/2009 18:41

KT-Not really, he wasn't even fully engaged.
Got up on the Monday morning and had a small show (no blood or anything). Let me MW know by text but wasn't expecting anything to happen as NCT classes had said that it could still be weeks after a show. Next time I went to the loo the rest of the plug came away and there was the tiniest bit of blood in it...I really had to squint to see it...you know like the PG test you take 2 days before you should and try to convince yourself there is a line!!
Went out to shops as had to pick up some stuff from John Lewis (walking distance). Came back from shops and started my obligatory piece of daily housework in prep for HB. Got knackered so went for snooze. Got up and had some lunch, went to the loo then ran (OK wobbled with speed) to get mobile which started ringing...and realised that I was still leaking
Put in a pad, and went to meet my friend in park with her 2 DDs. Was starting to get a couple of periody cramps but nothing strong or serious. Friend Convinced me that was probably waters and should really contact MW. After that things just ramped up over rest of day. DH and I went to our last NCT class that evening and I was really uncomfortable but only because I had to sit still. Full labour was estimated to begin at midnight and DS arrived (in the bath)at 1009 next morning.

idontbelieveit · 02/02/2009 18:45

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS! to onwardandupward, MsLucy and LittleMissNorty.

for everyone having troubles cos of the weather.

Have caught up with thread now, can't believe 5 pages since i last checked!

MrsY glad you liked the vid. Dd1 is really into daddy's pedals, they spent about 45 mins making music earlier today while i lay on sofa with baby.

A word to anyone with c-section staples - make sure you get them out on day 5 as i waited until day 7 cos of crap midwifery service at the weekend and it murdered! One of the staples had turned around the wrong way and took ages to get out. Much more comfortable now they've gone though

back later if i'm not sleeping!

chilledmama · 02/02/2009 18:46

Dinky-There are several occassions in very recent memory where I would gladly donate DS to science!!!

MS-Good luck for tomorrow...not sure why I'm offering good luck, you don't need it. What I mean is...I hope you have an amzing day meeting your baby

dinkystinky · 02/02/2009 19:08

Ah, glad to hear that your little boy can be infuriating too Chilled

KT - I was induced at 42 weeks with DS. As a first timer, its always better to prepare yourself for the long haul - that way if bubs comes early, you get a nice surprise!

OP posts:
littleboyblue · 02/02/2009 20:10

Taking me ages to catch up so you'll have to forgive the skim reading.

MsLucy Congratulations!!!

LMN You too. Well done

Yeah, we're booked in for induction tomoz, they're gonna 'start' by breaking waters. So is that 3 due for tomoz?
My dad's here now so ds is having trouble settling to sleep, thinks he's missing something!
Nice to see the boys catching up with the girls
I've done the last bits now, mosses basket is dressed, steriliser's out, bottles washed, car seat cleaned and by the door, bag double checked, but still doesn't feel real......
Can't wait to finally meet our baby though, just hope hospital isn't too busy.
Better go get dinner on......

dinkystinky · 02/02/2009 20:21

Good grief - the times has an article about how this snow type weather is due to stay around for the next 2 weeks! Aargh....

OP posts:
laidbackinengland · 02/02/2009 20:33

Yay.... big and warm congratulations to LMN, O and U and MsLucy. Good luck to those in tomorrow, hope the snow doesn't mess with things.

McDreamy · 02/02/2009 20:35

Oh my word I have really bad shoulder pain this evening - any ideas?

idontbelieveit · 02/02/2009 20:52

McD could yu have pulled it lifting something? I had terrible back and neck pain for the last 3 weeks or so, don't know what i did butbecause of pregnancy hormones, ligaments and muscles just don't sct like they should. i think i lifted dd during a tantrum and carried her down the stairs and that's what started it off.
Take some paracetamol but give your gp a ring if you have other pains in your upper abdomen as it could be Pre eclampsia related.
Hope you feel better soon.

idontbelieveit · 02/02/2009 20:53

act like they should!
