Congratulations to all the new families - there's been loads of changs since I last logged on.

I'm off to see the consultant in a bit - mw says to expect to have a sweep. No-one I know has had one so am slightly worried - hoping it doesn't hurt!

Back to my gym ball

fishie · 27/04/2005 13:34

hello everyone and congratulations. i've got a baby too, waters broke last wed - four nights, a very long failed induction and a cs later.... a little boy called merlin. 7.12lb, very long toes.

mummydreamer · 27/04/2005 13:39

Congratulations Fishie! Welcome to little Merlin - particularly if he has "tingers" like my little one....

miranda2 · 27/04/2005 13:54

Well, its my due date today (I know it says 28th on the list but the scan actually changed it to 27th but I never bothered to change it here). Took castor oil this morning in an attempt to get things started - doesn't seem to have had ANY effect though! Ds1 was induced 2 weeks late so everyone is saying I simply must make them too comfortable in there...

aprilmeadow · 27/04/2005 14:13

Hi Everyone - Congratulations on all the new arrivals and fingers crossed for those who have yet to arrive.

Just to let you know that i have posted my birth announcement.

Take care
Aprilmeadow xx

Hi everyone!

Sorry for being gone for so long. I had a difficult birth and then was re-admitted to hospital for five days for complications and only got out a couple of days ago.

Anyway, the main information is that Anneke Zoë was born on 13 April, weighing 9lb6oz.

Things went well up to a point and then I ended up having a failed ventouse and forceps delivery, with third degree tear. The complications were due to a bad reaction to the medication I was sent home with, the tear itself, and the inability of anyone in the NHS to actually want to see me to find out what was wrong. By the time I was readmitted, Anneke and I were both badly dehydrated and before I was allowed home on Monday I had to be interviewed by two very stern social workers as one of the midwives had reported me. That was a serious low point and I found it very frightening.

(I am going to be making a formal complaint once I feel better, and will be taking legal advice.)

The whole thing has been a horrible nightmare and I still feel very fragile (though better physically than before as I can now walk - lol!)... but I'm glad to be home. Bit scared how I'm going to cope as DH goes back to work tomorrow, but I guess we'll manage!

Congratulations on your beautiful daughters, 006 and verso

Sorry to hear about what a time you have had verso - I hope you continue to recover physically and are able to deal with the emotional turmoil so you can enjoy your baby.

leander · 27/04/2005 16:19

csa · 27/04/2005 20:49

strawberry, hope your dh is much better now. what an awful thing to happen.

congrats to all and strong labour vibes to all those still waiting

alux · 28/04/2005 10:33

Verso: I am behind you all the way. Will not go into my details of dissatisfaction here. Will open a thread about it soon. I want others to learn from my experience. Be assertive. And don't give in.

Gem1355 · 28/04/2005 19:29

hi finally got a picture of Darcie in profiles

congrats to all and not long for the rest!!

leander · 29/04/2005 19:36

Hi all, Ihave been the hospital today for my post date appointment and am booked in for induction on Sunday morning 9-30 am.I have had a couple of shows since yesterday so am hoping I wont need the induction.I was asked if i wanted a sweep but opted against it just didnt feel like being prodded and messed about with.

Gem1355 · 29/04/2005 19:38

leander hope all goes well for sunday and you'll have a beautiful baby by the end of the weekend!!

csa · 29/04/2005 21:12

good luck leander for sunday

leander · 30/04/2005 05:28

Well I dont think I am going to need that induction (hopefully).Been having contractions most of the nighton and off but am getting them now about every 10 mins lasting about 30 secs so still a while to go but hopefully they wont stop. They are mostly in my back which is what I had with ds, think I will go and get a nice warm bath and hope I dont scare them away

leander · 30/04/2005 20:35

Still here just, contractions died away about noon and then started again with a vengence about 6 pm they are now every 4 or 5 mins just rang delivery suite and they said to stay at home as long as i can cope so shouldn't be long I think. My ds has got earache so my mum cant come in with me as he will only settle for her if he wakes in the night.

csa · 30/04/2005 20:36

good luck leander.

Verso · 01/05/2005 03:50

Internet was down for a couple of days so I've not been able to log on. What happened to you, Alux? let me know when you start your thread and thank you for your support.

Good luck, Leander!

Have just put a birth announcement on.

As it's now may - hope this thread will end soon. Good luck to everyone left and hope your birth experiences are as good as mine was

Raindog · 03/05/2005 11:56

Congratualtions Leggymamba! I'll go and read the birth announcement now.

Is anyone else left lingering into May or is it just me?? Send some vibes this way please - I'm SO FED UP!!!
