Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kookykid · 19/01/2009 19:31

Oh Wow!!! Just seen Tink's news!

Congratulations! And well done on the G&A!

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and may then be brave enough to add myself to the list if that's OK??

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 19/01/2009 19:50

Thanks Astarte and Kay, love the idea of spa time on my own but not sure I'd get away with that.. though im sure the boys want some time to catch up.... do have random fear about waters breaking early in the bed!

LOL Astarte re early slurring. I forgot to have a glass of wine (clearly forgotten the habit) so having some of chocolate instead. Probably v appropriate for Tink- not shame its not a wispa!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 19/01/2009 19:51

Hi Kooky- sorry missed your post somehow

Wow 8wks already. Definately get on the list when you are ready.

How are you feeling?

Diege · 19/01/2009 19:57

Kooky, get yourself on the list woman
GYO, think Asarte has it spot on with the dilemma. If you stay at spa you could say there's a special mother to be offer on that your GP said would help with aches and pains, though maybe the deferred gratification (ie, getting dh to cough up for a spa weekend) might be the better option? (though not at the time I'm sure). I'm sure you'll have a great weekend either way - wish it was my dilemma!
SES, could the I'coo people tell you a branch it is in? You'd think they'd be keener to get a sale! Is there any internet site that does stock it? I would also go ahead with the pilates - your work have legal obligation to let you attend, so I wouldn;t refuse! Really wish we had something like that round here - just boring smelly old aqua natal .
Right, am really gone this time. Night all!

Diege · 19/01/2009 20:00

Oh while I remember, MOOSMA I'm sorry to say the sickness has been the worst of all 4...I'm sure it won't be the case with you but it's only just going now (18 weeks) and resorted to meds in the end. I am strange like that though, and quite a sicky person anyway, so no reason why your no.4 will be the same!

lardybump · 19/01/2009 20:05

I have just got back from the hospital and have my pelvic support now.... waiting room was full, I walked in 8 months pg and on crutches and the only person to offer me a seat was a 70 year old man with a zimma..... Could not believe it there were people in there that were about 30 and only had bad arms and they sat there with their head in their papers trying really hard not to look at me... I very loudly said "Thank you for the offer but I couldnt take your seat, maybe someone more mobile will offer me theirs."

No one did and the receptionist bought me out a chair from the office... I could not believe it.....

Astarte when you get your massage what possition are you in (that sounds silly but really want one but obviously can not lay on tummy so was wondering)

moosma · 19/01/2009 20:15

Oh great thanks Diege, you're filling me with confidence!;) You have got a bit ahead of me though, this will be #3 for me, not #4!!

Lardy, is the support helping you? What sort of thing is it?

lastboxoftampons · 19/01/2009 20:19

Oooh, poor you Ses I hope it's what you want when you finally do get to see it!!! I would've emailed them A larger store??? I was in Mothercare-f*cking-WORLD!!!!!

Yes, yes, yes, Kooky add yourself to our list! Partly because it's lovely and partly because it means I won't be last on the list anymore LOL

GYO Not sure what to suggest, but I think I'd be leaning toward hotel if at all possible as well.

lardybump · 19/01/2009 20:25

Is is a rather attractive 3 belted corset...... It goes under bump and is designed to hold the pelvis together so that it can not move. Will let you know how I get on tomorrow as not got it on tonight as have had bath with dd... Not going to sleep in it to start with..

What one do you think I should go for?????

this

or

this

Astarte · 19/01/2009 20:28

LB that's dreadful. Fancy chivalry falling to a partially mobile, elderly man.
What's wrong with people today?
The massage is firstly Indian Head, so lying on my back if I can if not, then on my side. Side lying for back or sloped sitting (meaning forward I think she said). Then sitting for leg massage and Reflexology part.

Kooky add yourself to the list

Moos maybe she 'knows' you'll have twins!!!

moosma · 19/01/2009 20:40

Ha ha Astarte. Ha f*cking ha.

LB that sounds beautiful! Hopefully it'll do the trick and keep you relatively pain free for the next few weeks. I had a back massage at about 35 weeks with DD2, it was sloped sitting, leaning forwards with my bump poking through a hole in the chair like you get for your face to poke through in a massage table. It was quite entertaining!

moosma · 19/01/2009 20:41

Kayz I just saw your post about being broody - go for it! Let's keep the wagon circulating, by the time I'm waddling off you can be stepping on again!

lardybump · 19/01/2009 20:46

I am going to try and get a massage next week then..... Also need to get a haircut before the monkey is here too...

Right I am off now but will speek to you all tomorrow evening....

kookykid · 19/01/2009 20:58

Thanks everyone, will add myself tomorrow when deff officially 8 weeks.

GYO - one word - HOTEL!

Lardy - your SPD sounds so painful - hope the corset works, it sounds very thexy! FWIW when I had a massage when very pg with DD I lay on a pile of cushions on my side and she did my massage that way. Was rather undignified when I had to get up, but was well worth it. Hope it helps.

kayzr · 19/01/2009 21:23

I cant have another one. DH wont let me until Dylan is older. Spoil sport!

Kooky, get yourself on the list.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 19/01/2009 21:37

Ahh shame Kay-

Once all the wagon babies are out we can have syndicate for next wagoner to fall off!

Get some bets going

Off to go to bed if I can get past my moody DH! MEN!

Oh and looks like we will have to stay with friend - friend is lovely but really want a good nights sleep esp as im still working..... Oh well.

Astarte · 19/01/2009 21:44

I wonder if they've let Tink home. Do they still kick you out in a birth centre or do you stay in?

Starshinetiger · 19/01/2009 21:45

CONGRATULATIONS Tink! Welcome to the world Bracken. Well done on your birth too - sounds like it went smoothly.

Playing - good to hear from you, long time, no "see".

LB - shocked at lack of chivalry in waiting room - is really bad!

Moos - don't think I've been on to say welcome back yet - Welcome back!

Did my back in on Sat, so not too comfy at the mo - if no better tomorrow am going to try and get it seen at. Now less than 4 weeks to mat leave (am 31+1 today), so getting very excited!

Right, must get some ironing done now. Enjoy your wine/chocolate ladies.

kayzr · 19/01/2009 21:53

No she is coming home tomorrow and Bracken is feeding well.

I'm planning on excl BF Dylan on Wednesday so I may be here begging for encouragment!!

Astarte · 20/01/2009 07:47

Oh well done Kayz!
So pleased he's feeding well and you've found a groove for both of you.
We'll be here for you

We had a rather good GOF last night and boooooooyyyyyyyy did it set stuff off. The pulling deep in my pelvis/cervix area was um intense to say the least.

Dh is off this afternoon to help me out, so looking forward to that

Hope everyone has a lovely day

kayzr · 20/01/2009 08:26

Morning,

Thanks Astarte!!!

DS1 slept in his bed all night again. I think he is quite happy without the sides on. He came running into our room when DH went to work.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 20/01/2009 08:35

Morning... had another update on Tink this morning... She had a second degree tear same as with her DD1, but didn't actually need as many stitches this time. Baby Bracken is feeding, sleeping and pooing- everything she should be.

Fingers crossed they get let out later today. Will try and keep you all updated as/when i hear from her, if not will text kay and hopefully she'll be on beofre me.

I have a friend and her dd coming round today... Think they are coming after lunch, Haven't taken DS to nursery- i'm in such agony walking that i didn't want to face the cold!! Last night i was nearly crying i was that bad- i see my MW a week today so hopefully she can speed up my 'refferal' for physio.... at this rate DS wont be going to nursery unless someone else is here to walk him there!!

Diege · 20/01/2009 08:58

Morning! Sorry to hear you're in such pain GLASK - that sounds horrendous . Is theer any chance you can get see your midwife or a GP any sooner? Seems a long time to wait (and then wait again for a referral to come through) when you are in such pain.
Thanks too for update on TINKS - spunds like things are going well, and look forward to reading birth story
MOOS , yes of course it will be twins - didn't I mention that? (hence the predicted bad sickness). FWIW I was sick with no. 3 but it did stop at 12 weeks and while worse than with no.2 was better than no.1 (which was more like no.4). Not really helping here am am...
LB, what an appalling situation for you to have to cope with at the hospital ; I can't believe the ignorance of some people. Hopefully you're feeling some relief from the brace?
Good going on the goff Astarte ; may well have pushed things in the right direction. Poor dh has been severely neglected (yes, I mean nada) since conception date .Good news too KAYZ on ds1's sleeping - makes sucha difference and also ds2's feeding. Hopefully you've turned a corner
Hello to everyone else. It's sooo cold here, and very icey on the ground. Working from home today, and hopefully weds and thurs too if I can wing it .
Oh and have an 'unoffical' maternity start date (boss is going on sabbatrical so needed to know asap for cover etc). Am thinking beginning of May when I'll be 34 weeks or so. Can't bear carrying on with the commute after that!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 20/01/2009 09:01

Morning All

Astarte- good to hear the GOF was effective! maybe you will be next after all!

Glask- thanks for tink update and about your pain. Hope your referral comes through soon.

Tink- hurray for things going well with Bracken. Hope you are let home today.

Kay- great news that DS1 slept where he was supposed to again and we are all ready to support when you do the exculsive feeding tomorrow.

Weird dreams continuing- the worst one is recurring and Im not being able to feed the baby after birth at all, with no milk coming out! Then I was trying to wind a blanket but there was no baby inside there... all a bit freaky..

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 20/01/2009 09:10

Thing is Diege- i dont want to sound like a 'moaner'.... and although i'm in imense pain and can barely walk i feel i'd rather just suffer at home than have to go here there and everywhere to get something done about it IYGWIM?? I hate being a pest, and just mentioning it to the MW 2 weeks ago made me feel like such a moaner- I do think the fact that I was also in and out for the first 20wks for medication for the sickness makes me feel worse about saying something... How bad is that? I feel too shy to actually say just how much pain i really am in!! Typing it now i'm in pain and crying from it, but i dont want other RL people to see me like this!!
