Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Evening all

I am so tired!I just dont want to do anything. Feeling so lethargic. Have sat on sofa all night - nothing new there - but actually cant possibly get up!

Did go to work today. 12-6. DH drove me in and stayed with me and we took the girls I look after out and played in the snow for 1 1/2 hours. Thought it was pretty cool to get paid to play in the snow. And to be fair I just watched, DH did all the hard work

DH's school is closed again tomorrow (its in the mid of nowhere) so he is coming to work with me again for the morning which will be lovely. I feel very spoilt getting all this time with him!

Gyo - exciting about cot and floor for nursery etc. we are still clearing out cant believe how much stuff we have. We are a bit nuts nad have decided to get new floors throughout before the baby comes not to mention still painting the nursery, kitchen and bathroom. It needs doing though!

Ses - glad you have had a good rest, be careful!

LB - sorry to hear DH is being so horrible to you. I hope you can sort it out.It must be so hard to have that going on with everything else too

NJ - Im impressed you have managed to get on so much today - go girl!

lardybump · 04/02/2009 08:11

Astarte where are you??????? We need a progress report!!

Diege · 04/02/2009 08:33

Morning! Agree, we need hourly twice daily reports ASARTE!!!
Hope you're feeling ok LB - think your dh is being totally unreasonable - hope he sees sense soon.
Glad you're feeling better SES - take it easy woman!!
I have decided that today is going to be a day where I get things done, rather than avoiding doing things. I am very behind with my marking, and the sooner I get it done the sooner I get paid and the buggaboo is mine!!!
Hope everyone is well and had restful nights!

Astarte · 04/02/2009 08:44

BH all night, never progressed further than disturbing my nights' sleep. Happened 2 nights ago too.
Highly likely it's pre-labour as this happened with ds2 and when labour started it was as Nat described further down, very fast & furious.
I'm thinking it's likely to go that path again. Feeling very calm & collected though.....hypno cd? or simply deluded? hmm.

I still think Sunday. MIL is about if I need her today so that's reassuring Dh managed his meeting yesterday so everything is clear now for arrival.

Nesting is in 'battle mode', it's that bad

still haven't done birth plan.

Astarte · 04/02/2009 08:50

LB forgot to add he's being a shit! If you don't want him at the birth then be honest with him about it, sometimes they don't see the wood for the trees, do they?

Maybe straight talking is what he needs. He's probably panicking in general about you all, what with the recent A&E adventure and you ?having an infection, with birth just around the corner....still should engage his brain before his gob though .

Ses I dreamt about you last night.
Everytime I got a BH and awoke, I could hear your 'voice' telling me to 'relax', 'everything would be fine' . How bizarre!
I kept saying thanks to you, fancy being my birth partner?

kayzr · 04/02/2009 08:54

Morning,

I need some reassurance please. I have left DS2 upstairs as he was fed about 7 and he is still asleep. His monitor is on, but I am using all my strength to stop myself going to get him which will wake him up. My SIL's friend lost his little boy to cot death 3 days after his 1st birthday. So it is on my mind atm. DH is being normal and saying he'll be fine.

Astarte · 04/02/2009 09:05

He'll be fine Kayz.

If you feel the need to check on him often why not babywear?

Worrying about SIDS is not healthy, it is highly unlikely to happen Enjoy the peace and have a cuppa uninterrupted, he'll be up soon enough.

Astarte · 04/02/2009 09:06

I don't have a monitor. Threw it away after the first child, it drove me nuts listening to it.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 04/02/2009 09:06

Morning

Sunny here but still FREEZING!

Kayz- I am sure he will be fine. Probably enjoying peace and quiet having a sleep on his own. Hope you arent too worried, but its understandable.

Astarte- all getting exciting, sounds like you might have such a quick labour we wont have time for running commentary- unless your laptop will work from birthing pool

So exciting.... now where is your syndicate list gone..... Im off to find it....

kayzr · 04/02/2009 09:10

He has just woken up. He has gone straight to sleep down here. It never bothered me with DS1 but MIL made a big thing about SIL's friends little boy and how we should be careful(despite her telling us to put DS2 on his front), it has just freaked me a bit.

Diege · 04/02/2009 09:28

Sounding like pre-labour ASARTE!! Very excited for you .
KAYZ, I know it is hard, but please try not to worry about SIDS. I also had a friend (well, friend of a friend) whose little girl died of SIDS on xmas day - heartbreaking, but it is very, very rare. I'm another one who got minitor for dd1, then didn't bother for others. Worked out that our house is so small that I could hear crying from anywhere in the house anyway!
Very exciting all these births coming along - will get the wagon through the winter months!!
I am now going to have a rolo donut and a decaf coffee before starting marking.

kayzr · 04/02/2009 09:30

A rolo donut???? Where do I get myself one of those?

Diege · 04/02/2009 09:34

Tee hee, got mine from Sainsbury's but sure they are available in most places. Let me describe it for you KAYZ. Ring donut smothered in rich, thick milk chocolate. Generously sprinkled with large chocolate sprinkles. Rich caramel inside when you bite, just like a rolo. Mmmmm....

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 04/02/2009 09:39

I'm hoping its less than 6wks

Anyone else fantasising about a post birth meal that involves eating without heartburn and all the things we arent supposed to eat now?

Its occupying far too much of my thoughts

kayzr · 04/02/2009 09:39

I really really want one!!!!

I am going to go to Scarborough tomorrow to get one!!!

I do like Chocolate Toffee Danish's that they sell in a bakery here.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 04/02/2009 09:42

OMG Diege sounds fab

Please send over a bite!

Morning btw!

2 weeks????????

It certainly doesn't seem that long ago Tink.

lastboxoftampons · 04/02/2009 10:03

Morning everyone

Rolo donuts!?!?! What will they come up with next??

Astarte oooooh, so excited for you, it's coming soon! And so funny about your dream about Ses - maybe her voice sounds like your hypno CD? But you wouldn't know now would you. Just realized I guessed the same day as someone else in the syndicate - is that allowed? It's a different time, but same day...

Ses glad you're feeling better. I guess sometimes we have to push ourselves a bit to see just where the boundaries are - you'll know to take it easy next time. In the meantime, enjoy the pampering! How did the tidying go over the weekend, by the way?

Kay Glad to hear DS was just fine.

LB so sorry DP is being a PITA. Does he realize you're not only looking after your DD but another one who he can't see just yet, too? How dare he question your ability to take care of her! I'm sorry, I hope it gets better.

Gruff playing in the snow with DH sounds amazing! Really gives you a chance to see what it will be like when you have your own One of the best days of our relationship - probably of my life - was spent in the snow in Cenral Park. Snow days are few and far between in New York, but we had gotten over a foot over night in a freak storm so everything was cancelled. We spent the day in the snow and the evening in a few cozy bars. Was lovely

Have been reading this book my bossy friend gave me and I'm totally at it. She is the queen of unsolicited advice (should've tipped me off, then, right?) and warned me that the book was a bit old, but said she really enjoyed reading it. Well, the advice is so adamant, dismissive and antiquated that it's laughable really. It's called "Pregnancy" and it's by Gordon something or other. first published in the 70's and the edition I have is from 95. Just as an example, it emphatically swears that the best treatment for "threatened abortion" is complete bedrest only allowing for breaks to use the toilet. Also suggests that if your baby wakes after its morning nap and is still "wakeful" that you should "mother him for a while" WTF does that mean!?!?!? DDH keeps telling me to stop reading it because I'm obviously just looking for things that will offend me/to make fun of!

kayzr · 04/02/2009 10:11

LBOT, It snowed everyday I was in New York and I was amazed how everything kept going. Especially after watching the news over the past fews days. New York just carried on as normal, even the horse carriages were still running.

Central Park looked amazing in the snow.

NatalieJane · 04/02/2009 10:19

Morning

Worst nights awake sleep I can remember for a long time, DS1 was up all night with ear ache, DH has taken him to the docs, Mikey had me up twice, which although could be worse, it could have been better as well, and then because I spent most of the night half sat half led trying to hold DS1's ear while trying not to fall asleep on him and squashing the life-- out of him I now am hobbling about like a 90 year old, what a bloody whinger I am! I wouldn't mind as much, because DS1 obviously isn't at school, I could have slept this afternoon knowing I didn't have to get up to go and get him from school, but of course the bloody HV is due out at 1 - slap bang in the middle of DS2's sleep time...

...and I have 3 loads of washing to wash, dry and iron, (and that's your lot's fault, if I hadn't have been gabbing on here yesterday, I'd have done my quota for yesterday, now I'm behind!)

...and I have to clean the bathroom.

...and I need to hoover.

...and I need to get all of that done while running around after them all, and while listening to the sodding poorly voice

Roll on bed time.

Ast, have you enrolled DH in a bit of the old.... erm.... well, shagging?

Diege · 04/02/2009 10:20

at that book LBOX...stop reading it!!!!!!! That day in NY does sound blissful...
I only have one donut left now GYO and KAYZ, so sorry, I have to keep it, it being my last rolo and all..
TINKS, enjoy taking dd2 to nursery - I'm sure they will all fuss and coo over her
Right, onto another script..they've not been too bad today, a few have scraped through
