Quick tip, Diege - the elastic digging in might not last - as your bump grows, it will move down your bump (at 30 weeks, mine is only ca. 1" above my belly button). Not much use to your current comfort, but maybe worth hanging onto!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 16/01/2009 11:09

OMG- got bitten by the shopping bug yet again!!!! have just put in another order for DD for some more holiday dresses from uttam- Diege DH isn't happy i've found another palce to get good bargains from as i've spent £42 in less than 24hrs with them!!

Then i've just put another massive verbaudet order in.... comes to a bargain total of about £65... i have got 2 duvet covers and pillowcases, a duvet, a maternity band for me, Baby's cot bumper, a lampshade for the DC's room, a baby toy for my sis's DD and for the baby, 4 sheets for the pram and moses basket and cot etc, 3 for the cot, 2 fitted moses basket sheets, 3 lots of storage tub sets for DC's, and i'm pretty sure there's something else aswell... but can't think...

Collecting DS from nursery, then getting the bus to my mums with them, she's having them overnight, then i'm off to order my pram this afternoon, and get the DC's some vests each... and some last bits for the nappy cake i'm making for my sister's DD.

prob wont be about anymore today, DH is taking me out for a few drinks (J2O for me ) and then for something to eat- a surprise.... i have a craving for KFC though after a thread mentioned it last night.... wonder if he'll be a cheap-skate and take me there to keep me happy??? I'm thinking he'll want indian thoguh as there's a lovely indian restaraunt in town.... we'll see.

Diege · 16/01/2009 12:04

Ooh GLASK t6hat sounds a lovely day you have planned there, and the bliss of a lie-in tomorrow too . What are we like with our return trips to Uttam website Still, the extra p&p is worth it.
STAR, good top there - yes, may be worth holding on to them; had a mad impulse to snip the elastic in the band on the under-the-bump ones, but I'm sure I'd regret plus could re-sell. I may have one more look at just one more pair (need skinny ones) but then that's it!
Any news on LG&T?

tinkisfourtyweeks · 16/01/2009 12:14

good shopping glas
i have lampshade have just assembled now dad just to put up come on baby lbl

NatalieJane · 16/01/2009 12:43

Hello

Sound's like it's all go for LG&T C'mon Tink, the babies could share a birthday

I was very brave and went to town, half the shops are gone It's the first time I've been in since before xmas, Woolies has obviously gone, Adams is no more, Clintons and another card shop have gone, MKone dead, a local clothes shop is all boarded up, it isn't a very big town anyway and now most the shops are empty. And it was so quiet in there, was barely anyone else shopping - makes you wonder where it's all going to end doesn't it?

It was really quite depressing, but I got some clothes, and then when we got home, door bell went, one of DS1's dinner ladies at the door, she only lives round the corner so we have spoken before, just general chit chat sort of thing, but she bought us a baby record book I thought it was really nice of her, so have gone from looking all sad eyed at empty shop fronts, to getting annoyed at the utter shite that is in the clothes shops (really, maybe I am getting too old for high fashion?! Found myself looking at stuff thinking "I'll freeze in that" or "that neckline is too low" or "that would go nice with baby sick stains".... ) and then she turns up with this lovely book, she's made my day

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 16/01/2009 13:07

Hi Nat

Sad about the shops and the book sounds lovely

Was Mickey warm and comfy in the Bugaboo nest thing? So excited about getting mine I cant wait!

Tink- thinking of you, fingers cross the lampshade is the key item as someone said

Diege/ Glask- sounds like you both are giving Tink a run for her money on the retail therapy! Sounds like great bargains

Heebee- hello, I remember you- good luck with the tests, do you know when you get results?

Ast- great news about the hosp bag!

Hi Star and everyone else.

My MW has referred to see my consultant as my palpatations/ breathing issues have got worse, its now happening 10 times a day! MW still thinks its prob ok but wants it checked. Downside is appt is not til 27th Jan!

Anyone doing anything exciting for the weekend?

Diege · 16/01/2009 13:07

Aww NAT that's so kind of your neighbour to do that . Restores your faith in human nature and all that. Know what you mean about the shops, bridge street Warrington is like a ghost town.
Can't see any sign of birth announcement etc for LG&T - maybe still at it??
So quiet on here - hope everyone is busy shopping!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 16/01/2009 13:08

Sorry Nat mean Mikey. I work with a Mickey so typing it comes too easy!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 16/01/2009 13:09

Hi Diege
how was jingles?

Diege · 16/01/2009 13:14

Hi GYO!! Hope you can get your health problems sorted. Had similar thing myself with dd2 (racing pulse (100 plus), really 'strong' heartbeats 4 or 5 times a day that left me dizzy. Was never referred but midwife noted it, and thought it was just to do with increased blood flow etc Hopefully you'll get some answers .

Oh and can't believe I missed HEEBS post! So good to hear that you're hopefully going to get some answers, and yes can't wait until you are honking and on the wagon!

Oh and STAR will kill me ; I've gone and snipped the elastic on the inside of the band on the under the bump jeans .Just so much nicer a jean than the over the bump ones so wanted to get some wear out of them. Of course they feel great now, but the test will be the school run which I feel they will fail miserably . May have a sneaky look on Topshop website

Diege · 16/01/2009 13:15

Jingles was great thanks GYO!, though felt quite knackered after . Hadn't realised pre-bump how tiring all the bouncing up and down on knees etc things were!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 16/01/2009 13:19

Ooh Diege- your description sounds exactly right, makes me dizzy, light headed and legs go wobbly! Wasnt really sure if it was worth mentioning but MW thought the consultant should see me.

Glad the jeans are comfy now and JIngles was fun! Can imagine having a bump makes a difference

Diege · 16/01/2009 13:28

Sounds like we may have had the same thing GYO - I remember how weak my legs felt when it happened, and mw would make me sit on lie-down thing (preg brain) in her office, testing and retesting my pulse. Will be interesting to hear what consultant says!
Ok, I'll come clean. My name is diege and I'm a maternityjeans-oholic . I have just ordered a pair of skinny indigo ones from Topshop . I'm sure these ones are the life changing pair though, and I can stop any time I want!

Diege · 16/01/2009 13:33

Huge Congratulations to Gin on the birth of her daughter!

Her weight and name are posted on her post-natal May07 thread.
A blimmin' good weight and the bestest most beautiful name in the world

I'll leave it for Gin to post it up.

C'mon Tink! Make it a babylicious weekend

I'm on a roll to get things finished. Bought the last few bits for my bag 'tis all done now. Bought crib and cot mattresses, breast milk bags and muslin squares plus a newborn snowsuit from M&P which is just gorgeous

I have nothing else to get other than bottles for EBM, but I haven't decided which type yet, and I won't be needing them until about 6 weeks anyhoo.

Gyo I have been having the palpatations....not nice...not that often though, be good for you to get checked out.

Crap I've forgotten everything else in all the birth excitement

Congrats LG&T that's fab news!!!

Finally scored in the maternity wear department Just to add myself to the list of the shopaholics...I just found two pair of lightweight tan trousers in Gap for £3.99 and £4.99 respectively! Plus, I bought a long black cardigan that I don't think is actually maternity - it wasn't as cheap at £19.99, but I'm sure I'll live in it. Also got a pair of black stretchy trousers from M&S that I can wear long tops over.

Diege Gap had mat jeans on sale too if you're interested

Glask have fun on your date!

C'mon BabyTinks!

tinkisfourtyweeks · 16/01/2009 15:28

well have had my chicken korma for lunch and i have been eating lots and lots of chocolate and sweets. i slept really well last night 2.
and drum roll

the lampshade is up looks gorgeous!!
all we need now is tinklett

Cosmogirl · 16/01/2009 16:34

Tink - I'm not sure a korma is going to shift the Tinklett - think a vindaloo might be in order

Diege · 16/01/2009 17:11

Just read May07 thread - lovely name LG&T and good weight .
LBOX, nearesr gap for maternity things York I think (although maybe Manchester branch does them??? Will investigate...)Really wish they did internet sales! You've done rerally well with those sale bargains - very
Great that bag is done Astarte; sounds like you've had a bit of a shopping spree too
TINKS, as COSMO says don't think a Korma going to get things going ; as long as you enjoyed it though!
Have discovered a new, very moreish snack - warm oven baked croissant filled with chocolate spread. Mmmmm...

Astarte · 16/01/2009 17:37

Dh was shocked at my shopping this morning I think, but I'm done, need nothing else now. Well maybe some fitted pram sheets, but my mum will likely get those and flat sheets will do in the meantime.

More importantly, I've booked my beauty appointment for the 6th Feb. I'm having Indian head massage followed by as full body as she can do with Lymph drainage and finishing with Reflexology to try to start me off . I'll be relaxing for the whole afternoon as Dh will have the kids and I can't wait.
I'm sooooo excited!!

Tink if you get to Monday and your sweep are we having another go at the sweepstake?
