lastboxoftampons · 14/01/2009 17:16

Had a root around Oxford Circus at lunch time and NOTHING! Next had ONE RACK of maternity stuff! I thought Top Shop would be great, but nope! H&M had the best selection, but it was mostly over the bump stuff, etc. I did manage to buy a belly band from Top Shop, so I'm going to give that a try. Yeesh, this sucks! I'm not used to walking into a store and being so restricted in selection! LOL. I sounds like such a spoiled brat, don't I!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 17:35

maybe try looking on verbaudet if need be LBOT then use the discount codes. I've had some maternity things from there and they are ok.

Astarte · 14/01/2009 17:38

Aw! Tink. Maybe try to pretend they're BH and ignore them if you can. I know it's easier said than done, but imagine how exhausted (mentally & physically) you'll be if you have another couple of days of pre-labour?

Actually, maybe you could ask the m/w to examine/sweep tomorrow, it might give you a start or at least let you know if the pain you're in productive

tinkisdueanyday · 14/01/2009 18:48

good thinking astarte will ask midwife if nothing progresses. have had 2 more contractions since 5:30pm last one was 45 mins apart.

Evening all.

Physio was good today she gave me some relief but as she predicted it hasn't lasted very long. She said that my hip and pelvis are very loose and that my right hip is a lot higher than it should be. She has put me on crutches and given me a body tube grip thing that I have to wear until my support belt arrives........

Have been in a lot of pain tonight, even after the physio and do feel totally wiped out.

Physio also commented on my back her words were " if you imagine that your spine is like a bicycle chain, you have 5 links that are fused together." So she is going to get me physio appointments after the baby is born to put me right as she said....

Anyway enough of me going on again... How are you all. I am so of all your new prams I will be making do.....

kayzr · 15/01/2009 00:06

Argh!!!!

I don't feel all that tired and DS2 is still awake, currently getting his top up from DH.

Tink, I hope things are happening for you.

NatalieJane · 15/01/2009 07:30

Good morning

Haven't got time to catch up, but wanted to check on Tink (c'mon baby Tink, you can do it!!!) and I also wanted to just scream and shout from the roof tops that I AM BACK IN MY JEANS Tried them on last week, they fitted, but belly was still too soft, everytime I moved it spilled out, not a nice look, so had another week of yanking up my smallest maternity jeans but no more! HOO bloody RAHHHHH!!

Can you tell I am in a good mood today?

Right, must get on, will catch up properly later (if I'm not too busy buying clothes! T'is almost the best bit of having a new baby, a new wardrobe to follow )

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/01/2009 08:12

Morning i got the last text from tink at 8.55pm last night, and she said she was still having things 'going on' but not much... she's got her MW app at 5pm today i think she said so she's hoping she'll do a sweep for her.

DH is off today so i wont be about much after this post, only popped online to check my ebay!!

oh- and well done Nat for getting into your jeans already!! I can't wait to get back into mine!!

Astarte · 15/01/2009 08:22

It's the best feeling post pg when those jeans do up and there's no squishy dig-in. I can't wait.

I have stages of jeans ready, about 8-9 pairs of varying cuts sizes. I have them arranged in order that I'll get back into them with my teeny tiny ones at the bottom.

See....I have found time to arrange my post-baby jeans, but have a half packed hospital bag

Hope you had a good feeding experience last night Kayz, glad to hear you sounded a bit brighter yesterday

Is anyone having any odd dreams, not of the bizarre Nativity kind we heard of .......infidelity ones about their Dh?
I think I remember feeling this way through the latter stages of my other pg's, but it's visiting me now and is horrid.
I woke up this morning feeling sick at the thought that Dh wasn't actually going to work . I do tell him about these dreams and he is brilliant about them, lots of cuddles and reassurance, but it isn't stopping them.

Sorry for me, me, me.

Tink & LG&T, any babies this morning? Have the texts/calls started yet wondering if you've had 'em?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/01/2009 08:35

Morning all

Feeling hugely chirpy this morning for no apparent reason, but I will enjoy it as I am sure my boss will pi** all over it shortly!

Nat- fab news about the jeans. And so soon too- you should be really chuffed! I keep looking at my jeans longingly in the wardrobe and hoping that I can get back in them soon after birth but im not convinced.... since my thighs have taken all my wt gain (not gone anywhere else ) anyway hurray nat!

Love the idea of lining up the jeans Ast. Might do the same

Tink- been thinking of you, hope things get moving for you today.

Astarte- so glad someone else has mentioned the dreams thing! I've been having full on real nightmares, weirdo dreams for about two weeks - like gang rape by colleagues, muggings, riding in a fishing boat in the storm, DH not wanting baby, me not being ready for things and other things that make me wake up in a sweat... really horrible.

Do you find them so real you struggle to work out if you are dreaming or not?

Morning Glask!

Astarte · 15/01/2009 08:44

16 days left though eh Gyo

The dreams are horrible! When I wake I feel a bit disorientated and then it takes a while before I realise it is a dream, which seems to panic me. So yes, they feel very real.

This morning Dh got up without me (left me in bed with the LO), I woke up and he was gone, which made the feeling that the dream was real even worse.
When I went downstairs he has making his lunch, so I offered to help, but only so I could look through his bag for work

I did confess this to him and he gave me a kiss and cuddle and called me a nutter & said "not long to go now", so he obv. recognises my unstable state atm

As if the latter stages of pg are not bad enough

Astarte · 15/01/2009 08:48

TINK!!

YOU'RE DUE TODAY!!!! Blimey

Christ on a bike, that means I'm next
Cross your legs you two, whilst you're both still pg, mine seems ages away!

Cosmogirl · 15/01/2009 09:00

Morning all,

Labour vibes for Tink.... Well done Nat on the jeans - that must feel great but when you say shopping for clothes, do you mean for you or Mikey?

kayzr · 15/01/2009 09:10

Morning,

I'm not talking to Nat, I never ever got back into my clothes after DS1. I had to buy 4 pairs of size 16 trousers and that is all I have.

Come on BabyTink!!!!!

Really looking forward to going to York tomorrow, it'll be nice to meet the girls from Dec 08. We can all moan about sleepless nights together.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/01/2009 09:18

Morning Kay
How was feeding last night?

Is this the first time you've met the ladies from Dec 08 grp?

Very envious for a trip to york!

kayzr · 15/01/2009 09:32

Feeding was quite good, he seems to prefer the left side though as getting him latched on to the right is quite hard.

It is the first time, there are only 3 of us though. I am planning a trip to London though to meet the rest of them. I love London and the local paper has an offer on cheap tickets.

kayzr · 15/01/2009 09:33

Oh yeah MIL is coming round this morning. She moaned she hasn't seen the boys in over a week. Well don't go to the lakes then!!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/01/2009 09:45

ooh Kay- let us know when youre coming to london, we do a wagon meet too!

Glad feeding was ok, does it make you feel happier doing some feeding?

NatalieJane · 15/01/2009 10:36

Thanks everyone I'd take a bow but I think my button might pop off!

Cosmo, clothes are for me, Mikey is still wearing new stuff every day, don't think he's had anything on twice yet, usually people buying gifts would go for the bigger sizes (3-6m) but because he is so small, everyone decided we'd never have got enough small clothes for him so bought 'tiny baby' so we have mountains of tiny clothes, mountains of new born size, mountains of 0-3, and then about 4 outfits for 3-6m!

Kay, glad you had a better night, I think your 'take it as it comes' aproach is for the best, takes a lot of pressure of the both of you.

Tink, a good night's sleep is a good sign Really hope MW will check you, am sure something must happening in the wings

Ast, LOL at the jeans all lined up Now go do your bag!

Am going to add the birth details to the list, have been meaning to do it since he was born!

Morning everyone!

Just had the mammoth task of catching up on the last two days but managed to do it

Hope everyone is having a good morning.

Thanks Gyo for the tip off on sainsburys offers, I went yesterday and stocked up so my hospital bag, although not officially packed, has all the stuff that is needed for it packed up together ready to be chucked in.

I got some brand new mamas and papas fitted cot sheets off ebay this week which were a baragin and they have arrived and are lovely.

Have also got a bath support thing for £1! Had to pay postage of course but I am loving all the bargains.

We are going to my uncle and aunts this weekend who had twins (boy and girl) 2 years ago and they have got LOADS of stuff for us apparently. Aunt says she has girls mini boden stuff still with labels in them I am so excited.

Nat - well done for getting into your jeans!!

Tink - hope you're ok and not getting too impatient

Ses - The pushchair we got was £185 from babies r us.(they have vouchers in their catalogues to use) Its the bebeconfort streety. Faces both ways, comes with car seat, cosy toes and raincover and all the loola stuff fits on it too. We got a new loola carrycot for it off ebay for £55 and its worth £170. Pushchair folds up really small and weighs 8.5kg. It can also be folded with one hand. Its really easy and I love it. Decent size shopping basket in the bottom aswell

lastboxoftampons · 15/01/2009 10:55

I don't think I should be taken off the syndicate just yet - my TIME passed, but if your baby comes today, Tink, I'd still be the closest!!!! Hoping for your sake she comes today!

Astarte and GYO So sorry about the horrible dreams. I have pretty vivid dreams all the time and I've had the ones where DH is with someone else - I hate that feeling when you wake up and don't know for sure if it's real or not A few nights ago I had a horrible dream where I had the baby, but then dropped him somewhere and didn't coem back until the next day and I realized he hadnt' been fed the whole time. Was having flashbacks to Trainspotting! Was awful

NJ Hooray for old jeans!!!! That is mighty impressive!!! Good for you!

LB Sorry about the pain and the bike chain spine! ouch! Is there something they can do to correct it?

tinkisfourtyweeks · 15/01/2009 11:07

ok here no contractions.
trying not to think about it @ least it is my due date

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/01/2009 11:12

Hi Gruff- great news with the hosp bag stuff. Mine isnt packed yet but it a big bag in lounge. Need to unearth some bags...

LBOT- weird about the dreams isnt it. Hope you dont get them all the way through.

How is the clothes search going?
