So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

Neddie - forgot to say huge congratulations on the twins. I wonder whether they'll be any others due in Sept. I've got my dating scan on Thursday (cause hospital think I'll be 10+4 whereas I think I'll be around 9 weeks) so guess I'll find out how many beans are in there then. Suspect only one but twins do run in my Dad's family.

iamamummy - thank goodness its just not me who's wierd! I'm glad you woke ur partner up - I would have too on that one. The vividness is really bizarre. I don't really have dreams of any note when not pg so quite wierd. But definitely glad I'm not on my own.

Feeling both excited and really anxious about the scan on Thursday. I've had 2 MMCs in the past and am not too sure how I'd cope with another but trying to keep positive and hope for good news

Neddie · 02/02/2009 20:10

Thanks. i know I've already had 2 sprogs- one as a reasonably young mum and one at 35- nearly geriatric but twins-that's really scary and at my age even more scary. i hope everyone's scans go well. i will have a nuchal fold scan soon and maybe this new blood test. Last time i had the test i had the same chance of problems as a 16 year old so i decided against an amnio.

Neddie · 02/02/2009 20:12

oh. ps. Grandad was a twin. My mum only remembered yesterday (how could you forget?)

lemonmoon · 02/02/2009 20:16

Oh yes - the dreams! My favourite so far was the one where I travelled to another dimension...

At least I know that when I'm awake at 6am I have company somewhere at least

Congratulations on the twins Neddie!

cautiousmumtobe · 02/02/2009 20:23

Off to bed soon to look forward to the 3am awakening! It seems so unfair that being knackered already is exasperated by mad dreams and random morning wakeness. Oh the joys of pregnancy.....

TrixieBelden · 02/02/2009 21:01

I can usually sleep for England but have also been waking early -- though I eventually get back to sleep (just in time to be woken by DD, of course). And am hugely, sometimes painfully windy and bloated in the evenings, exacerbated when I overeat. Peppermint tea is good for the wind, and if you've got heartburn, midwives usually say Gaviscon is okay (though it'll make you constipated).

I had awful heartburn with DD and had to sleep sitting up in a chair for a few nights! The only way to avoid it, for me, was to eat really small meals every few hours and to skip anything spicy or strong. God, was it boring.

Had a vaguely filthy dream about Barack Obama's chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, last night, which I am choosing to blame on being pg.

Congrats on the twins, Neddie!

silentlywondering · 02/02/2009 21:49

Neddie - congrats on the twins

Pooka - I am suffering the same bloating as you, I also find that if I have been on my feet for a while I get aches in abdominal region.

Had my booking app today and they failed to get any blood out of me so have given me the forms and told me to take them with me to epau and ask them to do the blood tests if everything is ok with my scan on the 16th!

BabyLady · 03/02/2009 09:46

Hi all, wow lots of posts since Friday!! Had the day off yesterday too which was awesome as I am wiped out by late afternoon and the tube ride home just finished me off.

Cautious - I have my scan on Thursday too and I am starting to freak out about what will be there. Is our weeding anniversary on Thursday so will be rotten news if its a no go.

Neddie - congrats on the twins. I am a twin myself (identical though so not hereditary) and was wondering at the start of pg whether I was having twins as was super hungry and thought I started spreading around the middle a little early. When I had my first scan at 8 weeks just one bubba!

I am going away on holiday for two weeks on Friday so when I get back lots more people will have had their scans. Looking forward to hearing all the good news (positive vibes to everyone).

iamamummy · 03/02/2009 10:06

silentlywondering · 03/02/2009 10:29

I know how you feel. My two are off school/nursery today and are arguing non stop.

silentlywondering · 03/02/2009 11:02

Feeling really sick and headachy as well.

GracieGirl · 03/02/2009 11:06

I went for my scan yesterday at 10 weeks and unfortunately the baby is dead. I've been sent home for a week to miscarry, though no signs of bleeding or pain yet, I'm booked in for surgery next week for if I haven't miscarried by then.

Thanks for everyones support so far, I'm off to find a more appropriate thread to post on.

I wish you all lots of luck with your pregnancies and I'll pop back if I have any good news later in the year.

BabyLady · 03/02/2009 11:21

iamamummy · 03/02/2009 12:03

oh gracie im so sorry for your loss. sending you lots of hugs xxxxx thinking of you xxx

bobber · 03/02/2009 12:21

I am so so sorry Gracie. I cannot begin to understand what you are going through. Take really good care of yourself, and, as silently so rightly said, give yourself lots of time. Hugs to you x

cautiousmumtobe · 03/02/2009 12:36

Gracie I am so so sorry for your loss. Make sure you take plenty of time to deal with what's happened. I made the mistake of going back to work almost straight away the first time I had a mc and it took me ages to get over it. I learnt from that experience and was signed off for 4 weeks the second time it happened. Talk to your GP and I'm sure they'll support you with sick notes for whatever time you need to recover.

I hope this next week goes as easily as possible for you and that you recover from this soon.

smileycat · 03/02/2009 13:21
