So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

For those being sick. Although haven't been sick at all this time (don't worry -those who aren't-I have spoken to others who have had both chunderful pregnancies and also chunderless)I have a horrid taste in my mouth like chalk. These all helped when I had my first puky pregnancies.
Fizzy water/soda water
apples
Mashed potatoes
Jacobs crackers
cooked tomatoes
plain fish steaks like cod
Mangoes -fresh are better
plain pasta (cooked obviously)
Hope this helps

WelshJellyBelly · 04/02/2009 19:15

Evening all

Just a quick update - had follow up epu scan today, which has also doubled up as my dating scan, and all is well Measures as 9 weeks and had an edd of 9.9.09 . (Have updated stats thread) Saw heartbeat as clear as day and the buds where the arms and legs are developing. Was a wriggly little thing already!

Welcome to the newbies - fingers crossed for all the upcoming scans.

kookykid · 04/02/2009 21:28

Just a quick one, so I don't fall off the thread.
I am officially 10 weeks! 12 week scan 2 weeks today. HURRY UP!!!

Welcome WelshJellyBelly (and other newbies).
BFP is what you've just had = BigFatPositive!! Congratulations!

Detoxdiva great news on your scan and what a fab official EDD!

Hopefully will be around more tomorrow.

peachygirl · 05/02/2009 07:40

Good morning.
I too had an early scan yesterday and all was well.
Thank for the tips on the foods neddie. I've been feeling much worse this time round.

Neddie · 05/02/2009 08:28

I added myself to the stats yesterday and realised I was the oldest on there. (41 and 7 months). Had some spotting yesterday but it stopped almost immediately. None this morning. My nerves are shattered and I haven't even had the nuchal fold scan yet.Must think positive I had two healthy heartbeats and everything was normal at 6 weeks which Doc says good sign not to miscarry early. I could strangle anyone who says they enjoy being pregnant.

weeglenny · 05/02/2009 09:44

Good morning ladies

I'm feeling quite of everyone that's had their scans so far - I haven't even got a date through for mine yet so I'm getting pretty impatient...

I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself because I feel permanently sick, but having caught up on this thread I really sympathise with those of you who have really bad MS

TigerFeet · 05/02/2009 10:13

silentlywondering I'm in exactly the same position as you, I am still being sick fairly often (only once yesterday ) but not nearly as often as I was. My GP has said that there isn't much more they can do, as long as I'm keeping small amounts of food and fluid down she is happy. She's told me to keep an eye on my mouth, if my saliva dries up that's a sign I'll need to be hospitalised for rehydration - how do you find your saliva levels? I am drooling a lot (TMI perhaps ) so obviously not dehydrating just yet. I have the constant nausea too but tbh I'm just so grateful not to be throwing up every mouthful that goes in that I can live with it for now.

Great to hear about all these scans . Neddie poor you, your nerves must be frayed. I do know what you mean about strangling people - I loathed being pregnant last time and it would seem that this pregnancy is going to be more uncomfortable than the last one.

My scan is booked for early March - a whole month away! BOoking in appt next Tuesday.

lemonmoon · 05/02/2009 10:22

Morning everyone. Had another 5.30am start today, so feel like I've been up for weeks...

Glad to hear good news of early scans. Mine is in early march too, tigerfeet, and it seems a loooong way away. Now that I'm finally getting my head round the fact that I'm actually pregnant I'd like to have the scan asap.

I'm not feeling nauseous except in the evenings, coupled with horrendous bloating, so the last couple of nights I've ended up in bed by 9, because it's the only way I can get anywhere near comfortable. It doesn't matter since by that time I'm unbelievably knackered, so I'm no company at all for poor dh anyway. Roll on week 12 I say...

audreyraines · 05/02/2009 12:46

Neddie, poor you, hope all okay. I'm hoping to enjoy pregnancy soon, but got to get rid of the vomiting first
was drooling over gorgeous clothes on isabella oliver yesterday, not that i can afford them ... well, maybe just one

silentlywondering · 05/02/2009 12:47

Brr I'm cold.

DD is in school and my mum has offered to collect her.

DS is at home and I am cross with his nursery because they decided they were only open to paying parents today. All children on a free nursery place have to stay home!

It's snowing again, my belly is lower than it was but still solid, still being sick and am getting twinges/stretching pains. Shouldn't complain as theoretically it's all good but feel lousy and tired and need sleep. Didn't finish work till 11pm last night and was looking forward to being able to catch up on the sleep whilst ds was at nursery.

peachygirl · 05/02/2009 13:31

I've added to the stats thread

audreyraines · 05/02/2009 13:51

That's strange about the nursery Silenty, did they give reasons for this? Have they got less staff at work because of the snow or something? Still, it doesn't seem right.

audreyraines · 05/02/2009 13:52

ps. silenty, where are you that is snowing? i'm secretly hoping for more snow in london

Neddie · 05/02/2009 13:56

No more bleeding. Phew, but had terrible griping pains- I think I have a tummy upset from the hormones going around my body. Still not sick but have managed to avoid eating the open tin of Quality Street in the living room for days ,so I know I must be feeling bad.
HTB home from Germany tomorrow (if they can land at Bristol)- it's been 3 weeks since I last saw him. He works in Pharmaceuticals so I think he's been quizzing any friendly doctors for advice on geriatric mothers carrying twins.

honestlyandtruly · 05/02/2009 14:44

Hi everyone. Seems like ages since I last posted. Had some bad news a couple of days ago when I went for my scan. The foetus is only measuring 6wks 2 days and I'm 8 wks 1 day. The heartbeat is also very weak, 40-50bpm when it should be 150bpm. The doctor says the pregnancy will not survive and has booked me in for another scan in 10 days, if I've not miscarried by then. He has also given me progesterone pessaries to use twice a day, although I'm not sure why as he was so certain the foetus wouldn't survive.

I live overseas where there are some language and cultural barriers so I'm not entirely sure what this all means and what will happen. The doctor is quite abrupt, doesn't explain things fully and no-one else in his office speaks English. I think I might phone nhsdirect for some further advice.

The worst thing is continuing to be pregnant but knowing there will be no baby at the end of it, and just waiting for the miscarriage to start.

I think I've come to terms with the failed pregnancy but just looking forward to this part being over and trying again at some point in the future. I have a beautiful toddler so already feel blessed in many ways.

Good luck ladies, and wishing you all successful pregnancies!

So, so awful. I'm so sorry. I think phoning NHS Direct is a good idea - I can't imagine going through that without all the information I could get my hands on. You poor thing.

JRocks · 05/02/2009 18:18

So sorry to hear this honestlyandtruly, I hope NHS Direct offer you some support

smileycat · 05/02/2009 18:49

Honestly so sorry to hear your news big hug (((hug)))

TigerFeet · 05/02/2009 19:16

Honestlyandtruly I'm so sorry .

silentlywondering · 05/02/2009 19:28

take care of yourself honestly. I hope NHS direct can give you some answers.

bobber · 05/02/2009 20:40

What dreadful news, honestly. You really do need further advice & support on this - can you see any other doctors for further help where you are? Is there a British consulate or something similar with contacts for English speaking doctors possibly?

kookykid · 05/02/2009 20:55

honestly so sorry to read your post. So awful that you are going through this. I think ringing NHS direct is a good idea and hope they might be able to give you some answers.

AllGoingSouth · 05/02/2009 21:47

Honestlyandtruly - so sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself.

Neddie - you are not the oldest, I am (43 and a bit). I haven't added myself on the stats thread yet. Only agreed to try for a second child cos convinced it wouldn't happen - oops!
