So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

Horray! Welcome everyone! Gotta love those BFPs!

Peachy, I have been having those same exaggerated PMT symptoms; crampy tummy and lower back ache. Congrats on the successful IVF!

I used the bbc parenting pregnancy calendar to work out my due date. Also, I like it becuase it gives you a good guide to what's going on in there!

Still at the PILs so hope to be posting a bit more regularly when I get home.

Hello!

I'm due on the 3rd Sept 2009. so 5 weeks today I think. I'm 30yrs old, never been pregnant, haven't got a clue! I only got married in October and my husband works away so I wasn't expecting a BFP just yet!
No definate symptoms yet, just felt odd for the last 3 weeks, I've been convinced I was pregnant since about 2 days after having sex as I just felt different. But I told myself i was just being paranoid so only did a test last night!

Everything smells funny!

Happy New Year Everyone!! With luck, we should all have 4-month-olds this time next year!

Had a horrible night convinced my pregnancy was over, but still feeling queasy this morning. This is so stressful!

Welcome newbies! Congrats on your BFPs!

lixanismapolium · 01/01/2009 12:24

I just realised that we're NOT ALLOWED the do the normal post-Christmas diet!!!! WOW!!! What a bonus!

Anyone got any ideas for New Years resolutions? I have explained to my 3 yr old that on New Years Day all little girls make a promise to be nice to their mummies this year! So far so good ...

peachyfox · 01/01/2009 16:34

Hello everyone, and a happy new year from me too!

We crawled in about 5am, approx 3 hours after I first told dh I wouldn't mind going home soon... I had a tiny half glass of champagne - Is that very bad? All my friends were watching me like hawks to see if I was drinking or whether they could start gossiping about a possible pg...

No real symptoms today about from sore bbs and the vaguest nausea. But I did have bad cramping yesterday.

I want more symptoms!

J

lixanismapolium · 01/01/2009 17:57

Hope you have all had a good day. Mine was going well until I noticed a very slight bit of bleeding about half an hour ago and now I'm in a panic.

I know people say that a bit of blood is not always bad news during early pregnancy, but have any of you ladies bled in earlier pregnancies that have been OK? With DD I never had the slightest bit of anything.

OP posts:
LittleCheese · 01/01/2009 18:20

Welcome all newbies to the thread this is nice now there are a few of us to share this with wigglesmum I am also very nervous about this pregnancy. I think its because last time round I was quite oblivious to the many things that can happen during pregnacy.
Lix I hope you are ok? I havnt experienced this but I do have a close friend who had a slight bleed at 4 weeks and again at 12 weeks and is now almost 20 weeks with no further problems. Have you called anyone profesional for advice?

peachyfox · 01/01/2009 18:27

Hey Lixanismapollum,

I would say lie down and breathe deeply to help you relax - have a good old talk with your tummy!

This happened to a friend of mine several times in her pregnancy and she was just fine (she's the one who swore by tummy talk). I've also seen several posts on this site from people who've had a bit of bleeding and had no further problems. Also I've heard its particularly common to get a little blood around 5-6 weeks, when your period would have been due.

Thinking of you,

Jx

kookykid · 01/01/2009 18:33

Lix, Sorry to hear about bleeding. I know how worried you must be. What colour was it? And how much?

There are loads and loads of stories on here about women who have bleeds during pregnancy, so it is really common. Try not to panic and get in touch with your GP and ask for an early scan.

Thinking of you too.

lixanismapolium · 01/01/2009 19:29

Thanks for your encouragement. It was a really tiny amount and I am just going to take it easy for a couple of days (sounds like a good excuse!)

My GP is already arranging an early scan for me so I don't think there's anything more that can be done.

Going to go and put my feet up and watch a movie with a nice creamy hot chocolate and maybe I'll try a bit of the tummy talking too!

GracieGirl · 01/01/2009 19:33

Lix, Get in touch with your GP tomorrow and try not to panic (easy for us to say I know!)

Just wondered what everyone thoughts were on how soon to tell people about the pregnancy.
I work in A&E as a nurse and have daily close contact with patients with all sorts of nasty infectious diseases, chicken pox, diarrhoea, malaria, TB, etc etc, as well as my job involving lifting patients and pushing trolleys (that weigh 150kgs before you put a patient on them). Oh and helping with xrays. Then there's always the delight of violent patients, completely unavoidable in A&E. Until I make it public I can't do much to protect myself from my own job! The staff are brilliant at protecting pregnant staff but at 5 weeks it feels really odd to tell anyone.

GracieGirl · 01/01/2009 19:36

Lix, feet up with hot chocolate sounds great!

LittleRascal · 01/01/2009 19:48

Hi there. Can i join too!!?
Found out on christmas eve-abit of a surprise! was planning to start trying soon anyway but some little swimmer must have found its way!

Age: 30
Previous: 1 DS (8 months)
(missed miscarriage before that at 10 weeks)
Emotion: Anxious / nervous / am i mad!

LittleRascal · 01/01/2009 19:53

Lixan- i agree- take it easy, feet up, apparently eat bananas and tummy talk sounds great!. also monitor the colour of the blood spotting.

Gracie- I would tell as soon as to your supervisor. I was in similar situation and risk factors were too high to do alot of things. better safe than sorry. i would avoid alot of those things, esp the xrays!

GracieGirl · 01/01/2009 20:09

Little Rascal - I forgot to say - I am the supervisor! So I could tell the management but they're only around office hours and generally in their offices and not out helping in A&E. Generally its me in charge of the shift, but "hands-on" in charge not "able to hide" in charge.
Possibly going to have to tell a few of the other nurses I work with regularly so they look after me.

Spending my evening reading up on pregnancy on the internet - I haven't got a clue except for what I've picked up in A&E - the bad bits I don't want to know about.

TrixieBelden · 01/01/2009 21:16

Hi all - Popping in to say I'd like to join you and am looking forward to getting to some more September mums. I'm 37, and DH and I only just decided to try for no. 2 (having given away ALL our baby stuff ages ago, don't I feel idiotic now), and boom, here we are, so I'm reeling a bit. I had a fairly ugly pregnancy first time around and am determined to not be so sick and weak and HUGE (ie, gain 4 stone) this time.

V sore boobs here, sleepy, vague nausea punctuated by two near-vom moments. And yet -- still exciting!

I've added myself to the list...

well add me to the Paranoid list, now that I had a pink tissue after a wee this afternoon.

To add to the guilt trip this was immediately following a tearful hour-long discussion with DP about whether we would really be able to cope with a baby.

after pointlessly Googling 'pink discharge 5 weeks' for about three hours I am ready to accept that it is probably not a conclusive sign of anything! Never mind Lix - the general consensus on forums is that it sometimes happens and sometimes it doesnt. That it is sometimes a bad sign and sometimes it isnt at all - which in my world means - nothing to worry about. Staining and spotting happen in healthy pregnancies too and all is well .

however - I would be grateful for some reassuring nausea at the moment...

TrixieBelden · 01/01/2009 21:18

Know. Getting to KNOW some more September mums. Yikes.

bobber · 01/01/2009 21:42

Hello Can I join too please?

Got my BFP Boxing Day & very excited but very nervous too. Due 7 September - probably.

Im 40 & TTC No. 2 (DD Oct 05) since July & had 2 v.early m/c in that time. Last one was 3 Dec, so I'm in shock that I'm here already - have done 11 HPTs just to make sure ! My excuse is that Ive been checking the darkness this time (never got really strong hpts with either m/c preg). Now I'm paranoid that they are too dark & I've got twins on board - gulp . Bloomin' CB digital put me at 5+ weeks when I was only 4weeks 1 day - yikes!!!

Really looking forward to chatting with you all
