Morning all --
endymion - funny, I was apprehensive about telling my mother for much the same reasons. We have a good rhythm to our life with DD, my husband travels for work and I'm on my own quite a bit, and I worried she'd tell me I was mad for thinking I could take on another. But she was v pleased, v kind. I was surprised and so glad. Assuming this bean sticks, I'm going to ask her to come for a few weeks when DH goes back to work.
I'm realising how v little I remember about pregnancy from five years ago! I rang up my GP and am going to see her on the 13th. The midwives for the hospital we're choosing see patients out of our local surgery five minutes' walk away, hurray. But it's all baffling to me because I had DD in America, where generally you see an OB/GYN in her office throughout your pregnancy, and she did a lot of the scans there. And the tests have changed, too, haven't they I had the nuchal scan and triple-screen, but I gather the triple-screen has been superseded by the 'combined test'? Ugh, I don't know. Need to go pick up a book today and start educating myself.
LittleCheese et al.: the CM is something I definitely remember from last time! I had to graduate to full-size pads at about 2 months. Lovely.
Other things I remember that I'm NOT looking forward to: copious vomiting and fainting, achy pelvis and hips from those ligaments stretching, enormous, animalistic hunger. I'm serious, I CANNOT gain 3.5 stone again this time. My poor back was devastated by pregnancy and I had such a hard time getting about. I'm ringing my trainer at the gym today to set up an appointment and come up with an exercise plan. I run 3 miles 3x/week right now and would love to keep that up as long as I can.
Here's what didn't happen last time, though -- tea tastes so funny to me! Chalky and weak, and it's so disappointing as I really rely on my cuppa to start the day. Anyone else having taste/smell issues?
