Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

Hello everyone. Well it was back to the dr this am for me and my chest infection which has come back and I am feeling awful again. Now on the 2nd dose of antibiotics in as many weeks.

The GP suggested inhaling eucalyptus oil in a bowl of water, which I did, but as I was doing it I suddenly wondered if you should do that when pregnant. Of course I googled it and you are supposed to avoid it! Now I am panicing that I have done some damage. I only did it for a couple of minutes. Please reasure me. (he also tried to give me anitbiotics that you can't have when pregnant and it was only when I reminded him that he changed his mind) Oh the joys of the emergency doctor!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a lovely Valentines day!

Me and DP went to a Tapas restaurant and thenwent for s few drinks afterwards - ended up staying out till midnight! We haven't been out for ages and keep cancelling all our plans with people so it was ace! Had a few glasses of deliciuos Sangria that was just heaven.

Can barely contain myself with excitement for my scan on Thursday - what to do to make these next few days fly!

Feeling loads of movement now all the time, it's reasurring that baby is still there. I'm getting reallt big too and starting to feel really pregnant now. Looking forward to maternity leave like you wouldn't beleive

Love to everyone x

Phoenix · 15/02/2009 18:40

Gillyan - I'm with you on looking forward to maternity leave. I've just had 2wks off (1 sick and 1 on leave) and am going back Tuesday . It's been so nice been at home with ds.

Is anyone else finding baby names sooooooo hard. We thought we had agreed on both names but i'm not so sure about them now and anything else i like dh doesn't .

rubyriley · 15/02/2009 19:45

Welcome LittleDoe, you're right, movements have a wide range of when they happen; lots of people don't feel anything til well after 20 weeks, including second time mums, so really no need to worry.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I reckon M&S did a stonking trade with their dine for two, pity we can't enjoy the bottle of wine as not such a great deal without the wine!

We've been on a 160 mile round trip today to pick up a puppy (b'day present for 12 y o DS) He's earned this dog, showed his dedication over the last 6 months by laying the breakfast table and bringing me a cup of green tea in bed. He's also had to sign a contract, showing what his duties are I think I'm slightly mad to have a puppy (hungarian vizsla) with a baby on the way too. AND thinking of moving house too!! Me and my DP like stress in our lives!!

Think we've bought a dud with the puppy anyway, as just sleeps all the time

Best wishes to everyone
xxxxx

hello! newish on here (never posted b4!!) so mumsnet virgin i guess - anyway due 19 july with third (v,excited) have 2 ds, aged 6 and 2. as so busy with work and kids - have not really had time to think about this pregnancy, but really getting into it now and want to see how other mums are doing!!! HUGE already, constantly hungry and tired - same as most of you i guess!! anyway it will nice to see how u r all getting on x

JetLi · 15/02/2009 20:12

Hi everyone - hello newbies, LittleDoe et al. Been lurking for a while, keeping up with everyone's news.
Seem to be suffering with the cursed round ligament pain - anyone else having trouble? Today it has been horrible, but googling would indicate that could be down to having had such a busy day yesterday, running around like an idiot.
Anyway, the pain has helped me write a draft birthing plan - "Open to ALL forms of pain relief" in big letters at the top! I couldn't do hours of constant pain
Other than that, seem to be having popping, bubble-bursting sensations which I think is baby wriggling around! Feels a little bit like having one of those trapped nerves in your eyelids where it twitches.

xxhunnyxx · 15/02/2009 21:11

Hi everyone, not been on for a few days as I've been in bed with a horrible tummy bug, was worried about baby cos couldnt keep any food or water down n still not eaten properly in 3 days now but baby is still very active so obviously totally unaffected by it. As happy as I've been to feel baby wriggling around it really didnt help me when my tummy was feelin so delicate .
Really not lookin forward to goin in work tomos, I'm still not 100%, just feel totally exhausted n sleepin 24/7 but I don't think work would really understand that!

Even more confused about whether to find out the sex now, I managed to convincce BF last night that we should keep it as a surprise but then today I popped down to our local M&P and Next and they've got some gooooorrrrgeous baby clothes n it really made me wanna know the sex. God I'm so indecisive!

bozette · 15/02/2009 21:54

Hello all. Just finished catching up with 2 weeks worth of news, so sending lots of congrats, thoughts and hugs as appropriate. As ever its so reassuring to hear that how i'm feeling is infact normal!!

We've actually been skiing for the last 2 weeks . DH is obsessed and we usually go for the first 2 weeks of March. We went now so that i could ski still. And I could!! I kept forgetting that i'm pregnant and would then remember and behave a bit more responsibly !! I was only doing half days, and not every day. DS saw to that by declining to go to the french nursery, which was nice but busy.

Otherwise i just feel fat rather than pregnant. As its no 2 i'm guilty of not being as observant as last time. I'm now 18 weeks and not convinced i can feel movement, but belly is growing rapidly. Not helped by catered chalet for 2 weeks!

lucasnorth · 15/02/2009 21:59

patchybob - I'm sure you'll be fine. Olbas Oil (and the pastilles) is OK in pregnancy according to three different pharmacists I asked last a couple of years ago (when pregnant last time round), and it contains eucalyptus.

Although I have now Googled it, and apparently ALL aromatherapy oils are not advised in pregnancy, including eucalyptus/Olbas. There's an old thread on it here. I guess it's one of those things - the cautious approach is not to use anything but it's how cautious you want to be versus how blocked up you are Hope you feel better soon.

Welcome BusyEmma congrats on bump3 - I've added you to the list below.

Bozette EEEEEEEEEEEK Skiing at 18 weeks!! I'd be petrified. Well done you.

I'm still feeling really shattered. Last time I was full of energy and even still dancing Salsa until 8 1/2 months but this time the stairs are difficult at 17 weeks. Really need to do some more exercise but no time and shattered.

Bozette - Wow for skiing at 18wks. I put off taking ds ice skating at christmas cos i was worried about it while pg

Welcome and congrats busyemma

Good luck for any 20wk scans coming up this week

Just noticed the thread is approaching 1000 posts again. Hopefully we can be more prepared this time and not lose people for a few days . Anyone got any title suggestions?

deleting · 15/02/2009 23:51

so much has happened since I was last on, hello to all newcomers. plot2- glad the news was mostly good and hoping that the problem will sort itself out. I suppose as long as there are enough capilliaries doing the job it will be fine. As for pelvic floors, I don't think mine's up to the job. Even at this fairly early stage I'm having problems. Am clutching like mad, but it can take months to see any difference.
feeling quite a bit of movement now, mostly in the evenings. got 20 week scan on wednesday. Is anyone else having that tight feeling when your lump goes hard. thought that came later, but I've had it this week in the mornings. don't know if it's just the way it's lying or one of those braxton hick things.

Newb · 16/02/2009 09:10

Hi All

All good chez Newb. Scan this morning, we're having a little girl Well probably unless something was pretty well hidden..... Am really chuffed but will take a couple of days to get head round it as I was for some reason convinced it was a boy.

All is good with littl'un but apparently my salt is too high and I have to watch my weight as I've put on 3 kilos in a month. But I'm sure I haven't eaten any more than usual (and only put on 2 kilos by 15 weeks) Is this usual? (first timer reassurance....)

Phoenix · 16/02/2009 09:12

Congrats on your little girl Newb

Is everyone who is finding out the sex of the baby happy to have them on the stats list?

Newb · 16/02/2009 12:17

Fine for me, thanks

EvieBear · 16/02/2009 12:34

Hello again, so relieved! Just back from GP where I heard my LO's heart beat for the first time with the Doppler. Was worried as hadn't felt movement in nearly two weeks even with drinking cold water and orange juice etc... So all sounds good, phew
I would love to find out the sex but DP doesn't want to, so that's that sorted, the surprise will be lovely but I'd love to plan a bit more with colours etc.
Get well soon to all of you feeling poorly, I was so ill at the beginning when I didn't know I was pg, it went on for 3 weeks and I was on paracetamol, antibiotics etc... Hopefully you'll all be back in fighting form soon.
Forgot to get my MATB1 form from the GP just now, I was so relieved I just ran out!
Our Valentine's wasn't terribly romantic as my Mum was here visiting along with my sister and brother and his girlfriend - v stressful but kept smiling!

deleting - I've had Braxton Hicks type tightening too! Feels slightly uncomfortable for a few seconds then disappears off. Though wasn't particularly worried, glad to hear that it's not just me

Very envious of all those who've had their 20 week scans as put mine back a week re half term, then found out that there's no school Mon, Tues next week anyway (consultation day & staff training day)

Heard a view that being 20 weeks is rotten as whilst half way through, still have 20 weeks left to go! I think I agree. It seems like a lifetime since wasn't pg!! Last 20 weeks seem to have really dragged even though delighted to be pregnant and not been ill. Feels like forever since drank a whole bottle of wine........ And I have a bottle of advocaat with my name on it. Had a bit of a craving for advocaat, very cruel I think!!
