Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

OP posts:

hunny there were 100000's of maternity pads at my hospital so I didn't buy any, then just used normal pads once home. And yes, they are horrible and thick!

danny sorry you are heading down the SPD path again, is there anything you can do to stop it getting worse?

Hi all just popping in to say glad everyone elses scans went well.
I had mine yesterday and the baby is fine as far as they can see (apparently it has a big tummy... sounds like I have another hungry one on the way - DD still eats me out ofhouse and home)
I have a lovely pic of it and it looks really clear will try and upload if I can.
Away for a few days though so depends if I can nick the computer of my Bro!
hi hobnob have fun with all the BD! Hope next time round is soon and smooth for you x
ILYsleeves I have bought a Jane Powertwin which ticks all my boxes (and I have cheated and bought the matrix for the back which dosn't officially fit but does IYSWIM)

Hia all not sure what to expect as had it last time after Ds2 was born so was getting over it as it came on day after i gave birth, was so bad had trouble lifting legs to walk (I blame 8lb 6 ds2 lol). This time its the opposite way round not sure how bad its gonna get I'm only 19+2. Yest at work everytime stood up felt like had been kicked in groin and hips felt bruised and heavy. Sorry for moaning on just frustrated x x

hi all, im glad everyones scans are going well, tim 20 weeks on tuesday but still have another 2 1/2 weeks til scan! still cant decide if i want to find out or not. dp thinks it should be a suprise but i think i might like to know. its not that i have a preference but given that my little brother died the same time i got pregnant i might feel abit weird about aboy and need time to get my head round it...does that sound weird dont want to sound ungrateful ultimately i want a helathy baby obviously! think it might be my hormones!
anyway congratulations gillyan on a girl and thelollipoplady on your little boy!
well i can highly recommend the kiddicare department sotre in peterborough if anyone lives near there. went yesterday for a look a round and ended up coming away with an out n about 3 in 1 pram system for the bargain price of £180 instead of £360 as they arent stocking them anymore! very impressed excellent service, they even have a rough terrain bit to test the pushchairs out on with lots of different textures like grass, gravel, brick, stairs etc.
we were umming and ahhing over a double but dd does walk nearly everywhere, however we did test the teutonia double which if i was to get a double id have one of those so light to steer even with one hand, although it's a side by side so quite wide!
anyway im sure of bored evryone to tears so off to get some digestives and nutella yum!

Hello ladies

Seen my physio today (lovely lady!) and now have my crutches ready and an immediate request for Occ Therapy to come out to install a raised toilet seat, ramp to front door and a grabby stick etc! I feel like a granny but so relieved that I was taken seriously immediately and given lots of support. Physio said I was doing all the right things already and that there was little she could physically do for me due to the hyper-mobility (ie anything she does will just ping out again anyway!) but she will see me as often as needed to review the position of my spine and pelvis and to provide support when I need it. Came out of there sore but so happy to have someone understand the agony!

Went to yoga tonight, much better this week as it felt more tailored to my body needs. Been working on my posture and relaxation exercises as well as methods for relieving back pain Strange to see 7 women laying on the floor ohhhming but there we go!

xxhunnyxx I have to say I loved the maternity pads as they really cushioned my stitches when sitting down - and this after refusing to buy any as I thought they were horrible! I have read on a few other threads that they don't recommend normal plastic backed towels for immediately after birth - something to do with the plastic and infections - it's on either the childbirth or pregnancy section on here I think. (Baby brain has set in!)

dannyg make sure you get an immediate referal through your midwife or dr to the physio as they can provide all the support that I listed in my post. I can truly sympathise with all of you SPD sufferers out there - the kicked in the groin feeling takes some beating huh?!

Still waiting for my scan - it's on the 5th March so not too long to go but it feels like forever! I will be 21 weeks on that day and can't wait to find out the flavour!

Hugs to all xxx

me again! have read the link about smp going up to 12 months, do you think this would be applicable to self employed people too? i pay NI contributions so will get 117 a week, would be great if i couldget it for a year!

Phoenix · 20/02/2009 08:56

Apple that form's not available until April so the Health Centres won't have them yet.

I am absolutely STARVING at the moment. Anyone else too? Only 18 weeks so definietly should not be eating for 2 but just so hungry. Had a massive bowl of readybrek for breakfast but still had to go mooching to the machine at work for sandwiches at 10:30. Sigh - I'm going to be HUGE at this rate.

New thread here as I was getting a bit bored of having to scroll through so many pages! I'm sure we'll have a bit of overlap, but thought it worth a try.

Had scan today...

mickeylou · 25/02/2009 16:06

Hello, havent been on here in ages! i am 18 weeks now but midwife thinks this is wrong as i palpate at 20 weeks. eh? very confusing as this would mean i was pregnant the cycle before. i was acually convinced i was pregnant in the october but had a negative test followed by what i thought was a period. who knows then - this baby is either due on the 25th july or the 11th july.

sickness has only just started to subside - except when overly tired when it rears ugly head again.

i went to the GP on monday as in agony in my lower back whenever i sit down, whilst i'm sitting down and when i stand up. i work at a desk so i'm pretty much in pain all day. she called it inflamation of the coexix and said only option is paracetamol and muscle rub and pretty much put up with it. ouch!

really looking forward to my scan on 10th march. whether it is a 20 or a 22 week scan is anyones guess!

hope everyone is ok. xxx

Jenny79 · 28/02/2009 11:03

Hi everyone,
New to Mumsnet and DD 12 July 09.
Had my second scan last week, all going well so far and now looking for antenatal classes in my area (SW6). Anyone giving birth at Chelsea & Westminister?
