Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

OP posts:

Fantastic Eviebear and ActivityApple . It's so reassuring to hear the heartbeat.

9 days til my scan. I really can't wait to find out what sex the baby is

Hi everyone,

I had my 20 week scan today too and all is good feeling so happy to have seen the little one again! I'll have another at 32 weeks due to the placenta being so low - they do expect it'll move up though. I had a bit of a bleed last week but the sonographer said it was most likely due to this and nothing to worry about.

I keep meaning to post about these A cup maternity/nursing bras, they're lovely hotmilk ones too !

cherry bomb

I was a little hopeful and ordered the b cup though

No ones weighed me since the first appt. I keep forgetting to ask but would like to know if all 'normal' as I think I'm huge. I really wish i'd kept a record of my weight gain last time to compare with.

Sorry to hear so many of you are ill, I hope it starts getting better for you soon.

Belgrano · 16/02/2009 14:19

I have never been weighed at any antenatal appts and this is my second pg. I am interested - do the rest of you get weighed as a matter of course every time?
Soozze - where did you buy the hotmilk A cups? I am DESPERATE for some pretty mat bras and when I looked on hotmilk they started at B.....which I won't graduate

soozze · 16/02/2009 14:58

The hotmilk bras are on a website - www.zodee.co.uk. The two bras mentioned above had A sizes available but maybe there are others too.

It's based in new zealand, but I've ordered from them and it's been fine.

busyemma · 16/02/2009 19:06

Ive never been weighed b4 (its my 3rd pg) i put on roughly 4 1/2 stone 1st time!!! was - 4 stone the second so dont want to know this time am slim normally just seem to go huge and scary looking when preggars!!! nearly 2 weeks until scan cant wait (pretty sure its another boy - but really dont mind) anyone else scratching like mad - and i really want a whole bottle of wine too!!!

if just to cope with my ds 6 yr old awful tamtrums that have just seem to come out of nowhere (normally very calm and a complete joy) has any one experinced this??? at my wits end, tried the firm approach, and understanding, listening etc etc but no luck (wondering if he is jealous of no 3???)

ilikeyoursleeves · 16/02/2009 19:48

Hi all, I've not been on for a while and there are a ton of new posts! Hope you are all doing well Nothing much to report from here, still not really feeling Sparky yet but I heard him on the doppler the other night so I know he's doing fine.

Re weight, I've put on about 6lb I think so far, although about 4 lb of that was within one week! I have been eating loads of crap (got yummy Valentines choccies plus still eating Xmas goodies!) and I seem to have a thing for Supernoodles, why can't I crave healthy things?

I am very very very of all you who are having 20 week scans, mine's not til 28 weeks (ie another 11 weeks!!!)

xxhunnyxx · 16/02/2009 20:10

Feelin loads better today, been back at work and it wasn't as bad as I thought, apart from the fact that I just hate bein there at the mo!

Newb I'm keepin an eye on how much weight I'm puttin on and how much I'm supposed to be putting on and I found something on the web the other day that said that by 20 weeks u should have put on around 10-13 lbs which would mean that your weight gain is about right. I had put on about 9lbs until I got ill so I'm now only about 5-6lbs heavier than before I got pregnant but I have been eating quite a lot (inc lots of cake!) lol.

I've just seen my baby boot me! It was havin a bit of a kick so I decided to look at my tummy to see if I could see any movement and I sure did!

nicky6 · 16/02/2009 20:25

hi all sorry not been on but completetly mad here. dd had her 1st birthday and also learnt to crawl stand do steps get into anything and everything that is at almost any height and is cutting her first tooth - all mad and all at once.

me also work really full on and having a 1hr + drive each way on top - .

Anyway gald everyone seems so well - I weighed myself this morning and have put on 14Lb already am 20+ weeks. Its meant to be 3-5lb in the first trimester then about a lb a week in the second so we can happily have put on 11-13lb My scan not til 4th march and we are not finding out dh doesnt want to so I am am not that fussed. I like suprises.

Baby so wriggly its a joke at the first scan all we could see was 2 absolutley wild legs kicking all the time - looks like it could get painful later on!
Anyway was just sticking my head in. Bye for now

Misspaella · 16/02/2009 20:27

Hi all
I wouldn't worry too much about the weight gain...it is inevitable that we are only growing in girth right now, no matter what. I do remember in my 2nd pg my GP making a snarky remark that I had put on loads during my last visit. I cried the whole way into work after that antenatal appt.

Hunny glad you are ok now.

I did a days temping today and will work again tomorrow. If I am honest, it is kind of nice to have a break from the dc's.

Deleting I have notice tightening too. I am assuming that we are just more aware of our bodies?

Glad to hear the 2nd scans are all good so far.

I have 11 days til mine (better than 11 weeks so can't complain).

Have a lovely evening,

dannyg · 16/02/2009 21:33

Hiya all glad all is going well for you all so far, 19weeks tomo been having lots of movement & braxton hicks style tightening too, Glad not only one was starting to worry!. My 2nd scan is not till 5th March seems miles away have named it Blue or Pink day lol. Centre parks day after for much needed break too, been trying to find some nice but not too expensive swimwear but cant find anything that does not cost a fortune. Defianately feeling more human now although tiredness is a real pain x x

Beccabump · 16/02/2009 21:49

Hello lovely ladies and welcome to our new ladies too

Am having a really rough time of it SPD-wise at the moment and not really expecting it to get any better

The pain is not constant but is occurring very often now - I'd say 70% of the day in some sort of pain. My right side is far worse than my left and my leg has started to 'give out' on me on that side a few times a week, mainly when the pain is at it's worst. It is worrying for me as I am scared of falling and damaging baby, DD or myself.

Luckily I see the physio's Thursday so they might be able to sort me out with crutches etc.

As a side effect I am not sleeping much at all and this is impacting my anxiety issues too!

So all in all a grumpy, weepy, hobbling mess of a woman!

On a positive note I get lots of lovely pokey movements and last night baby decided to lay right up under my belly button for a few minutes - so weird!!!

Sorry for such a moany post.

Lots of love xxx

QueenFee · 16/02/2009 22:01

oh becca I really feel for you I ws like that in my last pg. The crutches help and hire a wheelchair if needs be to get out (I got one from the red cross) I found crutches impossible with a 20 mth old!. My SPD has righted itself this time so far thanks to a lovely Osteopath. I would be really lucky not to get it again though so rooting for you.
My scan is on wed and I am starting to get really excited about seeing the baby again, although I have this dreadfull sense of forboding which I have never had before
I put on 3 stone with each of my last pg's but this time I have only ut on a few pounds so far. I think i'm just too busy (except when on mumsnet and I like to sit here and stuff my face with S and V crisps )
Surely the title of the next post should have a mention of all the twins in it ?

hello queenfee and christiana

I have had 5 sessions of counselling recently due to childhood trauma and unfortunately there is a 3 month wait to be re-referred!! I have 1 appt left for 'emergencies' but I don't really think going would be any more beneficial than talking to my friend who has experienced similar problems in pg.

I am thinking about the osteo but living in the back of beyond there a very few people specialised in caring for pg ladies! I think I will see how I go on Thursday and then decide with any other treatments

I am still going through a strange craving stage where I really really want a different thing most days! The most popular thing at the moment is cauliflower cheese with ham and potato croquettes!! I also am having a terrible craving for pork scratchings but I am trying to hold off! They have sooo much salt and soooo many calories in!!!

BonzoDoodah · 17/02/2009 13:13

Hey beccabump - try not to stress too much about falling - it'll make you more anxious and more nervous. And the baby is well protected. A woman here at work fell down the stairs at 6 months preg and the baby is absolutely fine despite her breaking her own leg! there's lots of cushioning for the baby in there!

Belgrano · 17/02/2009 13:35

I can't stop eating Frazzles! You know - those stripy, fake bacon crisps. Mmmmmm. You should all try them for an addictive taste of childhood.

Becca - sorry to hear about the SPD. I'm moaning enough because I've got to wake up to re-arrange myself in bed!!

I'm hoping there are some London ladies on here who can help. I'm going down for the weekend to see family. We're sticking to 2 groups of people, both in South London, but at the East and West extremes. Does anyone have suggestions of good shops that might have twin prams we can look at? If they don't have any I'm interested in I won't hold it against you, but we've been round all the Edinburgh shops and seen 3 twin prams - getting our hands on a few more examples would be very helpful.

Had our 20 week scan on Monday. Both babies are about the same size (big) and "no FA seen". DH panicked when he saw that on the notes - had to explain it meant no fetal abnormalities, not that they were missing something vital

Hi everyone, belgrano the very thought of Frazzles made my mouth water! Must get some...I like walkers prawn cocktail at the moment...need some now!!!

beccabump I fell down the stairs when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with dd, while carrying 21 month old ds. He broke his foot, but the baby was fine. Not my finest moment, just totally lost my balance. Very scary though.I felt so bad that he got hurt, but he banged his foot on the stair rail as i was trying to get him out the way so he didn't hit the closed stair gate at the bottom. Just take it easy and try not to worry about something that may not happen (mmmh, easier said than done!)

We are off to Wales for a few days tomorrow to visit family and some friends. My chest is much better today so I am hoping I am on the mend. Its been a hard couple of weeks and I just want to bloom!!!!
Have a good few days everyone xx

rattling i'm a south london girl. If you're anywhere near the A3 there's a great shop just off it close to kingston/surbiton called the A3 baby barn. Its within 10 minutes of the M25. Its in the middle (literally) of surbiton golf course. They have at least the nipper 360 double and the Ipear whatsit. I'm sure they may have more. They are shut on sundays. They have a website, if you google A3 baby barn, and if you give them a call they are really helpful. Its a bit of an aladdins cave. I made all my major baby purchases there first time round.
Theres also a shop called peppermint in kingston which i think has a mountain buggy twin. There's a big mothercare in Kew.

woollyjo · 17/02/2009 22:18

We have made some definite headway this week after being in weeks for limbo after FIL's death.

We've finished decorating the large spare room and have bought a big girl's bed for dd and moved her in, in her cot for now, that's this weekend's challenge. The plan is to put both in together once baby is sleeping through and maintain a junk spare room so much moving stuff and sorting has been going on.

And I have managed to get a 3rd hand phil and ted's buggy in great nick.

The progress feels good. Just need some sun now so we can get out on the allotment.

rattling · 18/02/2009 10:16

Bozette - huge thanks for the tips. Kingston is my west London destination so I'll get SIL to take me on a tour of local pram shops.

Christiana - I'd forgotten about the Costorphine Pram centre, been to the one in Leith. Think that might be worth a trip in a week or so.

Woollyjo - very jealous of your allotment. We're one year into a four year wait for one - though realistically not sure how much we'd manage to do during the first year with twins. I'm hoping getting it when they are 2.5 will work out!

Beccabump · 18/02/2009 10:27

Hello ladies

I am in Bude in Cornwall so a little far from London!!!

Think I may have found an osteo nearby but am going to quiz her on hypermobility and SPD before booking an appt...many osteo's I have spoken to before have experience in caring for pg women but not with hm and SPD!

Hope all of you are well....not had much movement since Mon but tring not to freak myself out - have a feeling baby is facing in and kicking my back!
