Congratulations Bisou and Indith, am loving all the birth stories.
Good news from me is that DD is now back up to her birthweight and I am allowed to drive again - Yay!
Have loads of my family coming to visit me tomorrow from the US, then FIL and partner turning up to meet DD for the first time, so busy, busy.
Hope everyone is well and had good Christmases, mine was a bit of a disaster thanks to my (alcoholic) mother, but more on that when I have more time.

SummerLightning · 29/12/2008 18:46

Oh and another thing...I weighed myself...I am fat.
I know I shouldn't have done it
2 stone to lose!!! Gah!

kayzr · 29/12/2008 18:49

Don't worry Summer I have 4 to lose!!!

reban · 29/12/2008 18:58

hi all Joscelyn had her first weighing since birth today and she is still at her birth weight, so goood news. in fact i was amazed she hadnot put weihht on as she is permaently attached to my boobs

congratulations to al those who have given birth especially indith (my due date buddy) and bisou - an amazing story, you did so well and just for comparison my dd has a head circ of 33cm, so i would say you def went for the right option of cs.

We decided to go for first shopping trip with baby today, but to ease overselves into it we left the other children with my mom. We were doing really well, had a very brief top up feed while dp was at checkout, until we decide to fill up the car. Can you guess what happened next?? Thankfully it wsnt me, but dp put unleaded petrol into our new diesel car .... luckily realised at about a quarter of a tank ... but what a nightmare .. i had to phone my BIL to come and pick up me an Joscelyn who is of course screaming her head off by this point while dp waited for breakdown truck, in fact he is still st his friends garage draining the engine and im having my first experience of being left alone with all the children .. i am heavily relying on the tv!

Yes LT I did have Joscelyn at good hope. I am very lucky having given birth 4 times, i have only had positive birth experiences.

apologises for bad spelling etc, typing with left hand!!

SummerLightning · 29/12/2008 18:59

arti that is sooo annoying!! Round here they do the same thing, but they do tend to turn up in the morning for me at least!

I have mw coming round tomorrow but to be honest I shouldn't really be going out anyway so not too much of a problem.

artichokes · 29/12/2008 19:06

Do not talk to me about weight. I put on 3 stone with pregnancy. DD weighed 10lbs 2oz and despite losing her, the placenta and water I only lost a stone. One measly stone. I have two to go.

Turniphead1 · 29/12/2008 19:16

Hi all. Trying to catch up - all these exciting birth stories. Bisou welcome to baby Joshua! What a dramatic and long labour, but worth it in the end, like all of them. He was the same weight as my DS and same head circ. A lovely chunky boy, he is gorgeous! And well done to WG and lovely baby Rosie - I love that name. And to Summer and Indith sorry I am losing track! Many many congratulations. Is it me but have we had a cluster a em csections around Xmas? Just thinking of Kimberley too. It is strange but the main thing is that these babies are here and safe.

arti your comm m/w sounds like a complete doughnut. How annoying!

verso I am so cross on your behalf. I am sure they will give you all the £ back but it is aggro you just don't need at this point.

ladyT hope MiLs isn't too bad.

kayz hope you can DS2 to bed a little earlier. He is doing so well later in the night I am sure you can crack it.

Trace hope dinner at your friends went well - and don't worry if you had a sob, people understand.

Rosmerta I totally sympathise with the DH troubles. I am dreading that period with mine if this baby ever comes out. All I can say is it does pass, but boy my Dh has been lucky to avoid a meat cleaver in the head the past two times.

OK, I have had acupuncture AND reflexology today (the people only had appointments today in next few days, thus the overdose of alternative therapies...). Hopefully will work. My sister is only here til New Years Day and really want it to be before then ....but this baby may have other ideas!40 plus 5 but feels like 43 plus 5. Also, I am finding this waiting is making me anxious about the birth, whereas a few weeks ago I was "bring it on!" .

Turniphead1 · 29/12/2008 19:18

arti I will have 3 stone to lose too. Hopefully the baby will acount for some, if he/she ever comes out! But my face is so fat it depresses me. My Dh and sis are starting to joke that there is no baby in here only mince pies and gas...

kayzr · 29/12/2008 19:22

Turnip I really hope you have baby soon.

I have hardly put on any weight with this pregnancy but I didn't lose any of the weight I put on with DS1. So I am determined to do it this time round. I have lost a stone of the 5 I wanted to lose because it was all baby really.

reban · 29/12/2008 19:24

i have tried and failed to post photos again so iwill email xx

EffiePerine · 29/12/2008 22:47

Turnip: am also thinking about booking some acupuncture and so on if no signs by the end of the week - do you mind saying who you used? Am hoping they are reasonably local!

DH now stressing about what might happen if I go into labour on NYE and we can't find a taxi

Verso: you should get the money back if it is obv fraudulent (and for that amount I guess it will be). Hope the bank get back to you with reassurance soon.

Arti: at your crappy HV

WG: lovely to hear from you! Glad you got home for your birthday

Well done to all those babies maintaining/putting on weight

and sending patience and tolerance vibes to LadyT for her MIL visit

we are starting to get the 'is anything happening?' phone calls - DS is starting to learn all sorts of new words

EffiePerine · 29/12/2008 22:49

Rosmerta: sorry to hear things are stressful between yo and your DH . No ideas other than keep talking...

Turniphead1 · 29/12/2008 22:59

Hi Effie - lady called Gillian Price who works from home off Green Lanes and in a clinic in Stokey. Here are her details (although obv not having gone into labour yet we are not getting a ringing endorsement for acupuncture! ). Here are her details gillian. She is working Wed and Fri this week.

EffiePerine · 29/12/2008 23:19

ooh, she's based at Shine - that's easy to get to. May pop in tomorrow to see about making an appointment

Veggiemummy · 29/12/2008 23:22

Hi Turnip and Effie hope it happens soon Oli.

I have taken so long to read through this I had stuff to say to things posted but can't remember them now.

Ds2 now has a full name. Jordan Leong An. Apparently according to the fortune teller person he is lacking the element fire and one of the characters that make up the name has a fire element in it so that gives him some fire. I don't agree I think he is very firey. But it's a nice name and I think it means some like good and peaceful or something along those lines and it suits him quite well. Oh he is just so lovely.

Veggiemummy · 29/12/2008 23:46

Oh congrats Bisou, sorry for the saga of it all and for so long too but sounds like CS was really only option from the outset shame you had to go through so much labour beforehand. 37.5cm is big ds was 36 cm and MW said the average is 34cm. So your lovely one is already above average.

Hey everyone - long time no speak - how are you all doing? I'm so sorry I've been so remiss. I've been with my parents for Xmas and now am back in London. DD taking up loads of my time, she's gorgeous, but it's quite hard work!

How's everyone doing there?

Congrats on all the lovely babies - so exciting!

Oh bugger, she's kicking off! Hope all well and speak soon.

xxxx

Turniphead1 · 30/12/2008 10:23

Effie - I would give her a ring. I don't think she is working at Shine tomorrow but from home (but its only a further 10 mins up the road from Stokey).

I think things may be happening here. Am leaking some fluid, pinkish and having been having contractions every 15 mins. They aren't lasting the full minute though and are quite manageable, so nothing seems to be very fast. Looks like I will miss Kimberley by only a few hours at the hospital as she is hoping to be out by noon.

Will let you know if anything more happening

Beans33 · 30/12/2008 10:37

Fingers crossed Turnip - sounds imminent and pretty exciting! Ooh, in a weird sort of way, I want to do it all over again!
xx

Veggiemummy · 30/12/2008 10:37

Hooray Turnip. Goodluck with the acupuncture Effie.

Good Luck Turnip and Effie!!!

Turniphead1 · 30/12/2008 11:08

Beans feel free to come and do it for me . Thanks for the good wishes! Good luck to oli and effie and everyone else waiting. Getting a bit closer together but still not very long. Can feel it in my back too which isn't great....but hey ho!

kayzr · 30/12/2008 11:53

HV has just been and Dylan has put on more weight and is 10lb 4oz so just 1oz of his birth weight. Freddie was a real pain in the bum though. Tried climbing on her, running around like a loon, poked Dylan in the eye and tried to get out of the front door.

She told me to join Netmums to get advice on how to stop Freddie having tantrums when he is told off. Netmums???? Can you believe it?

Good Luck Turnip and Effie

Kayz great news about the weight gain - well done to you and DS2! As for Netmums - well, as if!

Trace big thank you to you for the Contractionmaster.com top tip! Am using it because Dh failed to even look up from his Long Way Down dvd when I had a contraction about 3 ago!! We actually had a laugh and said you could tell this was the third labour! First time around he was hovvering nervously with a stop watch.

Getting a bit closer together, but a way to go.
