I know, maybe thats why I have painted them. The lady in the bed next to me when I had DS, had painted toe nails, long nails with allsorts of groovy swirls on them and she put on loads of make up when her DH/P took pictures of her and her DD. She looked fab and I looked like someone who had run 10 marathons.

I am determined to have nice pictures of me this time round.

sorkycake · 28/11/2008 14:45

I've popped onto the Feb board but I've joined too late I think. I'm there to keep LB company cos' she's on there but is due after me.

My dad hopes this baby is coming on his birthday (10 days late!). Why? why would you wish that on someone?

5 mean a couple of days...fine, but 10 days.

When do they normally do an induction round by you Kay? What I mean is should everything not go to dates, when do they book an induction for? Is it 10 or 14 days?

Is Glas finding out the sex then?

sorkycake · 28/11/2008 14:47

that should be I not 5

That's why I go to the salon, buy new jama's etc, so I don't feel like a complete minger.

LOL I don't think nice post-birth pictures could ever exist of me, with DS1 I had the biggest brightest red nose where I'd been pushing the G&A mask onto my face so hard (which then came out in a lovely green bruise!) and DS2, I think the shock on my face would have needed plastic surgery and a mask to hide it! And for some reason, even though I pretty much stay still while labouring, my hair is always in a complete state, and I do mean a state, as though I've not washed or even brushed it for 6 weeks... it's a bit longer this time, maybe I should stop worrying about getting to the phone when the labour starts and start worrying about making sure my hair is up nicely out of the way?!

kayzisexpecting · 28/11/2008 14:49

Normally 14 days. But I asked yesterday and she said due to the time of year they will probably do it at 9 or 10 days. If they wait 14 days I'll be induced Boxing Day.

No news yet?

Oh I should add my tip for post-birth pictures. Clarins beauty falsh balm made me look amazing in pictures with dd2 if I say so myself, although it did feel a bit 'tight'on the old dyhydrated face!
Pre-dd3's birth, I look a right state but thought I was the dogs bo**ocks as we say up here. I was best friends with a wag at the time (who looked like a super model)and got drawn in to the whole 'look'. Had fresh hair extensions, acrylics on finger nails and gel overlays on toes, spray tan, brazilian wax the lot . I can hoenstly say I've never looked so bad or felt so unlike 'me'. Oh and complete with green juicy couture track suit

kayzisexpecting · 28/11/2008 15:10

Nope not yet!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 28/11/2008 16:40

Hurray, Congratulations Glask

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 28/11/2008 16:40

LOL 2BG, I'd forgotten about the blue she'd bought!

Well the packing went well, I was on my way, but then noticed the kitchen could do with a going over so did that instead, so still no bags packed, but I do have a sparkly kitchen. That'll last all of half an hour till I start dinner

Maybe I should make a list of things to pack? Might give me somewhere to start from!

tinkisahugexmaspudding · 28/11/2008 16:47

diege for lunch i have 4 bits of bread with marmite and dairylea, bag of hula hoops then a wispa or mars bar

kay - good list umm naughty nat

i remember when i went into labour with dd one of the first things i did was have a shower.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 28/11/2008 16:49

Hi and bye GYo

Mmmm Tink marmite.....

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 28/11/2008 17:45

I can hardly keep my eyes open!
Going to a NCT pram and toy sale tomorrow to try and find my ideal pram/pushchair.

Kayz- Freddie is gorgeous and look just like you, from the pictures on your page anyway.

Diege- was like when you said you were best friends with a WAG and then lol on the green juicy couture tracksuit.

NJ- well done on the sparkly kitchen, think a list for the bag is the best idea. I don't seem to beable to do anything without a list nowadays. I have pads full of them

i'm getting more and more nervous about emigrating and its still over 6 months away!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 28/11/2008 18:01

Good luck with pram hunting I think the nerves are bound to set in early with such a big life change! We nearly did it, but to Spain not America, we started making big plans, lots of 'looking into things' and even decided on an area and got some contacts ready for DH to get a job, then the idea of baby no. 3 came up and it was a choice between emigrating and a baby, no prizes for guessing which one won (am still wondering if we plumped for the right one!! ) But even when we were just dipping our toes into a possible move the nerves kicked in. Problem is there are no garentees, I guess it will get easier when you know exactly what you're moving to, the house, the neighbourhood, the schools etc. Very exciting along side the nerves!

GruffaloSoldier · 28/11/2008 18:03

Hi all

Congrats Glask - wahhooooo! So excited for mine - I think that has just made me even more excited

LOL at western-like GYo!

Kay - your DS is very cute!

Well mine is a flying visit too as I have just got in from work and now it is time to get ready to go babysitting. I feel very tired and coldy so would rather be at home but oh well.

I dont think I will be on now until Sunday as am going to my sisters tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 28/11/2008 18:26

I've just bought tickets for Russell Brand at the NIA at the end of February!!!
Wanted to see take that but either just after due date or after we have left the country!

I am also very excited about it NJ but everytime i think about it now i want to cry with all the stuff i still have to do and organise, go through now with newborn too.
I was awake at 5am worrying about the new babes jabs!
I know it will all come together but i just don't know how! I like to be organised, however DH is very laid back and i know once we move he will be in control to a point where i will know nothing and relie on him for guidance, which really isn't his strong point!
Sorry for going on just feel it creeping up on me at a rapid rate.

kayzisexpecting · 28/11/2008 18:28

Ooooh I had forgotten about all the blue too.

I know Nat, she always puts Glask on her texts. She is in my phone as Gemma though.

Nowt happening here, he is being extremely wriggly though.

sorkycake · 28/11/2008 18:35

I have just sorted through 2 binbags of clothes returned from my sister to me (pink stuff). It's full of crap!!
WTF am I gonna do? Don't know whether to say anything to her or not. I know she did a car boot about 6 months ago and can only presume she sold all of the good stuff then

Dh has suggested that a lot of the designer/quality stuff maybe in the loft still but I'm not too sure.

Salvageable from the pile of newborn was 5 white sleepsuits, one unworn velour suit, one pair of just about okay fluffy socks, and a velour snowsuit (originally mine).

How the f*ck is that supposed to suffice? Have been to Next and bought a 3 set of pink sleepsuits tonight but it won't be enough I know it.

Dh said it looked like a bundle you might get given if you were living in a refuge and due soon . I think I might cry tbh, and it's got feck all to do with hormones.
It's not a question of money...it's the fucking principle

Sorry for swearing .

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 28/11/2008 18:45

2BG, you need some of my calmness and sereneness and relaxness... It will all happen, I'm sure there will be one or two hiccups along the way (as there always is with these things) but you'll get through them, you have to, there is no choice. Just keep the goal in mind, it'll all be worth it in the end

Sorky, that is pants If I had any pink stuff I'd pass it on, is there anyone else you know that might have some somewhere? Or eBay? Or if you can, use it as an excuse to splurge a bit and go shopping? As for how to handle your sister, obviously that is up to you, you know her and know if there would be anything to be gained from telling her how cross and hurt you are.

kayzisexpecting · 28/11/2008 18:45

Sorky, I am so sorry. Thats really awful. I hope you do happen to find some better stuff in the loft.

Nat, Someone on the Due Dec thread sad this website is really good. I had packed mine before they posted it but it is good.
