glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 17/11/2008 08:56

haha tink- i'm sure people would ahve found us on the old xmassy thread!! but i have to admit i like this title better!!

i think i may have some problems in my lower back... but dont wanna say anything just in case it stops me having a home birth or anything... i'm pretty sure i had it with DD and it was ok... managable.

DH wants me to tell the GP today, but i dont wanna risk having to have a hospital birth if i can cope with it!! IYSWIM??

Was very ill last night, was sick at about 9pm, and had a rough night waking up to be sick etc... dont know if it was because i didn't take my cyclazine, or if its just something i ate yesterday that didn't agree with me. Feel ok this morning though after some toast and my medication so fingers crossed it was just a blip.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/11/2008 09:07

Morning All

after a bit of thread chasing I've found you all great new thread title Tink!!

need to do some catch and work so might take a while....

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 17/11/2008 09:09

LOL Thanks again Tink

Glask, sorry you were poorly again. FWIW, I know people who have had a HB with SPD, so your back problem may not be an issue. Hope you can make it managable either way.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 17/11/2008 09:09

Morning GYo, sorry x posts, did you have a good weekend?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/11/2008 09:35

OOh morning Nat
had a great weekend thanks but very busy seeing friend and her DCs, shopping, and driving around most of the south of england yesterday visiting people!

how about you? (though im sure i need to catch up on what happened -hope no more hosp trips?

Diege · 17/11/2008 09:38

Hello!! Found you all . Thanks for new thread(s) TINK .
Feeling a little better today. Not been sick yet (yah!!) and hoping I may have 'peaked' and sickness will gradually reduce??!!! I holding to fact that my scan at 7.3 put me at 8 weeks, so could be a few days further ahead? By LMP I am 9 weeks today, so could be say 9.4?? With dd3 I did start to feel better at 10 weeks or so (when placenta takes over I think). Does this make sense d'you think or am I clutching at straws??
NAT hope you get some answers today. Agree, does seem odd they've not scanned pacenta for blood flow etc, although placental problems generslly happen a little later (36 weeks plus.)
GLASK, hoping sickness is justa blip. Interestingly, I had a call from someone from hyperemesis support line who I'd left a message with days ago. She said cyclazine was the drug of choice as it was very safe, whereas the 'jury is out' on stemitol for first 12 weeks . Glad I left it now, though sure it's actually fine.. Still, with my anxieties better to leave alone at the mo'.
Hello to everyone else - I'm sure I had something to post on spd from other thread but my brain is a mush!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 17/11/2008 09:39

Weekend sounds good, but busy, make sure you're not over doing it won't you? We should get a wagon peg for that hat....

No, no more hospital trips, I ignored him as much as he ignored me! No, I just used my doppler and went off that. Full story on one of the threads, can't remember which one now!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 17/11/2008 09:42

Morning Diege, hooray for no sickness Your theories make sense to me! Fingers crossed the worst is over for you

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/11/2008 09:56

Hi
Diege for feeling better today- lets hope its stays away for good now

You are right Nat, possibly over did it yesterday - knew it would be a long day before hand....

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/11/2008 10:54

LBOT- How is the news sinking in? Hope you are able to enjoy it without too much worry which must be natural though.

FWIW, I ovulate late generally and definately did on the cycle I got the BFP and Im still here 23wks later.

sorkycake · 17/11/2008 11:05

Glas it might be starting early because it's a subsequent pg. I'm close to needing crutches now but it won't stop me having a home birth. In fact giving birth on your back with legs akimbo, aka hospital birth is the worst position.

The lower back pain might just be Sacro-Illiac joint pain due to the relaxin scooting around your body, that's not to say it won't turn into SPD of course.

Sounds like a horrid time for you with the sickness as well you have my sympathies.

kayzisexpecting · 17/11/2008 11:27

Hello,

3 threads later and I find you!!!! Now I don't think I can remember anything I read.

We had a nice lazy day yesterday and went to my mums for dinner. It was nice to just not do much.

Physio this morning gave me a brace to wear and some exercises to do. She said I have to stop sitting with my legs crossed. I always sit with my legs crossed, so it's really hard to stop myself sitting like that.

DS has given us his cold. We both feel pretty dreadful.
I have another kidney infection too, I rang the out of hours GP who told me to go to the labour ward as he thought it was labour and the MWs sent me to see the out of hours gp for anti-biotics. I was quite annoyed as I knew it wasn't labour and I felt like I was being sent round in circles.

I hope everyone is feeling ok.

Diege · 17/11/2008 12:31

Kay you are really getting more than your fair share of pregnancy ailments . And a cold to top it off, urghhh.. This time next month it will all be over...(maybe!).
Well I spoke too soon, and have been sick big time (out of nose AND one of contact lenses came out and dropped down toilet ; I mean, how did that happen??? ). Never mind, the oven chips are cooking and they are my best friends at the moment.
Oh meant to say thanks for good wishes for dd2's party yesterday . It all went very well, though had to surrepticiously eat my cold oven chip butty under the table, with every child within 10 foot homing on it .
Am enjoying 'I'm a Celebrity...'. What an arse Kilroy is! Anyone else admit to wathcing?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 17/11/2008 12:31

right... I've heard of SPD... what is it exactly? the pains i'm having i've been getting since about 6 weeks, its gradually getting worse but still managable as long as i dont over-do it, and as long as i keep good posture.

With DD it never got bad enough that i couldn't cope with DS, but at the same time i didn't have to do the nursery run then... Just come home from nursery run and my legs and lower back are actually in agony, I know it'll ease with a bit of rest, but the 10min walk felt like a 2hr hike for my body!! maybe made worse by lack of sleep last night.

DH and I agreed that if it gets any worse for me that i should tell midwife at next appointment or go see GP if its well before my next app.

My pain is like a really bad aching at the bottom of what feels like my spine, mainly central lower back area... feels like the bones aching almost... and if i move my hips around i can feel the pain just from standing... the aching is almost always there, but only really painful when i'm moving , bending or walking.... does that make sence??

Got another prescription of cyclazine, GP gave me another 42 tablets which could last as long as 42 days if i dotn feel sick in evenings etc... most days i can last on one tablet now. He said its fine to take to the end if i needed to, but to try and make this my last precription if i can... so we're going to see how it goes.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 17/11/2008 12:34

sorry for the me, me, me post!!- hopefully i can buy the wagon some more moan cards in the jan sales for using them all up!!!

Kayz- sorry to hear about the brace, and the cold- but like Diege says- it could all be over very soon!!!

Diege, sorry you've been sick again.... can you get some cyclazine instead of the other stuff (sorry can't be bothered to look up and see for spelling... but yet i can be bothered to type and extra sentence???)

Cosmogirl · 17/11/2008 12:52

Hi,

Diege & Glask - sorry you guys are still suffering badly. You both seem to be coping so well though. I am still nauseous but only being sick once or twice a week now...It is odd how different we all are. With my sickness it went from nausea to dry heaves and didn't become a full-on vomit fest until week 12.

4 sleeps until scan!!! It is the only thing that will keep me going this week I think. Have a headache and feel like I want to flop on the sofa and eat chocolate, not sit at my desk...

Hey to everyone else

Cosmogirl · 17/11/2008 12:56

Anyone know the 'etiquette' for asking sex of baby at 20 week scan? Should I wait until the end to ask? Hope we get a nice sonographer..

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/11/2008 13:02

Hey Cosmo

Not sure on the etiquette but I was expecting the sonographer to ask us if we wanted to know and she didnt. I'd probably wait to the end when she is finishing measurements.. as they might have seen some "evidence" already!

So exciting about the scan!

So many people here have/are finding out the sex- think im one of the only wagoners waiting for the surprise bet I get itchy towards the end and want to know

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 17/11/2008 13:03

If you wait until the end they'll probably get huffy... when i've gone in i've always mentioned when i was climbing onto the bed that we'd love to know the sex of the baby if they could take a peek while they're looking!! Never had any negative comment to that!!

and thanks cosmo... sometimes i feel like i'm just a constant winge-bag!! But then i know i must be coping ok as both my kids still get dressed, fed and watered by me!! I can't be doing too badly!! I have to say sometimes when i'm on a day when i'm just feeling ill it actually feels worse than when i am sick... so i know how bad the nausea can be!! Glad your's is down to just a couple of times a week... i'm still being sick that even on medication!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/11/2008 13:07

Good point glask, if they have to go back and look they might be annoyed

I certainly dont have experience- but I definately wouldnt ask once they'd started measuring...

So exciting....

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 17/11/2008 13:13

right i'm off for a nap!! I really need it!! Just hope i can keep the kids quiet so i can have a good one!!

will be around later as DH on a late shift again, he wont be home till 9ish.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/11/2008 13:16

OK have anice snooze!

kayzisexpecting · 17/11/2008 13:17

Cosmo, The letter I got when I got the scan date said to ask as soon as you get in the room so the sonographer can keep an eye out through the whole scan.
