Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

d'you know I haven't even considered what I'd do if I'm home and giving birth alone, with the kids with me and Dh at work.

So far we've been very lucky that he's been at home each time, but he would take about 45 minutes to get back from work and that's if they could find him if he wasn't at his desk.

Shit! I think we might all need a plan.

Were your 2 previous births inductions NJ?

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 17:21

My Bloody (D)H has just said that if he knew we would be living here instead of the flat I could have had a home birth!!!!!!!!! The little beeping beep beep!!!!!!!

sorkycake · 27/11/2008 17:25

Not too late Kayz. They don't deliver the birth pack to me until 37 weeks at least. Speak to the m/w if you want one.

Nat have found this for you. hth

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 17:30

I think it might be a bit late now. I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and I won't have time to get organised as I'd really want a birth pool.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 17:32

Kayz- its not too late, they didn't set me up with DD until 37.5wks... luckily they did as i gave birth 3 days later!! I've been told they'll set me up at 36wks this time so that it's all ready for 37wks (as i've never gone to 40wks)....

Can't believe no one's talking to me its my extremely late 'honeymoon'.... surely that makes it plausable???? boo-hoo!!!!!

sorkycake · 27/11/2008 17:33

well provided you hired one the woman I use could fedex one to you tomorrow. Couldn't he have relayed this to you before now!?! Men......

Don't know where you'd buy one tbh.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 17:33

you can use the bath Kay!!

sorkycake · 27/11/2008 17:36

who's not talking to you Glas?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 17:38

Kayz and Nat boooooooo!!! haha!!

sorkycake · 27/11/2008 17:40

I'm having a good few BH today, when does everyone start on the RLT?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 17:41

oooooh- this spag bol made with venison is delish!!!! and its 100% organic, even the garlic, and the spaghetti pasta!!! i feel chuffed!!

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 17:43

Bloody hell Glask, look at you being all organic. DH wants to know if he can come for dinner. He loves venison and I don't eat it so its a no go in our house.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 27/11/2008 17:57

Sorry am trying to keep up on here as well Glask, also got dinner and a very whiney DS1 to contend with, think he is coming down with something - all we need!

Sorky, DS1 is 6yo, more than capable of a phone call (and have in fact already showed him how to ring DH/999) and I have briefed him on what he's to do if the baby did start coming, TBH, I am hoping if it has to be that DH isn't here when it starts, that at least DS1 is, he would be able to make sure DS2 is OK as well, bless him, he's a good boy, even when he is whining down my lug holes!

Kays, another one here who arranged the HB late, not quite as late as 38 weeks, but if that's what you want then go for it, don't waste any more time!

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 27/11/2008 17:58

nat - gr8 news that you dont have to go back to hospital!!
hope that you get con sorted out and feel more confident about not going into birth alone

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 18:00

Kayz- send him round!! I've made way too much, will be taking some to my mums tomorrow i think!! rather it didn't go to waste...

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 27/11/2008 18:06

Thanks Tink

LOL Watch out Kay, Glask is after your fella....

(Watch out Glask, she might just give him to you LOL)

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 18:17

haha- no kays... i have enough housework to do after 2 boys!! i dont need another....... oops what have i done... i may have 3 boys myself as it is

made the mistake of posting this thought AIBU would be the best place to get some replies.... everyone is pouncing on me

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 18:33

think my AIBU thread isn't too bad now.... phew...

felt so bad, but just let the cat in and he seems fine, all be it with some tinsel hanging out of his bum!!

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 18:44

I am PMSL in a very nice way about the cat Glask. It must be horrible for you but it sounds so funny. I would have done the same as you.

I have no way of contacting my MW so I can't ask about having a HB. It would be nice though. DOn't need to worry about waking Mum up in the middle of the night.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 18:48

Kayz- DS slept straight through me having DD!! didn't wake once!!

I'm kinda laughing at the cat walking round with a couple of 1inch pieces of tinsel sticking out of his bum... seems absolutley fine!! He's just curled up on the dining room window-sil asleep....

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 18:53

Thats what I would like. To be able to leave him in bed, if it's overnight and not have to worry too much.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 18:57

Yep!! I'm hoping both will sleep throguh this time... if not I'm not bothered abotu them being there if they want to be... DS has already said he'd like to see his baby brother (he wont accept it could be a sister) being born!!

kayzisexpecting · 27/11/2008 19:06

Awwww DS has just patted my bump and stroked it. Then he smacked DH's bum!!!! He is clever.

I'm now looking at birth pools. On one website you can buy one for £104.99 but hire one for £145. Makes no sense to me.

sorkycake · 27/11/2008 19:10

we'll need a new thread soon how about

" The waters on the wagon go whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! "

I love a bit of onomatoepoeia

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/11/2008 19:27

My cat is now tinsel free!! wuhoo!!

he wont be doing that again i can assure you all of that!! haha!!

DH is very exited to come home to his venison spag bol tonight!! I'm normally only a chicken and a minced steak (only in chilli's and spag bol sauces) kinda gal... so another sort of meat is amazing to him!!
