Oh I'm green with envy Sleep well x

Just eaten about half a bar of dairy milk with crunchie - no will power whatsoever during this pregnancy (or pre-preg come to think about it!).

Thanks for thoughts re: scan. Think I'll mention it early on then and hope she is cool about it. For some reason I am scared we'll get an old hag who doesn't agree with telling the sex and will refuse to look for us!

Cosmogirl · 17/11/2008 13:19

Thanks Kayz Will defo do that then.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 17/11/2008 13:26

take a look here have just been reading this... made me wonder how many poeople from RL are on here too... i dnt know anyone who's said they use MN, but if anyone knew me they would easily know who i was!!

right I AM off for a nap now!!

Diege · 17/11/2008 13:29

Hi COSMO! Very exciting re: scan. Hope you can get through work OK with that headache.
GYO, I'm not finding out the sex either, so there are two of us Am sure mine will be another dd though .
May have a nap myself soon - have given up with work today as whacked. Must have been the busy weekend!

kayzisexpecting · 17/11/2008 13:34

Diege, how would you cope with a boy??? I'm wondering that when if we have DC3 and its a girl would I know what to do.

Diege · 17/11/2008 13:39

I know I've thought that KAY Think dds would be fascinated by the whole brother thing, but I would worry a little about him being a 'little prince', esp with MIL who was 'so sorry' about dd3 being a dd .
GLASK - enjoyed that link! Glad people supported op though and didn't dig to find out goss from the interloper!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/11/2008 13:41

enjoy all your naps

Hurray Diege- not just me having the suprise

Glask- thats weird about that thread and RL people. I never tell people I use MN as I wouldnt want them looking for my posts...

Bizarre!

kayzisexpecting · 17/11/2008 13:43

Thats a good point Diege. I have had people say to me when I've said I'm having another boy, that if I have a girl she'll be spoilt rotten.
I really bugs me when people say "Isn't it a shame" when I say we've been told its another boy.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 17/11/2008 13:50

Kay-
Im shocked people would say that its a shame- sooo rude. It would still be rude if you'd said you wanted a girl but it was a boy.

Some people should really learn to keep their opinions to themselves!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 17/11/2008 14:11

Afternoon.... she says through a mouth full of mince pie. I think I could single handedly keep M&S afloat just with mince pie purchases alone, credit cruch? My arse! Mince pie crunch is going to turn -my-- arse into a mince pie

Must admit, I think I've been quite lucky on the boy comments, a couple of people MIL said things along the lines of 'Ooooh you'll just HAVE to try for a girl next time' but most people have either said 'oooooh lucky you, better 3 boys than girls, girls are nothing but trouble' (which if the shoe was on the other foot would be very annoying!) or we get 'not many more for a 5 a-side team' Just goes to show people are never happy, if we went on to have any more (that'll be never ever BTW) then we'd get all the 'is this the last one?' or 'telly broke?' etc. etc. and yet most of the comments I get now are about having more...

I think people just like to say something.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 17/11/2008 14:12

Balls, knew one of the crossed out words would cock up!

Playingthe9monthwait · 17/11/2008 15:21

Afternoon all,

Sorry to hear about all the MS people are still suffering with!

Glask - I am having exactly the same with my back, hips, pelvis bum and legs. Constant dull ache which is worse when I get very stiff or do too much. Have completely given up walking to work as its agony by the time I get there. I plan to talk to the MW next week when I see her, have a sneaking suspicion it maybe SPD, am hoping its not though! I'm not going to moan though, as aches and pain are something I am very used to and can deal with, prefer it any day to MS!

Nat - how are you and your on-going saga?

How exciting that we are getting closer to more scans!! Not sure abotu etiquette, we werent going to find out but when she was scanning the nether regions both DH and I were pretty certain fraggle was a boy and DH said "is that what i think it is?" and the sonographer grined and said "yes, no suprise there then, he's not exactly being shy"

Umm, sure I was going to say something else...

Anyway, can't remember, Hi everyone

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 17/11/2008 15:52

hi playing

sorry for all the aches and pains all the joys of pregnancy

Heebeejeebee · 17/11/2008 15:54

Hi there

Sadly its not great news from me. My blood test results are back and they only rose 4000 over the weekend, when they should have doubled. The EP midwife said they would leave my scan next Tuesday. I thought that seemed too far away so we have agreed on a blood test on Wednesday. She has, however, told me to prepare myself for the worst.

Thanks for all your support. Hopefully Latour has space for me on the conception thread after Christmas

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 17/11/2008 15:57

oh poor you heebeejeebee
we are here for support

Diege · 17/11/2008 16:04

2beautifulgalsandabean · 17/11/2008 16:44

Heebs i am so sorry about the news not looking great We are all here if you ever need to chat.

Diege- Glad DD2 party went well and you mananged to keep your oven chip butty well hidden Hope your theories on sickness are right for you and eases up soon.

NJ- when do you go back to hospital for trace? Is it tonight? Hopefully you will get some answers and hopefully a scan.

Kayz- sorry for the kidney infection, but like someone said (diege?) it will be over this time next month hopefully

Tink- love the table and sling, you are definately the shopaholic of the wagon

GYO- i don't want to find out the sex either so that makes 3 aslong as DH doesn't get his way. think i have convinced him though.

Hi everyone else (waves)

I seem to have patterns of sickness, 3 good days then 2 bad days. Rough yesterday and feeling yucky today not actually sick thou! Hopefully that'll be the 2 yuck days 9smile0

RE: the SPD. I didn't know it then or not until recently but from about 30 weeks last pregnancy i had really bad hips, achy especially in bed and saw the physio who gave me exercises and sent me to some water antenatal classes.
Anyway my hips, lower back and down the backs of my legs and inner thigh ache really bad, especially when sitting? So thought it was the start of SPD again, hope not. See the consultant next Tuesday so will mention it to them, along with the billion other things to talk about
this pregnancy is definately the most hard going so far and DEFINATELY my last...
Thinking about donating my eggs once i'm through with this, something i've always wanted to do.
Local NCT pram/buggy and toy sale a week on saturday, i am going to pop along hoping to find a good pram/buggy for £100 or preferably under.

sorkycake · 17/11/2008 16:46

Sorry for your news Heebs

Glask & Playing the SPD is the pubic bone pain, it feels exactly as it suggests, like your pubic bone is separating.
Round ligament pain is quite common, as is SI pain which is more lower back/hip pain.
A Physio will give you a fembrace, which incidentally is the same treatment for SPD, and some exercises to try to strengthen the muscles as well as your pelvic floor.

Glaskham as this is your 3rd pg, I'd be a bit surprised if it didn't get worse so it might be best to see the PT straightaway. Sorry that's crappy advice btw.

Diege hurrah for something to eat!....and that you're 9 weeks!!

NJ I hear you on the mince pie front . I weighed myself the other day and I've put on 1st 1lb at 28 weeks.

I've had a word with the baby and told her 6 more lbs and that's her lot ;) My 'proper' m/w appt's start on Wednesday, it's sneaking up quick isn't it.

Cosmo we had to sign a form to know the sex, so handed this in before the sonographer started. She checks everything with the screen away from you first, then will show you key bits, you could ask then if she can tell. I think that might be good 'sexiquette'.

LBOT change your name and get thee'sell on the list woman, you're pregnant!!

I'm thinking I really should start collecting stuff for the baby, or at the very least look in the loft and see what I already have , .......yet strangely enough I'm distracted by another mince pie.......

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 17/11/2008 16:48

oh HBJB...after all the positive signs aswell. I am so very sorry for your news. You know we're all here if you need us!!

tink- thats the matching baby unit as the bouncy chair i got... and i'm thinking of getting the changing unit now too!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 17/11/2008 16:56

sorry sorky- i know i've been around aaaaaggggggeeeeeessssss now but whats a PT? the pain has been hurting like a bitch today... even aching now pretty badly... its not normally this bad, and i think i must have over-done it on the cleaning and sorting yesterday. if i have this for another 20wks then i know i wont be able to cope with it, and thats saying it gets no worse than it is today.

sorkycake · 17/11/2008 17:11

Sorry, it's abbrev for Physio.

Mine is much worse when I clean the house, which obv you have to do. I haven't hit slattern standards yet, but my nesting is kicking in and I suspest I'm going to be in a bit of trouble then.

With my 2nd pg I had Sacro-Illiac pain and left work, unable to drive and in almost constant pain, at 26 weeks.

With my 3rd pg I had SPD, but not SI, and lasted until 24 weeks, again unable to drive.

This time around I'm 28 weeks and some days are a real struggle, but I don't have to drive as far my job is better supported and I've had 2 days off when I needed Dh at home to look after the kids because I simply couldn't do it.

I'm wearing a fembrace everyday from when I get up until about 9pm. Then I swap to a piece of, like tubigrip, but it's specifically to support my bump.
I'm on painkillers from when I get up and have 2 fairly hot baths a day. If it gets very bad I have codeine, but it makes me wappy and the bub sleepy, so I'm reluctant to take it.
I can drive now that we have a Galaxy, but for no longer than about 20-30 minutes, which luckily gets me pretty much where we need to be.

By 3pm, I cannot stand any longer than 10 seconds.

It's shit! BUT it isn't forever, and people have worse pain to live with on a daily basis with no end in sight. I just keep telling myself "X weeks to go".

I've been told by the m/w that it will likely worsen as I get heavier and the strain increases on my pelvis, to the point where i'll need crutches to walk, but I'm determined not to get to there. If that happens, they will give me the options of subsequent sweeps from 37 weeks or an early induction.

I might opt for the sweeps if I'm really struggling, but not the induction. Had one before, would never ever do it again.
