DH does feel quite lucky this morning. I normally tell him to shove off as I'm too tired, too uncomfortable etc.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 18/11/2008 09:02

ahh i think mine has worn off too!!

a couple of nights ago i was just dropping off as DH tried to pounce on me... i say pounce it was a grab my hand and put it you-know-where... i moved my hand away, he put it back, then i half sat up and nearly cried at him 'just let me sleep'.... poor nam!! he said he hadn't got any for over a week!!

Though when i do want some GOFing its me jumping on him the second we get into bed, then rolling over and falling asleep straight afterwards!! haha!! aren't i awful!!

Heebeejeebee · 18/11/2008 09:05

Hi all

Thanks for your kind words. I've decided not to go into work today/tomorrow, but I'll probably go in Th/Fr/Mon before the scan - as you say, its not totally over yet (though I'm not holding out much hope at all) so I'll see what they say next Tuesday.

Too much chocolate on this thread - I'm going to have go out now at some point to get some cadburys shots!!

NJ - sorry to hear your nightmare is continuing - I hope they'll start listening to you soon..

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 18/11/2008 09:10

Hi HeeBee - good to hear from you. I think you're doing the right thing taking time off today and tomorrow and tbh I'd consider taking Th/Fri/Mon and more off if you need it. I know things don't sound promising but the HCG levels did go up. You take care of yourself and keep posting so we know how you are and can try and support you through this.

Glaskham - there's me thinking that only my DH does that grabbing of my hand and placing it thing! Bless him though, he hasn't even tried the last 12 weeks! Maybe I'll wake up with that overnight change you talk about and suprise him!

Right, I am really going now as otherwise I'll be late for my meeting!

Diege · 18/11/2008 09:11

Morning! Had to skim very quickly over food conversations last night I must admit as sickness has returned with a vengeance . Suppose it finishing at 9 weeks was wishful thinking... At least (on history) I don't suffer with the dreaded SPD though - I don't know how you put up with both SORKY!!
NAT, I would be cynical of small for dates baloney. Been there, diagonied with that (dd1 and dd3) and it was all wrong. Weight/size can be up to 3 weeks out at this stage, and waters thing sounds a reasonable theory (our theories eh )Hopefully the scan today will put your mind at rest, or at the very least give you some answers!
Morning SES, GLASK, GYO! Libido-wise it's no-go city in the diege household - can't even bear more than a hug as I can smell dh's (normal smelling) breath but it smells, well, so breathy.
GYO, I remember the maternity countdown. Managed to stay till 37 weeks or so with dd1, 30 weeks with dd2 (signed off with high blood pressure and work didn't twig to start maternity leave then as they legally can - was great!), and dd3 33 weeks or so, although again think I did some sort of sick leave fiddle . This time I'm down to teach a module that finishes mid-June - obviously no way I'm staying till then, so may finish beg of May. What week are you planning on started your leave GYO?

Had a bad dream about 12 week scan last night. Sonographer came out and tried to convince me to have nuchal scan (they don't offer at Warrington just yet I don't think)and was very sceptical about our refusal. We had one with dd3 privately, but after much soul searching have decided to forego all screening as couldnt terminate for Downs syndrome. Odd how my views change - had amnio with dd1 and if it had been bad news would probably have terminated, but now couldn't contemplate. Think I've realised after 3 that all children have their challenges, and have become more 'what will be will be' about the whole thing. Ironically my risks are the highest with this pregnancy because of my age!
Sorry for me rant .
Meant to say too TINKS I love your sling, and am planning on ordering one. What colour did you get? Will be interesting to see how you get on with it.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 18/11/2008 09:19

Heebs, I don't know what to say, I don't want to be too positive at the risk of getting your hopes up, but at the same time going down the other path doesn't bear thinking about at the moment, just know that we are all here for you, whenever you feel like it. I will be thinking of you.

Diege I measured 29cm yesterday (I am 33+3 today), half of me thinks this fundal height measurement thing is a load of balls, and have said so on many occasions, but then I think it can't be that far out without a reason..... more bloody swings and roundabouts! Sorry for sickness returning, hope it is better today? And FWIW, I agree with you on the tests/terminating, I think if there was something bad enough that the baby wouldn't survive then it'd show up on a regular scan. But I also felt very differently with my first pregnancy.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 18/11/2008 09:20

oh Diege- i was the same until about 12 wks i think- defo no-go on bedtime front- and DH's normal smell, breath, body (even just after a shower) made me heave... dont think i've told him though... just blamed it on the sickness!!

kayzisexpecting · 18/11/2008 09:24

My MW thinks Fundal Height is useless. She said that it can depend on where the baby is lying and all sorts. I was measuring to big at 29 weeks, too big at 32 weeks and normal at 34 weeks.

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 18/11/2008 09:27

hi diege - i ordered pink one my fav colour.
researched slings loads yest on net that one kept coming up read tons of gr8 reviews.
hbj - sounds like taking work off is a good idea take care

tinkisallreadytositonthetree · 18/11/2008 09:29

with dd i was measuring 3 cms under @ 33 weeks and had to have a growth scan.
she weighed 6lbs12.5 @ birth then dropped 2 centiles and is fussy now and never gained weight properley. she is 3 years and 2 months and in 18-24 month clothes weighs 25 lbs.
last week with midwife i measured 32 cms @ 31 weeks.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 18/11/2008 09:30

I have never been measured yet!! not with any of my pregnancies... though i've heard about it.

argh!!! got to arrange the council to come and collect the old sofa... got to pay them to take it away.... and as it doesn't have the fire retardent label still on, can see where it was though, but the label has been removed, we can't donate it to a charity or anything!! BUMMER!!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 18/11/2008 09:30

Hi Diege
What a strange dream! Sorry to hear the sickness is still there... fingers crossed it will start to get better soon...

Going on Maternity leave at 34/35wks as I have to use holiday up before I go

Still seems like a long way off and also quite early. If I didnt commute I'd happily work longer but the commute is killing me...

Am already doing 2days a week from home, hoping to extend to 3 days after xmas but not sure my (unsympathetic) boss will go for that.

Ho hum- sorry me me me......

Diege · 18/11/2008 09:35

Nat, she didn't measure with tape measure did she Even palpating to get measurement is inaccurate (get all this off my sister who's a midiwfe). While the second method can on occasion suggest slow growth, babies (they are saying now) often don't floow the plot on the graph. My dd1 was always a week and a half behind, measured 31 weeks at 34 weeks, but on my 'emergency growth scan' was half a week ahead . Just good to arm yourself with a huge dose of scepticism re: fundal height!

GLASK, good to hear I'm not alone on poison breath front. I actually had a dream a few nights ago where I had a you-know-what and woke up with terrible cramps. Didn't tell dh - that would def. encourage a hand on his bits scenario

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 18/11/2008 09:35

right i'm off for the day i think... DH is off today instead of tomorrow so we have to our list of jobs for tomorrow today instead...

He's attempting to change DD's nappy... but doing it in a huffy way- shame he wont sympathies with ME!!! just because he's got a blocked nose he's thinking i have to do everythign still!!! blimin men!! i can see me stressing today!!!! A LOT!!

bye!!

Diege · 18/11/2008 09:37

GYO, totally agree, it's the commute that's the killer. Remember saying at work that if they could just helicopter me in I'd stay till the end!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 18/11/2008 09:40

Yep Kay, I've had my MW roll her eyes at having to do it for paper work reasons, it's just another thing to worry about!

My MW has just rang, why is it that no one can understand that the very last thing I need from today is to go in, they do the scan, find nothing and send me packing? It isn't that I am wishing there to be something wrong, but I need some answers, something is going on that isn't straight forward, and yes obviously we are hoping beyond that it isn't anything serious, but just leaving me to it is not an option anymore. I feel like a complete attention seeker, and a drama queen to boot, looking for a problem that isn't there, but it this - whatever is going on - isn't right, and I can't settle until they find what it is. But how do I make them see that without sounding like a morbid nightmare?

Hospital has just rang as well, scan at 12.

I have a headache. Sorry, you must all be so fed up of my moaning, poor Heebs is going through all of that and here I am, whinging on... Sorry

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 18/11/2008 09:47

Sorry x posts with a few there, bloody phone hasn't stopped! And sorry for missed and extra words, don't think my brain is in gear yet!

She had a good old feel round and then measured. I suppose it all seems worse to me because with the boys they were always ahead, both on the big side when born, so I am used to being at the other end of the scale IYKWIM?

Anyway, am stopping moaning, again

Can't pretend I know what the commute is like, but I certainly don't any of you having to do it!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 18/11/2008 11:45

Im going mad mad mad.

Can I use being preg as excuse for abusing possibly stabbing boss?

Time and time again he makes me so stressed as he doesnt trust me to do my job. That it makes the baby go hyper inside me and im so upset. He has to write my appraisal- hmmmm....

Rant over

sorkycake · 18/11/2008 11:48

Rant away GYO!

Can I ask for wagon advice?

I have to wear a fembrace during the day for the SPD. It has to be quite tight to hold my pelvis together. I have to wear it otherwise I couldn't manage the house and 3 kids.

I have now definitely developed Vulval varicosities and these are very sore/swollen.

Could this be due to the constriction of the fembrace around my pelvis as it travels across my pubic bone?
What do you think?

sorkycake · 18/11/2008 11:50

please no sad smilies.
I'm fine, lots of you are far worse off than me

Actually did NJ say her scan was at 12pm?

lastboxoftampons · 18/11/2008 11:54

The wagon moves so fast, I just can't keep up It makes me want to cry. But so does everything else at the moment! That's normal, right? Last night DH said something to me and I nearly burst into tears, but I stopped myself and thought you're going mad!

He also caught me taking my third pregnancy test this morning (which was really my fifth! but he doesn't need to know that) and freaked all the way out on me. He thinks I'm overanalysing. There's no such thing!

Gyo Was he always thsi bad or is it magnified by your pg? I think you can probably get away with kicking him in the shins if you can run away fast enough!

nat hope your scan goes well and that you find out what you need to know! Good luck!

HBJB Hope you're taking good care of yourself. I think it's wise you stay home and try to take it easy for a few days.

RE: the GOF'ing, I think I'm at the point where I dont' really see the need I mean, we did it enough to get to this point, can't we take a break for a while Plus I've been going to bed a good 2-3 hours before DH at the moment. My horrible AF-like cramps continue but seem to only really appear at night. They are a bit scary though

lastboxoftampons · 18/11/2008 11:56

sorky cross-posted! My previous post does have lots of faces, but none directed at you!

I'm sorry, I know nothing of SPD and your brace, but I'm sure someone here will Hope you're staying well!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 18/11/2008 12:30

Thanks guys- rant and office escape for lunch made me feel bit better.

LBOT- 5 pregnancy test is pretty good going i reckon! definately room there for a few more. If it makes you feel better then do it! I did one at 6wks as I just didnt feel any different. Funny how fast the line came up!
LOL might just kick him in nuts and run- would be more satisfying. he's always been arse and just doesnt like women in office so a pregnant one is insult to him!

Sorky- hmm no expert but logic would suggest the two things could be linked but then arent the vulval things caused by downward pressure rather than pressure of the pelvis being held together? Sorry cant say much more- maybe post on the preg board for more advice?

hi everyone else

Hope all ok with Nat.

wilsonmummy · 18/11/2008 12:49

Hey all

I feel proper poo today i haven't gone into work, which is very unlike me, i usually go into work even if i feel like death!!

Been watching i'm a celebrity, do not like Kilroy at all!! up is own arse big time!!

Sorky.. sounds like your having a tough time hon!! hope the brace helps!

Lbox.. I feel more emotional at the moment to, felt like bursting into tears yesterday cos kids were stressing me out, they were having a lets run riot and be monkeys all day type of day!!

HBJB..Take care and get some rest hon, we're here for you to offload onto us if you feel the need.

Gyo..don't do it..don't that pg is a good enough reason for stabbing boss.. just give him a swift poke in the eye

Glask.. i have a craving for milky things to i also have a cupoard full of angel delight, i bought 2 frijd milkshakes yesterday and i must be drinking at least 2 pints of milk a day!! hope thats good for baby!!?

Nat.. good luck with emergeny scan today, hopefully they'll be able to confirm whether its a slow water leakage or not!!

hi to everyone else, so much to catch up on can't remember anything else!

Managed to nip into the disney store yesterday, i coud've spent a fortune but i resisted think dh would've gone mad if i'd spent to much, still have a lot of money to spend on the house! Bought winnie the poo and little mermaid figurine set, really cute and went into h&m and bought some beads and bracelets, my dd are very much girlie girls!

wow that was a long one!!

kayzisexpecting · 18/11/2008 13:07

Sorry your boss is useless GYo, throw something at him.

Nat, I hope all is going well. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Sorky, I'm not sure about the brace as I only got mine yesterday. I really do hate it though. I had it on yesterday and went to walk up the stairs and I couldn't. I really struggled so I have to take it off if I need to go upstairs. As I'm needing the toilet all the time, I spend more time with the brace off.

I want cheese and pickle sandwiches!! Lots of them all the time!!
