Hello everyone

thought i'd start the new thread since i haven't posted on the last one in a couple of days.

I'm well although my patience/tolerance/ability to smile has completely gone out of the window. I don't seem to have any patience with DD (she really is suffering) or DH. i'm moody and sulky. the only thing that seems to calm me down is a nice bath at the end of the day.

Is it all pregnancy hormones and is anyone else feeling the same!?!?!

OMG how embarrassing. I went swimming this lunchtime, determined to do 36 lengths (am working my way up to 40), but in order to do it between the pool opening and my bus to take me back home, I had to swim very fast, then powerwalk the 10 mins to the bus-stop. All fine, until on the bus on the way home I started feeling hotter and hotter, and fainter and fainter...ulp. I was surrounded by neighbours (there is only the one bus to town and back so everyone gets it!), all elderly, who fussed over me, opened the window, took my coat, put my head between my knees etc... thank GOD I didn't pass out! That'll teach me to overdo it.... Am fine now but still a bit wobble-legged - don't think I'll tell dh, he is always telling me that I do too much and should listen to my body and slow down...

Poor you Miaou - I love the descriptions of your life - it just makes me think of Balamory - the idea of ever knowing anyone on a bus in London (or of anyone caring if you have a dizzy spell) is quite amazing......

Wow Miaou, u must have some energy girl!!! I'm having real probs motivating myself to get into the gym!

Got my 20 wk scan tomorrow, feelin a bit apprehensive and haven't got anyone to come down with me which is a bummer - am gonna treat myself to some maternity clothes after tho , my bump seems to have appeared over the past week!

Taking my 7 yr old to Tenerife next week for us to have a hol for just the 2 of us before baby no.2 comes along.

Sorry folks, started the thread, but buggered up the link, must read the instructions again more carefully Our stats make an interesting read, it's amazing how our plans for the 'big day' are all so different. I suppose I should also start to think about what the plan is for DS. Didn't have to think about it last time, just packed up and went to the hospital.

I've had a raging thirst all day, I must have drunk 2 litres of water by 9am and now I am a fountain!!! I'm sure I will be up all night.

Great idea for the stats thread Kate100.

Good luck for the scan tomorrow BuninTum, i have mine on thursday and will be going on my own as DH is on nights this week and MIL will have DD. Getting very nervous now.

Good luck for your scan today Bunintum, and have a great holiday with your DD. Good luck tomorrow for yours KMS.

I'm wearing maternity trousers to work for the first time today - and look so much bigger than when I squeezed into normal clothes. It's like I've gained a month. DH told DS this morning that I had eaten too much and it was just food in my tummy, to which DS replied in a silly-daddy kind of way "no Daddy, there's a little guy in there".

Good luck to Bunintum and KMS for your scans. Hope all goes well for you.

Good idea for the stats page.

Miaou - I had to chuckle at your story even though you must have felt pretty bad. I've had a couple of "wobbly" moments but luckily have been with dh when they've happened, not a bus load of neighbours!

Good luck to everyone with scans today and tomorrow! hope it all goes well.

mine is on friday and i'm progressively getting more and more nervous. i know there is nothing to worry about, but i did eat 2 runny eggs but did not feel sick so obviously i'm paranoid about it now.

other than that, my pregnancy is going well. i've got a HUGE bump - although i'm only 22 weeks, i look like the french equalivalent of 7 months!! very disheartening.... but i'm enjoying the energy ...

Great news on all the scans! Haven't been around much. Got Colin's germs and have developed bronchitis, so having a hard time breathing and sleeping. Finally had an easier time breathing last night, but got a cough that kept me awake instead.

Have settled on names. Like to see what you think. Ian Nicholas for a boy. I'd like Caitlin Elizabeth for a girl, but Elizabeth is the name of the supremely evil (by my own account too) step-mother of my MIL, so I know she wouldn't be too keen on that, though I bet she wouldn't say anything. Maybe Caitlin Ella instead? Any thoughts on those name? Honesty appreciated, even if you don't like them.

Hey girls!

Really chuffed, had my scan and everything was fine - phew! Weird how you always expect the worst isn't it!! Still, guess it makes you appreciate things more when they say its ok.

Went shopping and got some nice mat clothes in H&M and seeing as its all bohemian stuff in fashion this summer means theres lots of nice clothes for us to get away with bigger sizes from normal shops.

Had my first stranger notice my tummy today too and ask when it was due, that made me feel really good too, means I must be looking pregnant rather than just frumpy at last

Hope you are all feelin well and happy 2. xx

You poor thing Colinsmummy, I hope you will feel better soon. I like both of those names, don't think you should be put off by the evil woman but I know can be a pain when you do associate a name with somebody.

I like the mix of modern and then a classic name, sounds chic so I'd go for Caitlin Elizabeth but that's just my humble opinion!

Miaou · 23/03/2005 20:58

colinsmommy, Caitlin is my dd1's first name, so naturally I am v. biased and love it! Love Ella as a second name too. And Nicholas is dh's first name! What good tasted

glad your scan went well bunintum

Colinsmummy both names are lovely though i do think Caitlin Elizabeth sounds nicer together but I wouldnt be able to bring myself to call my baby after someone i didnt like. I notice you said before about the spelling Iain that is my uncles name and im very igonrant in thinking everyone else i know will be spelt that way.

i cant find a girls name i can settle on or that i dont know someone with the same name, i did this the last time could only find boys names.
Ryan Alexander and the girls name of the day but will change next week is Faye, I love the name Iona but DH point black says no

Glad that I tasted so good Miaou.

I only met the evil Elizabeth in question once. When I think of the name, it doesn't really bring up anything in my mind, I just know it would in my MIL's. When Colin was born they had me fill in the paperwork for his name literally an hour or so after the birth, so I was thinking of making a "mistake" in filling it out this time and putting it down as Elizabeth, and just calling her Caitlin Ella in front of MIL if baby's a girl.

I love the spelling Iain, but I've met someone here with an Iain that is a few years older than Colin, and she says she has an awful time with people not knowing how to say his name, so I think we are just going to stick to the version with only one 'I'.

Thanks for your input.

Josey-love Ryan Alexander, btw.
