Hello everyone

thought i'd start the new thread since i haven't posted on the last one in a couple of days.

I'm well although my patience/tolerance/ability to smile has completely gone out of the window. I don't seem to have any patience with DD (she really is suffering) or DH. i'm moody and sulky. the only thing that seems to calm me down is a nice bath at the end of the day.

Is it all pregnancy hormones and is anyone else feeling the same!?!?!

ds will be 2 and a half when the new baby arrives. I can't imagine having 2 under 2!

Lovely news about your brother and SIL Maiou. Josey, when's your birthday? I hope you have a great day. Strange thought about entering the 3rd trimester. I'm only 25 weeks so a few weeks to go yet.

Glad it's not just me josey. I reckon I'm in for a nasty shock once this bub comes along - it's a VERY long time since I had my sleep broken in the night!!

Just got back from the dr, and she said upon further review, not to go buy anything pink. I guess my scan was one of the most inconclusive that they've had in a long time, they just really didn't get a good look. Oh well, doesn't really matter, does it?

She also said that I've had 2 of the most healthy pregnancies she's seen, so that's really good.

Miaou, Colin will be 2 years and 13 days if the baby comes on the due date. That gets me out of having 2 under 2, doesn't it? And don't feel so bad about the age gap in your children. My mom had a child in the 70's, one in the 80's and one in the 90's if you're looking for big gaps.

Just quick post before nipping to Chinese - I think Josey that the 3rd trimester starts at 28 weeks from what my Miram Stoppard book says?!

Not much to report re pg. Though I suppose that can only be a good thing .
My dss are 5(tomorrow) and 8. Can't say that I've had that many completely unbroken nights the youngest still creeps into our bed, thing is I'm sure he does it in his sleep because he has no recollection of actually leaving his room by the morning and often comments on how good he was to stay in his own bed all night!
Ds1 was 8 last week so they'll be having a joint BP on Sunday (24 kids) at the last count! Have been v.extravagent and booked a wonderful man who does 2 hours of games, magic tricks and a puppet show. When I asked did I need to do anything he said no, just squash and a few nibbles. I think I want to marry him
Suppose I should make a couple of Birthday cakes too.
Hope you are all keeping well and taking good care of yourselves.

my youngest will be 2 the week before baby is due! as all of mine have been late though I am sure I won't have 2 under 2! I did for 2 weeks with my boys as DS2 was born 2 weeks before DS1's 2nd birthday! Joint birthday parties are great!!

My DS is 2 3 days before my due date, so I may or may not have 2 under 2. Deoends on whether I'm overdue or not, whicj I'm sure I will. DH and I have had to come up with contingency plans for DS's birthday party in case the baby arrives. So we're having it early and if the baby comes on that day we'll have it later on his actual birthday. I hate that I can't make properplans for him, I don't supppose he'll remember, but he didn't ask to be a big brother. Guilty mommy here

Interesting stuff in the newspapers this week about the predicted heatwave for July and August this year. Looks like we could be in for an extra-hot last few weeks of pregnancy. Better order in those ice-lollies...

Yeah, several people have gleefully told me that the hottest day of the year is supposed to be on the 12th, my due date. I think I'll spend the last four weeks sitting in ds' paddling pool. [grr, gerof its mine emoticon]

Hi guys, hope you all well. Written in haste before going to work, feeling a bit stressed need some opinions/support! My due date is Aug 29th and my sis-in-law has suddenly announced she is getting married on August 19th! About 70 miles from where we live, would be an overnight thing. Am worried obviously about being "early" (and blimey it's getting bigger by the second and kicking like a proper boxer!)...also had this image that I'd be chilling out at home for at least 2 weeks before, not going anywhere much...when we tried to suggest she have wedding a bit later (like end of sep) she said "Well I can't plan it around your baby can I". Grrr! Am I being silly? Dh a bit worried too. Should I take hospital bag with me? Talk to midwife? Not go at all? (I'm not sure I really want to but that would be mean!) I just feel a bit hormonal and like no one really understands...being first baby I just want everything to be "right" - ie staying near the hospital I have chosen and having time to do not much! Have to go, but I'd really appreciate any opinions here thanks a lot xx

Hi everyone - I hope you all had nice weekends. Rubyring, how annoying about the timing of the wedding. I don't think you are going to know if you are up for going until nearer the time. The statistic is that most first babies are born late, but it's impossible to know on an individual basis. I would be tempted to accept with the provision that you may have to cancel at the last minute, depending on how you feel - I trust your SIL will be understanding about that. Do you have to stay overnight, i.e. could you go to the ceremony & reception but not the evening do? Yes, I would put the hospital bag in the car just in case.

It's amazing how many sibling birthdays are in August, especially all of you who will have 2 year-olds. My baby is due 2 days before DS's 4th birthday, so am in a similar position. I don't know what to do about a party for DS. In the past we haven't really done much for his birthday - at most some family around and some cake - but since he's been at pre-school he has a wider circle of friends and they all have had major invite-the-class parties. I don't want DS to feel left out, but realistically I might still be in hospital on his birthday. Maybe I'll arrange something / somewhere that provides catering and fullly brief my parents.

My other 2 are 4 and 8 so I'm not going for the under 2's club at all!!!! Think I only have sex during the Olympics! Had fab scan on Friday at Tommy's - they did a bit in 4D which was AMAZING! I think they were trying out their new equipment and training someone...I had a consultant and three doctors in there, so I'm very pleased with my care....I did, however have raised bp and 1 + of protein so I had to have speciall pre-eclampsia blood tests on my liver function, which they rushed through and I had to wait for them. I honestlty thought they were going to take me in there and then, so I am now a huge bundle of nerves....I feel like I'm sitting on a timebomb at the moment, am very grouchy and horrible to kids and dh and feeling a bit overwhelmed by the responsibility of it all....what have I done.....

It's a girl and she looks cool at the moment - only at 25 weeks, so once I get to 28 weeks, I'll relax a bit more....At the moment, my hopes of making it into August are very low but I want to be wrong.....

Keep your legs crossed for me, ladies!

I'll be thinking about you, Beachyhead. I had protein in my urine from 30 weeks on with Colin, but it never was explained, and never turned into p/e, so I hope the same for you.

So sorry about the timing of the wedding, rubyring. I don't have to go anywhere, but DH has to go to Las Vegas for his work 2 weeks before the baby is due, and they won't let him out of it, because the last time he was supposed to go out of town was on my due date 2 years ago, so they let him out then. I just KNOW I'll give birth early, even though he isn't here, even though it is highly unlikely.

Azure · 17/05/2005 10:12

Beachyhead glad the scan was so good - it certainly sounds like you had sufficient attention. How lovely to know it's a girl. Sorry to hear about the BP and protein - another thing you could do without worrying about. Fingers crossed your baby decides she's far too comfortable inside you and hangs on until August.

Colinsmommy, how annoying your DH has to go on a trip. I must remember to tell DH he is not allowed to go away in August (if he can help it), or September for that matter. When DS was a month old he went to LA for a week, which I wasn't pleased about, especially as it was only 2 weeks after 9/11 and he missed my birthday. Not that you want to hear this, but a friend of mine went into labour early and her DH had to rush back from Madrid (telling the airport staff "I'm having a baby" to get the last seat on the plane) - he got to the hospital just in time. They laugh about it now - at the time I suspect it wasn't so funny.
