rubysmum i'm fed up with the fireworks too. ds is scared of them and the dog.. well gibbering wreck is apt. it's pouring with rain here and they're still going off!

Rubysmom08 · 08/11/2008 19:40

Fikelly- what happened to all the lovely fireworks that were about the colours and lights instead of replicating Beruit? Honestly DD has just finished crying her heart out and is now asleep on the sofa with me with a blanket over her ears, she is usually in bed for 7pm until 8am, poor bugger!

MrsEvs · 08/11/2008 19:41

Pauline78 Congrats and welcome

MrsF very but have a wonderful time. I know I should be excited because we are going to Disney in Florida this week, but at the moment, feeling this sick, I'm not sure the miles of walking and constant activity will actually be much fun for me! At least I'll be warm I suppose!

Rubysmom08 Your instincts could be right but don't let the differing pregnancies fool you! I have 2 girls and the pregnancies couldn't have been more different - not a single day of nausea v. daily for 5 months, carried high with one, low with the other, dreadful reflux with one, none with the other, crippling sciatica with one, none with the other.....etc, etc.

I honestly don't know what I would like this time - in a way it would be nice to have a boy I suppose (and I know my husband would feel less outnumbered ), but on the other hand I think I'd be a bit freaked out at this point, I'm so set up for girls - and I quite like the idea of a big gang of girls!

Rubysmom08 · 08/11/2008 19:41

it's terrible for dogs too- poor you having to deal with both!! Our dogs used to wet themselves with fear, oh well we have new year to look forward to next!!!!

Rubysmom08 · 08/11/2008 19:44

MrsEvs- I know what you mean about the girls, I can deal with girls, I'm a girl I know what they think, how they fall in love how they fight with their freinds- I don't know about boys, and plus they have willies- I've never had one of those

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 19:48

Yum just taken the cakes out of the oven.. the smell is making me salivate at the thought of munching them.. but they're just too hot!

SweetBROODY · 08/11/2008 20:14

pulapula, MsG, Moonlit Congrats on the lovely scans.. mine went well - I was so happy and excited... then my dads had a heart attack this morning so i've been all over the place...

I paid £12 for 6 pics - but out of them only one was really good.. we could see the face smiling and the eyes and nose and proper smile i'm really happy and DH has now told everyone.. It was being lazy! just lying there moving around.. so the heart beat as well... the nuchal was ok as well.. this scan was well worth it - I guess i'd pay £100 for it if I HAD to

the MW was really appoligetic that I hadnt been referrred to the consultant yet.. becuase its a high risk pregnancy.

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 20:25

sweetbroody how awful about your dad. i hope it wasn't too massively serious

delighted to hear about your scan.. i'm still waiting on my consultant app too. hope you don't mind me asking.. are you high risk because of previous problems?

SweetBROODY · 08/11/2008 20:50

That and I was diagnosed with Diabetes in May when I had my MMC.... its been a tough ride.. all the more reason for the scan being so special... it was so cute!

SweetBROODY · 08/11/2008 20:57

I've put a scan pic up if anyone wants to see

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 20:58

sweetbroody ahh def a lot to cope with all at the one time. Have you found the pregnancy affecting your diabetes at all?

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 21:00

SweetBROODY · 08/11/2008 21:08

I wish I could have another ... in the next few weeks.. I really want to see it before the year ends.. that eould be a perfect birthday for me...

1stMrsF · 08/11/2008 21:14

Thanks FiKelly! Rubysmom I second the vote for Best Friend's Guide - it is fabulous, I keep re-reading it. I've put the Best Friend's Guide to the first year on my Christmas wish list.

1stMrsF · 08/11/2008 21:24

Oops, missed the next page. Thank you also to Rubysmom & MrsEvs too!

Glad to see you back SweetBroody, and pleased that everything went well with scan. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad - is he OK?

Really am going to get offline now and finish packing. See you in a week.

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 21:26

sweetbroody I know what you mean I think we'll be due for our 20wk scan about christmas time... you'll be early jan?

Febes · 08/11/2008 21:31

I have mine on the 29th of Dec

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 21:37

I'm guessing xmas time... from my calculations. will have to wait a while on hospital giving official date I expect.

flippineck · 08/11/2008 22:13

Evening all!

sweetbroody sorry to hear about your dad, hope all is ok.

I've got my 20 week scan booked already, round here you book them straight after the 12 week one is done. Mine's on the 19 December, can't wait! Can't believe that I'm 14 weeks now either. I think I'l have to get my maternity clothes out in the next week or so, currently only wearing skirts to work, and when I wear my jeans I have to do the button up with a hair elastic.

I've told a couple of people at work now too, but there's loads I haven't yet.

pulapula · 08/11/2008 22:31

Evening all,

So glad the scan went well SweetBroody and sorry to hear about your dad. I was really worried about you as I knew what you'd been through before.

Told my mum the news on the phone yesterday. She was very excited. I guessed she would ask "Was it planned?" lol and sure enough she did. Also guessed she'd ask what I wanted, but i don't want to get the "oh you must be disappointed" if it ends up being the opposite so I just said "a baby".

{pulapula whispers- think i'd like a girl tho but really, healthy baby is the most important thing}

My 20 week scan is booked for 6 Jan, 9.20am. Booked for a Tues when DC are both in nursery - it was difficult entertaining DS for 2 hours at hosp. However, DD is really keen to come and will be less trouble, and felt a bit left out when she realised we'd all been to the scan without her. So we might drop DS at nursery and take her with us.

mumof2andabit · 08/11/2008 22:39

Can I join? Am 12weks pregnant with no.3 and got 2 under 2 hehehehhe im mad! Have 2yo ds and 7mo dd. Scan on tuesday........

Oh and have felt like crap for the last 7 weeks consistantly.....i hate morning sickness.

divedaisy · 08/11/2008 22:58

Welcome Pauline78 and Yes! mumof2andabit you are more than welcome to join!
SweetBroody - I really hope your dad is OK... remember to look after yourself too xx
FiKelly, I'm having my 20 week scan on 31st Dec.
Thanks for all of you who posted about bringing your kids to scans! I will be bringing ds to the next one - he's so excited it seams unfair to me to leave him out! He gave my tummy a kiss last night and keeps asking if i can feel the baby kicking - i really think i can feel it kick especially during the evenings. Hopefully in a few weeks it'll be 'feelable' on the outside - he'll have fun with that!

DH was going to give me £50 today to go and treat myself with something new to wear! I said 'Thanks' (of course) but then told him I'd need about £100!! So tomorrow we're going into Belfast for some shopping. I need new jeans, but don't know if i should get ordinary ones and wear my recently purchased 'belly belt'. Going to head to Next cos Ive seen some lovely tops online. But right now I feel ill!! Have been out for a chinese with my friend - to tell her my news before it 'gets out' in my area - now i'm stuffed to burst!

DS is on a sleep over at his Nans. DH is out with a mate of his and is staying over too. So I have our kingsize bed all to myself! So goodnight! xx
