I've now officially fessed up about expecting #2 to the world. Written my first blog post announcing our news with my scan pictures... I've not posted since the MS hit badly in September. If anyone is still regularly reading my blog now I'll be very surprised... they'll have thought i'd dropped off the planet!

agooboo · 06/11/2008 22:20

Roll on the weekend...

Very jealous of all having scans, my 12 week scan hasn't come through yet they said it could be up to 16 weeks. oh well.

pulapula how nice to get wed in barbados. could do with being there right now... i think the ms might actually be bearable if i was laid on a beach in barbados.... (sits back and dreams of a holiday...) I can't believe the things mums get away with saying. And my problem is that I would never say anything back like "you offended/upset me then" cos its not worth the hassle it would create.

Sorry, rant over.

detsy · 06/11/2008 22:29

8st9lbs.... my those were the days. You must look gorgeous hun - ignore your silly mother - they're great at saying stupid things!!!

Congrats 1stMrsF fab news!!

Shattered off to bed but off to Devon next week - maybe I could catch up with you southern/devoners whilst there

Sleep well and good luck with tomo scans x

agooboo · 06/11/2008 22:30

Fi - glad you have fessed up. We still haven't. Our parents know but that's it. Keep thinking about doing it but I don't have the energy to. The ms knocked it out of me and that initial excitement of wanting to tell people bubble burst after all the puking. Some days I don't even feel pregnant just miserable and "porky" as my mother so nicely puts it.

Goodness! Can you tell I'm on a downer?! sorry ladies.

SpangleMaker · 06/11/2008 22:41

agooboo 8st9 is in absolutely NO WAY porky! I weigh well more than that and I'm only 5ft1. Unfortunately mums just say that sort of thing sometimes. Mine has come out with a few choice comments over the years, things like, 'You suit hats, people with plain faces often do' and 'well I'm glad you've got the confidence to wear that!' grr!! Best to just smile sweetly and ignore it. I am sure you look gorgeous!

Good luck to those with scans tomorrow.

FiKelly · 06/11/2008 22:42

agooboo I actually told quite a few people where I live early as the bump was quite visible from about 9wks... body been there and couldn't wait to let it all go again

You sound like you're just having one of those days, i suggest some comfort food of your choice (you've got nothing to worry about weight wise) and some TLC. Big squeezy hugs x

MrsEvs · 06/11/2008 23:29

Thanks for the reassurance all - I'm sure she won't even remember it tomorrow, but of course I still feel like the devil incarnate - I don't know what came over me. Nothing makes you feel as guilty as parenting!

agooboo that's so rude! Maybe she is just jealous that you are so svelte and gorgeous !

FiKelly · 06/11/2008 23:44

I'm going to be so tired tomorrow but can't stop watching crappy tv!

FiKelly · 07/11/2008 00:06

right i'm off to bed.. must be mad staying up! never usually up this late. night night x

MrsEvs · 07/11/2008 01:56

FiKelly you forgot I am in the US! It was only early for me

FiKelly · 07/11/2008 08:07

morning all

mrsevs you're right it's easy to forget this is the www! still doesn't make me any less crazy for staying up so late i was v lucky that ds didn't wake up till 7.30 this am.. it's normally 6 something..

FiKelly · 07/11/2008 12:30

with everyone off having scans today it's so quiet!

can't wait to hear all your news

pulapula · 07/11/2008 12:34

Well just back from scan. One baby and heart beating away- couldn't see much- but am having a nuchal next Thurs so should get a clearer look then. Due date now 25/5 which is my grandmas birthday (she is no longer with us), but will be having cs at 39 weeks. Consultant asked if I was planning more children (thought he was going to say something about risks of multiple cs but asked if i'd like to consider being sterilised at the same time as cs). I'll give it some thought but DH isn't sure its a good idea. Think he quite likes the thought of 4!

Moonlit · 07/11/2008 12:56

Hi everyone! Had my scan at 12.20pm. My little monkey was jumping around as if it was on a trampoline! Very active. Won't get Nuchal scores until next week in the post. I am just glad everything is ok with my little one.

pulapula - I am glad your scan went well too!

Moonlit · 07/11/2008 13:03

Oh and my due date is now 22/5/09

EmmalinaC · 07/11/2008 13:08

Congratulations on first scans pulapula and Moonlit! MrsEvs I am so glad you posted about having a short fuse. I seem to be in a really vile mood at the moment, all the time and have maybe been taking it out on DD and DH... The first thing DD said to me this morning was 'Mummy not very well again?' She's only 2. I felt terrible. I'm waiting for the 2nd trimester happy hormones to kick in!

On another subject, I was just wondering why I have never EVER had a 'craving' for anything remotely healthy? Even the sight of broccoli makes me nauseous - it's carbs and dairy all the way. Maybe I'm just greedy?

MrsEvs · 07/11/2008 13:10

Great news Moonlit and pulapula

At least you doc brought up the tube tying beforehand - my friend was having her 2nd by CS and in the middle of her surgery the doc goes "so, am I tying the tubes while I'm in here?" !!!! Not the finest timing!

bantam73 · 07/11/2008 13:39

Hi everyone

Good news about the scans- MOONLIT and PULAPULA.

I haven't been online cos I've been poorly.... Had a stomach bug and I managed to eat today for the first time since tuesday morning.

Can't believe I'm already 15 wks today, the last 5 wks have flown by. It seemed ages to get to 12wks now we are 15........... Now I've said that it will take ages to get to 20wks for the next scan

FiKelly · 07/11/2008 13:53

Congrats moonlit & pulapula on scans and moonlit here's hoping your results come through at the beginning of the week so you don't have long to wait.

pulapula i wonder if my consultant will suggest the same thing this time with having #2 pos by another CS? Haven't got the appointment through yet... just been referred by MW... don't think it will be long though.

Moonlit · 07/11/2008 13:55

Thanks EmmalinaC, MrsEvs and bantam73

Thanks for all the congrats. Hope sweetbroody's scan went ok too, and any others that were having scans today.

FiKelly- guess it might depend on your age too whether they will mention sterilisation. I'll be 37 when i have LO and 3 under 5s is probably enough in anyone's books!

Would normally have phoned my mum and given her the news by now, but it feels a bit 'wrong' atm with my sister having fertility problems. Plus as I've shown my mum isn't very tactful and so i don't want her to say anything insensitive to my sister.

MsG · 07/11/2008 15:07

Hi all - had my scan today and it was fine. We saw its heart beating and its arm moved! It wriggled around a bit. It was amazing. After my m/c last summer, we were so nervous so it was such a relief.

Due date is still 29th May!

xx

FiKelly · 07/11/2008 15:42

pulapula i'll be 39 the day after my due date so...hmmm will just see what the consultant says. Not sure if I want to get tubes done or not. Not planning more LO's after #2 but it's all so final

mrsg congrats and moving too what a bonus!

our LO was fast asleep in the scan and had to be gently persuaded a considerable few times to get into a better position for the consultant to do the nuchal measurement!

Momino · 07/11/2008 16:15

hi all.
Great news on the scans everyone.

i'm exactly 15 weeks today. Had a visit to the MW and heard baby's heartbeat. both dd's came with me and dd1 was so excited to hear the heartbeat. she told the mw she wanted a boy (a bit of pressure on me!).

really tired today but feeling less nauseous with each day passing. should we be 'blooming' yet?
