momino i'm now 12wks and 4 days and waiting on the blooming phase starting. Maybe we don't get it as early as the first timers due to looking haggard looking after our DC's & being pregnant again!?! well that's me anyway lol

Congrats MrsG and the same date as me . It's so sweet to see them wriggling round, amazing really makes it all seem so real!

That's so cute about you DD Momino I still haven't told my two yet (but am only 11 weeks today). Really don't know when to do it. We're going to Disney next week, so I'm thinking after that.

What did you tell them?? Really interested in how to put it!

I have 'updated' my due date(s)!! Originally 19th May, then changed at 8 week scan to 17th May. Than on Tuesday at my Nucal scan changed to 12th May, and then a day later my consultant changed it to 7th May!!!

I too can have a low patience thresh-hold when MS, pains etc are around. Poor DS - but he understands - mummy is the baby making you feel sick/grumpy/a pain in the ass!!! Oh - no that's what DH says!!

I was explaining to DS about how my tummy is going to grow and DS said 'you're going to get fat mummy' - no son, not fat just a big baby tummy -' no mummy youre going to get fat' - he sounded just like his father!! No matter how much I tried to explian to him - I;m not fat, it's baby!!

We've also told our 2yr 3mth son... a few weeks ago as he's been going through a phase of boisterously launching himself at top speed on me. We explained he had to be careful with mummy as she has another baby in her tummy. He just looked blank at us and carried on playing.

We took him to the scan on monday thinking it would help him understand but he wasn't remotely interested!

When asked the other day if he would like mummy to have a girl or a boy baby... after a moments thought he said 'a ball' lol!

If I'm 14 weeks gone (going by my due on 7th date!!) is it possible to feel one's offspring kicking ?? I think I have just felt it - right where I'm kinda sore...

Oh and as for my sore belly button, saw GP this morning and he said it's stretching pains. Also, I am allowed to take co-codamol for my very sore neck (prolapsed discs) - paracetamol just wasnt hacking it at all.

I told DH that I will be taking DS to the 20 week scan (31/12/08) and he thought I was mad! I told him other parents take theirs along - and he said 'Who?!' So - Poll please! Who will/has taken their ds/dd to a scan and what age were they? My DS wants to come to see the baby in it's egg!

divedaisy - We took DD today (shes 2.7)

They had a whole load of kids books in the waiting area. So it must be quite common. As my DD walked into the scanning room, she told the sonographer 'Mummy has baby in tummy'. When she saw the baby, she said 'Baby is in water'. Ahhhh I could have eaten her for being so cute.

The only problem was she wanted to 'sleep with mummy on the bed'

divedaisy my best friend here in weston is also pregnant and due in march 2009 she has had her 20wk scan and they took their son who was just 2yrs july this year.

We will be taking our DS to our 20wk scan which i expect to be towards the end of dec sometime and he'll be 2.5 by then. Hoping it will help him realise mummy is having a baby and not a ball.

Yes it is possible to feel your baby moving at 14 wks

I'm 15 wks and felt it move at about 10+ wks and at our scan I was told it was possible cos my placenta is right at the back.

It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it?

I can't wait til my dh and 3year old can feel it too.

I had my DD1 with me for a sort of emergency scan I had to have when pg with DD2 (had to be certified OK to fly transatlantic at just over 6 months because my Dad was very ill - nightmare, but whole different story!), and I have to say it was hell on wheels. She was only 18 months though and my DH wasn't there - they did a sono to check fluid levels and also had me hooked up to the monitors for 20 mins, so it wasn't like a normal scan, a bit frightening for her I think. She was hysterical and just wanted to lie with me, very stressful.

I'm sure now both of mine are older than that they would actually be very interested maybe I'll think about taking them to my 20 week one!

We took DD who is 2.4 to 12 week scan. She loved it - she asked if we could call it Nemo.

Now she is telling everyone who'll listen that there's a baby in mummy's tummy and yanking up my top 'to have a look'.

urgh.. i'm now paying for my late night last night. feeling extremely queezy have retreated to bed with phone to surf, watch telly & crochet some squares for the joint blanket some of us on Mumsnet & ravelry are making.

We took DD1 to our 12 and 20 wks scans when I was pg with DD2. She was just 5 at the time - and was incredibly excited. We hadn't told her why we were in the hospital, but when I was being scanned and it was apparent all was well (at the 12 wks one) she said 'What's that?" and we said 'That's your new baby brother or sister'. The look on her face was brilliant - and she remembers it to this day.
She is a bit huffy that she wasn't taken to the scan with this baby this time (but she was at school) but have promised to try to get an after-school scan time for the 20 wks scan so she can come too. She loves babies and is brilliant with them. She'll be just 8 when this one is born so am hoping she'll help! DD2 loves babies too , but at just 2yrs she is more of a hazard than a help. Her favorite trick at the moment is to rush up to her sleeping 4 month old cousin, give her a huge hug (by which I mean a head-lock!) and shout 'Wakey!'. Doesn't go down well
Oh its going to be fun.

Just been out for tea with DH, DD's and some friends. Ate a big pizza and some ice cream and now feel slightly sick. Yuck.

We told DD (3.10) tonight about the baby and she was really excited. She wanted to feel my tummy right away. She thinks its a boy. We've given her one of our scan photos (they were free- used to be £5 for 3) and said she call tell her friends she's going to have a baby brother or sister. Guess its still quite early (11.4) but if anything happens we will just have to think of a way to tell her...Just been reading up and looks like risk of mc is pretty low at this stage and will be 1 in 200 or 300 by 12-13 weeks. Just need to get through next week or so

By the way I can't believe i'm STILL only 13 wks pg. It feels like I've been pregnant for about 6 months already (and I look like it too!). My SIL just gave me a pair of size 12 Mamas and Papas maternity jeans - they are very comfy but far too big around the waist - for now......but have just put them on any way to accommodate the giant pizza and ice cream I just ate. So nice to be in roomy trousers for a change! My normal size 8's and 10's are going away this weekend - am fed up of feeling constricted (and therefore nauseous as a result). My third time pregnant stomach knows no bounds! Anyone else feel like this?
(And I'm not even going to mention my boobs which are attempting to escape from my bra as we speak!)

frazzle yes yes and yes! i went through my wardrobe last weekend and took out all my non maternity trousers and skirts.. they were making my nausea worse.. and at only 12wks

still feeling very green but at least i'm comfy in bed..

frazzled will be 12 weeks tomorrow and I have thought to myself today that I'll probably get another week out of my trousers then they will be put away for a few months! Starting to feel a bit restricted and uncomfy. I'm feeling very pleased though that my usual B cup boobs are at the larger end of a C Cup - they can get as big as they like! lol.

Don't think I am going to be able to hide it for much longer - was hoping to hold out til 16 weeks ish but i think people will guess by then.

Hello, it's me AGAIN!
I have yet another question......
I have 2 girls and have (so far) been hoping that this baby is another girl. But suddenly, this afternoon, I have been consumed with longing for a little boy!!! This is most unlike me, as I don't 'Do' boys and have never imagined myself with a blue one. What has happened to me? And is this my body's way of warning me that this one is a boy?
(or am I just being a weirdo?)
And if it is a boy, WHAT do I call it as I don't like ANY boy names!

my boobs are ridiculously huge! even dh is a bit stunned.. very happy.. but he can't believe how they've expanded.

oh and i should be entered into the guinness book of records for persistent burping!
