divedaisy · 23/11/2008 18:18

I've a deep pain on my right side deep down towards my groin. Got it when drinking a mug of tea!! Will see what happens.

I haven't felt any flutterings over the past few days... trying not to worry too much. Though I do feel a tight sensation (if that is the best way to describe it) Just wish I were a few weeks on when they happen regularly and with absolute contact, rather than feeling 'was that movement, or just me?' When I put my hand onwhere I think I feel my uterus all I can feel is my own pulse!! At least Iknow I'm alive HeHe!! I've my next mw appointment on 5th Dec.

agooboo · 23/11/2008 20:54

divedaisy how is the pain? Has it got any worse?

Emmalina - I'd give your midwife a call in the morning it's prob nothing (esp if it is old blood) to worry about but just to put your mind at rest. I had some spotting at 9 weeks ish and I had nothing with my other two pregnancies. The put me in for a scan and said there was no reason for it/nothing to worry about but defo put my mind at rest.

I have spent a lot of the afternoon legged on sofa with DS2 fast asleep on me and balancing laptop on a cushion reading that funny thread. I haven't laughed as much in ages!

FiKelly · 23/11/2008 20:56

Very excited for the 2nd night running I'm now sure what i'm feeling in my tummy is the little one moving about & i'm 15wks exactly tomorrow. Seems i have a eve/night party animal this time.... or i'm just being used as a bouncy castle!

daizydoo · 23/11/2008 22:11

llareggub - spoke to my mum today who's a midwife and she was shocked when I told her they wanted to take the baby away from you. She saw no reason for planning for it. Thought it sounded wrong when i saw your post, hope it all works out for you.

Hope everyone is feeling better tomorrow.

llareggub · 23/11/2008 22:55

daizydoo thanks for that. I feel the same way, and will be writing formally to the Head of Midwifery this week stating my position on the matter. I'll also be discussing it with my consultant when I see him again in two weeks.

If I don't get co-operation from the hospital, I'm going to see if I can change to one that is fairly near but in the next city. I had an awful experience in the first hospital last time anyway, so it won't worry me to change.

On a more positive note, I suspect I have been incorrectly diagnosed because having tested my blood sugar levels all weekend, I find that my blood sugar is well below the target levels and not cause for concern at all. So there is hope!

lilyjay09 · 24/11/2008 01:05

hi just found mumsnet am 14 weeks on weds due 13 may with dc3 would like to join but have not a clue how to put myself on list!?!

Due1stMay09 · 24/11/2008 09:05

Morning ladies! Hope you and bumps are all well?
I have had a really nice weekend, considering all the high bp thing on friday. Im hoping its just nerves of going to the doctors!
My fiance brought me a gorgeous black and pink maternity top with "Hands Off The Bump" with 2 hand prints on the tummy, gets everyone talking and have had lots of smiles from stangers lol!
Dont know about any of you but im still getting used to strangers coming up to me and stroking my bump saying "Aww when are you due?!" i dont mind it but i would love to shock someone and say.."Er..im not pregnant." lol but thats just mean!
We cant believe it - we started taking pictures of my bump at 13 weeks, we have done it every sunday since then (im 18 weeks today) and its got so much bigger, really makes me
We all went out for a family meal (chinese mmmm!) for my cousins 18th bday last night and everyone couldnt believe how big bump had got. My sister is so excited! lol
Baby has been making me and Pete laugh, its really been wriggling this weekend! It was so sweet yesterday, i was sat on the sofa and he came through the door and was talking and the baby really moved which made us both smile
Sorry this is such a long post, im rambling!!

Momino · 24/11/2008 09:24

a rant.
i'm sick of a few replies when people find out we're having No 3 - oh, we'd love to have another but we can't afford it/we don't have the finances, etc. making me feel like we have loads of money (would love it) and three are no problem (let alone two!).

admittedly, baby3 is an unplanned 'surprise' so we will have to struggle, like most, to afford it. but I know it will somehow work.

i just wish people would stop mentioning finances as an excuse not to have another. i think i resent it because I would love to have more cash like them and not go into overdraft each month. (nb but wouldn't give up the my DDs for the world).

anyway, hope all are well today.

divedaisy · 24/11/2008 10:12

Good Morning All.

We're getting close to needing to create a new thread - can you let me know what you think?? A few have liked the 'it's all in front of us now' title - concensus please? Will this do?

The pain in my side must have been wind and a bit of constipation - it's gone now and this morning I do believe I can feel Baby Bump doing the fandango again. Just wish I could feel a big thump then I'd be very

Had a lovely Chinese on Sat night. I could eat Chinese starters without the main - I've never dared to ask for a meal consisting only of starters - I wonder would they let me...?

When we were coming back from the Chinese on Sat night DH was in a seperate car, and he got me to swap over so he took the van and said he was going to his brothers for a bit. So I went home and plonked in front of the TV. About an hour or so later he arrived back... with my new mountain bike assembled as a surprise for me!! Oh it is so lovely. I'd've gone out on it this morning after school drop-off, but the tyres need pumped up. It's been years since I rode a bike... Oh I can't wait! And I'm gonna get one of those baby carriages to tow Baby Bump when he/she arrives.

Momino grrr at people making comments like that. I guess what you should do is smile sweetly and rise above it. But I have to admit I'd be tempted to make a comment back like, 'we don't have much money. But our priority is our family, and when you're as determined as we are, you just make it work'

Unbelievably we've had a few 'was it planned?' comments, either directly or indirectly. We're 37 & 40, good jobs (I'm a civil servant, so great mat benefits, very accommodating of flexible working), nice home (if a bit small), married 5 years... I would have thought people were expecting it. I suppose we must have made a good show of enjoying the no-kids lifestyle!

Saw my Dad yesterday, he gave us a cheque to cover cost of a pushchair - wahey!

Momino · 24/11/2008 10:28

thanks Spangle. guess people don't realise how their comments may sound.

about parents - thank god for them! lucky on the pushchair. my inlaws are coming round tomorrow to babysit so I can work; saves us nursery charges when they can do it (and me working into the night). they also bought the latest car seat and am sure they'll help with baby3; so generous are grandparents!

Jael · 24/11/2008 10:37

Morning ladies.
Busy weekend for me, which is why I haven't been on. Christmas shopping mainly. Almost finished now, just got to go shopping for pretty little bags to put everyone's prezzies into now.
Let us know what the midwife says Emma spotting at any time is scary.

My SPD pains were very bad last night, I had to take pain relief as I was almost in tears, and DP had to put my Microwave beanie thing in the microwave too. I had shooting pains in my very lower back. I can't wait to see this consultant. Do these girdle/support things work? and can I buy one before I see the consultant, and I've gotta wait almost another two weeks!

Jael X

SpangleMaker · 24/11/2008 10:40

momino I think you're right, people often make comments based on their own situation and, quite understandably sometimes, don't necessarily know how it could be interpreted. Especially anything to do with parenting as it's such a sensitive subject.

divedaisy I like 'it's all in front of us now' - good title.

Just worked out I've got 2 weeks 3 days until my next scan

pulapula · 24/11/2008 12:49

Spanglemaker- I'm a civil servant too- do you work for central govt? I work for BERR, and agree the mat benefits are great- 6 months full pay, then SMP and full leave entitlement.

I was surprised to get the "was it planned" comments too- haven't had this before- i think that people assume if you have 2 kids, especially boy and girl then you have no need to have any more! I also think its because I'm not the most maternal person, and take my career seriously too!

divedaisy · 24/11/2008 13:36

Jael, I was fitted for my belt by a physio, but if you can't wait there are plenty on the market to choose from. They fit around your hips and fasten below your bump - they need to be tight to hold you together.

www.babyexpert.com/chatroom/topic/26298 - asks do they rweally work

Hope these sites help. It is probably best to be fitted properly, but I know how the pain feels and it is too hard to wait...

Hi all, not really caught up with all the posts yet - hope everyone is ok. I'm really struggling to sleep for more than about 4 hours at a time - most nights I'm awake every few hours and just feel tired all of the time. Does this ease off?!

Also, I noticed a bit of a pain at the top of my leg the last few days - almost like a mild cramp. Anyone know if that's normal?

xx

SweetBROODY · 24/11/2008 15:08

Hello ladies... wow its taken me all day to catch up - but then I have been gone for quite some time. My dad had another heart attack and I went into A & E with bleeding. That was an interesting experience. I am ok though and the scan has put us at 13+3.

Baby looked well and the scan and showed us its little bum! Its amazing to hear everyones concerns and worrys and nod along - I've been having strange sickness bought on if I try to eat cooked food cold... :S baby seems to only like food when its hot! have also gone off my all time fav PIZZA feel grumpy really because I am not feeling very hungry and just worrried about dad

SweetBROODY · 24/11/2008 15:11

llareggub I was reading about your GD its ok you know.. I got diagnosed with full blown type 2 diabetes in my last pregnancy - where I miscarried. Touch wood things seem ok in this one although I have been on injections to keep me under control.

I have been able to maintain a pretty good control so do give me a shout if you need any help with controlling it. There is alos a GD thread on Mumsnet worth taking a look at. Lots of ideas for foods etc.

MsG · 24/11/2008 15:24

Hi SweetBroody, sorry to hear about your dad - must be really awful and then your bleeding too - I'm glad that you're ok.

I'm 13+3 today too! We're due on the same day aren't we? I wonder how many of us will actually give birth on our EDD?

Hope your dad's ok and you can relax a bit now you've had the scan. x

divedaisy · 24/11/2008 15:37

SweetBROODY - glad you're ok after the bleeding. Hope your dad is ok too.

MsG - why are you finding it so hard to sleep?? Normally it's because you need to pee so often - and that really disrupts your sleep pattern - and it does settle. You are around 13 weeks and it should settle soon, however if you are wakening for other reasons (eg worry, stress etc) you should realy speak to your GP or MW. Also, during pregnancy the hormone relaxant is released and this can cause aches and pains. In the sever form a condition called SPD (Symphsis Pubis Dysfunction) can occur and this causes extreme pain in your pubic bone area, lower back and can radiate into your legs also. Or it may be due to the fact that you need more salt in your diet. When pregnant your body's fluids increase and can result in the concentration of sodium becoming diluted, thus resulting in cramps. That's why so many of us on this thread appear to have had a need for Salt & Vinegar crisps!!! You may need to add a touch more salt when you're cooking. If it continues or gets worse, or are generally concerned speak to your GP or MW - get it examined and a proper diagnosis made.

Afternoon ladies.

I need some advice...

I've been having really bad tearing pains down one side, from my abdomen and down my leg on the left side for the last 2 hours, hurts more when I move about.

Does this sound like round ligament thingy?

I'm 17+1 today and felt baby move for the first time last night.
