had my first scan today :0 everything is fine and have now been giving due date of 31st may (im glad coz didnt wanna have to leave this thread) we took DS with us who is 3yrs 5mths dont quite know what he made of it he was just disappointed there was only one in there!!! cant wait for 20wk scan now dont know when it will be yet.

not finding clothes tight yet or boobs much bigger but im only 10wks+5 now thought i was more than that. prob due to weight loss to though.

hope all mums and babies are doing well, so happy i can actually start to enjoy being pregnant now :0

flippineck · 07/11/2008 21:07

Another question for you ladies - anyone getting nosebleeds? I had them quite often when I was pregnant with DD, but I'm sure they started much later than this; I had two last week. They aren't huge but very sudden and quite heavy for a couple of minutes and then stop. It's really annoying.

flippineck · 07/11/2008 21:09

Doh, am rubbish. Also meant to say congratulations on all the good scans!

FiKelly · 07/11/2008 21:14

matthewandbumpsmummy yay you're feeling better & great news the scan was good too.

FiKelly · 07/11/2008 21:21

flippeneck no nosebleeds unless i get a really bad runny nose and have to keep blowing it.. and blowing it some more.. then there's a chance.

EmmalinaC · 07/11/2008 21:46

Talking of runny noses can anyone suggest any pregnancy-friendly cold remedies? I am so bunged up!

Think I might just go to bed with OK and a cup of tea...

FiKelly · 07/11/2008 22:07

eucalyptus oil on a tissue helps for me..

SpangleMaker · 07/11/2008 23:50

Aargh, fell asleep on the sofa watching Little Britain, woke up at 11pm and now wide awake!

Congrats on another batch of good scans! I'm wondering about SweetBroody too, hope she is ok.

Not had any nosebleeds but had the odd episode of gum bleeding so am being extra careful about dental hygiene. Isn't there an old wives' tale about losing a tooth for every child? don't fancy that much.

Burping - yes! and farting Luckily DH sees the funny side.

I'm definitely thickening out at the waist now (nearly 15 wks). Am pretty much in maternity skirts/trousers full time now. Better tell the in-laws soon before my belly tells them for itself!

Better go to bed & try to go back to sleep. Night all x

Jennster · 08/11/2008 05:42

EmmalinaC steam inhalation will help loads with the congestion, and if you can get a saline nasal spray (Sterimar about £6 but last a while) that will help too.

Pula I'm due the day after my late Grandma's birthday, so determined to make no3 a day early. Dd was a day early and ds a day late so there is a chance.

Spangle, I fell asleep at 10 in front of the TV. I woke at 11.30, got back to sleep and then woke at 3.50 with dh still asleep in front of the TV. I thought he was coming to bed with me. I've been awake ever since, and am baking some English Muffins for breakfast.

CoteDAzur · 08/11/2008 06:39

Emma - I go to sleep with some Vicks balm under my nose. It helps me breathe through the night. It's tough having a cold when pregnant!

Pauline78 · 08/11/2008 08:14

Hey folks,

well after much trying, my hubby and I are expecting our first baby in May 2009.

dont get me wrong, Im thrilled and we're both very excited....

just that Im a bit scared of ending up isolated. Alot of my friends live about 80 miles away....or dont have children or arent interested in children. Im a bit worried that Im going to drop of the radar.

Anybody from Fife about?

P x

EmmalinaC · 08/11/2008 08:21

Congrats Pauline78

Thanks for the cold tips - will try and find some Sterimar today. Put some Olbas oil on thepillow last night which really helped but DD has a cold too so kept waking us. VERY tired today!

Momino · 08/11/2008 11:10

frazzled, reponse to your earlier post about a boy. we have two girls as well and I'm secretly hoping for a boy. but my feelings are that it's another girl.

as for signs, in 1st pregnancy, i bought a pink cardigan for myself without thinking - and i hate pink . it was then that i suspected i was having a girl.

Momino · 08/11/2008 11:21

welcome Pauline78.

thanks for everyone's cold tips. am going to use them as we all have colds in our house too. lots of runny noses!

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 12:02

Hello & welcome to pauline78 waves

I just fished out the pregnancy book i bought while pregnant with DS and it says us pregnant ladies can sometimes suffer from nasal congestion for the whole 9 months... due to pregnancy hormones and not colds! Arrrgh. She recommends the same stuff as everyone is already doing

Momino · 08/11/2008 13:51

flippineck - meant to say, i only get nosebleeds in pregnancy, mainly when i blow my nose and in morning. i think it is common in pregnancy, something with the bloodflow, softening of tissues, etc.

Momino · 08/11/2008 16:11

not many on here today .
dh took dd's out of the house so i can get some work done but i haven't done much at all and feel like i'm wasting time.

may be pregnancy hormones but i just feel like crying. so am afraid pnd is just not going away and will stay for this time as well. please someone tell me it's just the hormones...

anyone else feeling low?

well, i'll try to be positive and say at least my ms is all but gone, thank goodness.

Hope everyone is having a fun day.

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 16:45

momino i'm sure it's hormones as i've been feeling absolutely vile both yesterday and all today. been feeling very nauseous, low, washed out and tired. yuk!

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 16:50

in an effort to cheer myself up i've taken some butter out of the fridge to make some cake when ds has gone to bed

Febes · 08/11/2008 17:18

I've been very hormonal all day and had a massive tantrum before so am feeling a little embarrassed now. Our lovely neighbours have been clearing out their loft and gave us some toys for DD so that has cheered me up. DH is now making pancakes yum

1stMrsF · 08/11/2008 17:49

Just a quick note tonight as we are flying to Cyprus tomorrow for 6 days on holiday. Bit nervous about flying, particularly at 08.55 - hoped morning sickness might have gone by now, but have my seabands and plan to arrive at the airport in time to eat some breakfast before getting on the plane which should help.

We are visiting some friends who retired out there a couple of years ago, so we are really looking forward to seeing them. They couldn't come to our wedding in June and they have no idea about our current news so there will be lots to talk about!

I hope that there is plenty more good news about scans etc. while I am away. Take care of yourself everyone, speak to you soon

Rubysmom08 · 08/11/2008 19:23

I suffered from nosebleeds from about 12 weeks last time, never ever get them usually!

Getting really pissed off with the fireworks, My poor dd is petrified of them and she's had to endure 2 weekends of them as well as during the week, I was so annoyed last night when they were still going off at 11pm, wankers!

Rant over- hormonal anyone!! , watched the Hero song video by Xfactor people which was on earlier, firstly it was our wedding song, because my dh is my hero, he helped me with my dad who was an alcholic who eventually died a couple of years ago, very sad and the video wasof soldiers with their children and I was sitting with beautiful family feeling very proud couldn't stop crying and crying, dh does find it very sweet when I cry about silly things.

Earlier today though had a proper mood and went back to bed! Dh mother drives me demented and she was up to her usual tricks, but thats a whole other thread!

Still very queasy, made dd a shephered pie and had to go outside for a bit as the smell of mince oh god I can't even think of it.

For all the first time moms you have to get 'My best friends guide to pregnancy' it was my bible, it calmed me down so much well worth the money think I got my from amazon.

Enjoy Xfactor today, going to watch Xtra Factor to see if I can see Holly's baby tum xx

FiKelly · 08/11/2008 19:24
