Just so long as I'm home in time to watch Strictly, X Factor, Casualty and I'm a Celeb...

The shop did become more busy this afternoon. Bustling with skateboarders! Fab! Great wee lads. Gonna get my DS into BMX and boarding... he's getting a BMX from Santa and a skateboard when he turns 6. And the full works with protective gear - he'll look like an armadillo when I'm finished gearing him up!!!!

ds went to his first birthday party this afternoon, which was cute, although he didn't really understand what was going on!!
Since I got home I've been reading this thread. It's hysterical, I have been crying with laughter! I think DH thought I'd gone mad!!

agooboo · 22/11/2008 19:21

daisydoo that IS a funny thread. It's taking me ages to read it...

SpangleMaker · 22/11/2008 19:45

daizydoo so funny.. been reading them out to DH.

Just been in complete hysterics actually, remembering a non-work related thing DH did by accident. We'd only been together a year or so and had not long come back from a holiday with my Dad in Italy. DH, wanting to be the good prospective son-in-law, decided to text my Dad to thank him for a great holiday, to which my Dad replied he'd enjoyed our company etc. Later that evening we were sitting in a pub and, after a good few drinks, started a flirty text conversation with each other for a laugh. Well you can guess what happened, DH hit 'reply' to the wrong text.... he sent to my Dad, 'I want to lick ice cream off your legs'

Cue me hastily ringing my Dad (still in Italy, at 12.30am with the time difference) imploring him to delete the text immediately. Was mortified at the time but can laugh about it now

divedaisy · 22/11/2008 20:24

LOL 'mines a ginger muffin' - very very funny thread daizydoo!!! Didn't spend too much time reading it, but that had me pml!!!

Oh fisty cuffs on X Factor!! Oh er! Louis put your handbag away... you're embarrassing yourself...again!!!

Anyway over to Casulty.. see y'al later.

Oh I've jsut bought the Spiderwick Chronicals (book version not DVD) on amazon for a 7 year old - is this suitable? I envisage his mum reading them to him.

Outnumbered - brilliant

Hiya

Visiting my parents in Wales this weekend - is anyone near Newport in South Wales? Because I went to the Jojo Maman Bebe sale shop and got 5 skirts for £24!!! (in fact, for nothing as my Dad bought them for me, but still a bargain). Such a bargain that 2 of those were the same one in 2 subsequent sizes so that it will last a bit longer LOL!

My family have spent the weekend telling me how 'fat' I'm getting - thanks a lot - I've got two babies in here!

Love the thread titles, but especially 'its all in front of us now', trying on maternity clothes has made it all a bit more real...

llareggub · 22/11/2008 22:09

Where is the sale shop? Is it far from the M4? I'm nowhere near Newport but regularly make the trip down the M4 to south Wales. Would be great to snap up some bargains.

1stMrsF · 22/11/2008 22:43

No, not too far. I'm not sure exactly as didn't go via M4 to get there, but the shop is slightly out of town and has it's own parking etc. so it's not like you're having to negotiate traffic and find somewhere to leave the car. Here are the details: www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/newport.php

SpangleMaker · 22/11/2008 22:58

Newport shop sounds great -pity I'm nowhere near!

So was I the only nerdy one watching the Eddison & Einstein thing? Purely because of my interest in science, nothing to do with David Tennant looking adorable in tweed suit & spectacles

Jennster · 23/11/2008 07:29

I wasted time that I can't recover watching some of XFactor. OMG I just don't get it. They were all a bit rubbish, and then Same Difference came back Were they taking the mick? I won't be repeating the experience.

I forgot to sky plus the Einstein programme, will have to watch it online.

yawningmonster · 23/11/2008 07:55

Hi all,
just popping in to say hello. am having trouble coping at the mo as dh has been away 13 days and 2 more to go and just learned he will be away again next weekend as well. Not really managing the exhaustion with ds very well am starting to be very vomitty in the evenings again as am so done in. anyone found anything that helps the exhaustion at all.
some good thread titles btw.

Jennster · 23/11/2008 08:27

Yuk just been sick.

yawningmonster · 23/11/2008 08:29

sorry jennster hope my talk of vomitting didn't spark yours off.

Jennster · 23/11/2008 08:32

No no don't worry. A case of drinking tea without eating food did it for me. Not morning or any other sort of sickness.

FiKelly · 23/11/2008 13:59

I'm still feeling like bunged up with streaming nose, sore throat & head and ache all over. ds is much better than me but very whingey still. building tents and dens in lounge again.. he wants help.. then 2seconds later he's having a paddy and wanting to do it himself.. then 2seconds later changing his mind again! arrrgh i've not enough energy to cope well with this today! dh has gone to get us some nice munchies as ds and i are off eating

Momino · 23/11/2008 15:49

i'm sorry you're not feeling well, a few of you.

when i had the vomits, could only sip cold tea and lay on the sofa.

does anyone else feel very, very short-tempered? i cannot keep my patience with dd's and dh and dog. i feel like being alone which is obviously impossible. and then I feel guilty. i'd love to blame it on pregnancy hormones again, but then i blame everything on that!

EmmalinaC · 23/11/2008 15:51

Sorry to hear some of you are still vomit-y and flu-y. I'm still all bunged up but as I have been for nearly two weeks now I'm starting to think maybe it's just a normal state of pregnancy.

Rather scarily, I had some brown-ish spotting this morning - sorry for giving details but wondered if anyone else had experience of this? Didn't get it last time and am trying not to panic. Am 16+5.

Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend?

FiKelly · 23/11/2008 16:10

emma don't panic it can happen my cousin had light periods through each pregnancy.. every month.

but if it gets heavier get it checked out quick esp if it then gets pink/red.

Febes · 23/11/2008 17:05

Hi all DD and I also feeling a bit under the weather so have sat doing nothing all day and hope we both feel better tomorrow.
It was DD 1st birthday yesterday and we had a great day we went to the farm with our antenatal group and out for lunch and then came home for cake.

cece · 23/11/2008 17:08

emma, I am sorry to read you have some bleeding. I think it might be wise to get it checked out. Try phoning up and speak to a mw now and see what they say.

runningmonkey · 23/11/2008 17:59

hi all,
Not been on for a few days, been feeling rubbish. Got a full blown cold and sore throat today which is really annoying. Have decided to stay home tomorrow to make sure I am totally better before going to work.

Has everyone seen the gap 30% off voucher? I'll try to find a link to it. Bought 2 really nice mat dresses and a lush cosy cardie from there yesterday for £80. Will try to find a link to the voucher. They've got some really nice mat jeans and cords but too long for me!

runningmonkey · 23/11/2008 18:01
