Diege · 30/10/2008 17:18

Thanks for new thread WILSON!! I hadn't realsied we were nearly full!
Will probably be off for the night now as this is my worst time sickness wise. Midwife has rung to arrange booking in, and we've postponed it until after next week's scan at my request. Getting a bit nervous about it now if I'm honest!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 30/10/2008 17:51

Diege - completely understand your nerves. I had my booking in before early scan and I felt like apologizing for being there as thought I'd be wasting her time!

Wilson - thanks for new thread

I'm now on train home. Had a fab day and managed to squeeze a lot in.

Really starting to believe that I'm feel pg now. Bump starting to appear (although I just look fat) and regular indigestion. But I guess I'm starting to get excited

lardybump · 30/10/2008 18:12

evening all hope you are well.

Went to see HSM3 today for my nieces birthday and baby was doing lots of dancing in there.... It was really funny as you could see it....

have got a few days of work now so am going to be trying to get the house straight a bit....

lardybump · 30/10/2008 18:14

Off work

GruffaloSoldier · 30/10/2008 18:15

Hey all

16 WEEKS TODAY

Kay that is appalling how you were treated today - I am so glad that you gave them what for! They deserved it!

Ses - I have a prima baby subscription - I love it plus you get really good freebie if you sign up. Subscription was £25 but got £25 worth of ELC toys which are fab! I think they are giving away a Gro bag sleeping bag at the moment if you subscribe. However, I do also have about 8 pregnancy books and various other mags

Glad you had a fab day - only a week til I go to Yorkshire for my little weekend break - I have never been to York either so Im hoping to go and do some xmas shopping!

Tink - MIL has offered to buy baby record book for us. I asked if I could have the Annabel Karmel one - I think it looks so lovely!

Hello everyone else.

I have to go and get ready now as we are going to a friends house for dinner.

Have a lovely evening everyone!

kayzisexpecting · 31/10/2008 06:55

Morning!!

DS got up early again!!! If he gets up early tomorrow I'm making DH get up while I have a lie in.

6 WEEKS TO GO!!!!!!! ARGH!!!! The rest of our stuff was brought here from the flat yesterday and it all went in the nursery so I am going to have to really get on and sort it out. Luckily my friend is coming over today to give me a hand.

I got some really groovy yellow nail varnish yesterday, DH thinks its really strange but I like it.

Hope you are all ok.

wilsonmummy · 31/10/2008 07:02

morning Kay!

I been up since 6am to, pants isn't it!!
I'm sure you'll get your nursery cleared out in no time!!

I'd like to just be in my new house, hopefully by end of nov should be there

Eeryone have a lovely day!!

OP posts:
kayzisexpecting · 31/10/2008 07:10

The nursery at the minute has 2 bright red walls and 2 cream ones. We want to keep the red walls and paint the 2 cream ones light blue.
Do you think thats going to be ok?

I know babies are meant to respond to bright colours before they respond to pale colours.

wilsonmummy · 31/10/2008 07:36

I think that'll look fine, i love bright rooms, i always look thru vertbudet or ikea mags for my inspirationm they tend to use a lot of bright colours!

OP posts:
kayzisexpecting · 31/10/2008 07:41

Yeah I do too. I'd like him to have a bright room that isn't blue. Plus DS's room is going to be blue and I don't really want 2 blue rooms. MIL has said that we can't leave it red but it's our house.

wilsonmummy · 31/10/2008 07:50

Totally agree with you, tis your house and if someone told me i can't leave or do what i want to one of my rooms i'd be tempted to next time i'm at their house comment on the state of the wallpaper or something along them lines, just to see how they like it!! Any any mil's always try and interfer, me and mil had a massive bust up after we got engaged, saying that i'd changed and that i was possesive and was trying to split family up(and if you knew me, i am the total opposite of all these, i actually try to get my dh to go out but he's never bothered!!)
Anyway she screamed these down the phone at me, and my dh bless him, went mad at her told her that he loves me and no matter what she says or thinks of me it ain't gonna change!! They fell out for a couple of weeks but funnily enough 7 years down the line, she's actually like a mother to me!!

Morning All
Lovely new thread Wilson!

I thought the thread had been suspiciously quiet this morning then I spotted that it was full! Glad I found you all

Sorry to hear of your bad bus ride Kay- somepeople are dreadfully inconsiderate.

Had a situation like that yesterday but turn ed out much better than yours Kay.. I was a on a very crowded train last night (loads of cancellations so each train was packed to overcapacity). I went and stood in a clear spot near some families with small children, each on their own seats. Im all for kids being safe and sat down rather than standing but I was kind of hoping that the dad would put the 4yr old girl on his knee so i could have the seat but he just kept staring at my bump instead! Eventually another extremely kind lady gave me her seat - i said no, but she insisted, said she'd been pregnant and knew what it was like. She told me I should ask or I'd never get a seat. Not sure I'd be able to do that!

Nearly the weekend whoohoo

How is everyone today?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 31/10/2008 08:06

Morning

Thanks for new thread Wilson Glad your MW got in touch so quickly, it is good to get it all official

Kay for you over yesterday's bus incident, it always seems to happen to you, can't say I get shown bucket loads of kindness (though to be fair with my coat on and the buggy in front of me, I think you'd be hard pushed to see that I'm pregnant!) but I have rarely come across the same sort of people you seem to meet on a weekly basis Red and blue room sounds really good, DS1 and 2's room is dark red and light blue, sounds awful to describe it, but it looks really good And as for MIL, ignore ignore ignore, she seems to get off on causing scenes, I'd be inclined to never ever rise to it, she is only showing herself up then.

Ses, I told you, you're going to have a baby!! Believe it all you want sweetie

Diege, hope today is a good day sickness wise (not sure what to hope for anymore, maybe enough nausea to make you relax in the knowledge you feel sick, but not enough to bring you down?!)

Gruff, did dinner go well?

I got my new phone yesterday, it's a Samsung touch screen one, now normally I am not bothered at all about when it's time to upgrade, but OMG, I think I could happily shag this phone for the rest of my life!! LOL I am impressed!

T'is payday today, sooooooo, yep back into town, seemed to have spent more time in town this week than at home. The boys have a Hallowe'en disco tonight, so am using it partly to fill up the time for them. Remember the "When's it 3 o'clock?" question? Today's is "When's it 6 o'clock?" and incase you haven't woken up properly yet, 6 o'clock is 3 hours later than 3 o'clock, which means I have 3 extra hours of it today........ ...........

How is everyone else? You've all been quiet!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 31/10/2008 08:08

Morning GYo What a kind lady (See Kay, there is hope yet!!) I am with you, would never have the balls to ask!

kayzisexpecting · 31/10/2008 08:12

I know I should ignore MIL. I must learn to not get het up about it. She had a go at DH the other day because my gp signed me off so we don't need her to look after DS. So she was slagging me off down the phone. So my idea of saying she could take him out and stuff went out of the window.

Whenever we argue it is always about her, it does my head in. DH sees a counseller about his temper and she says it is all down to his childhood and how his mum treats him.

ARGH Bloody woman annoys me just by thinking about her.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 31/10/2008 08:14

I don't know what it is about boys men and their mum's, if you had a mother like that I have no doubt contact would have been cut or reigned right in years ago.

My DH and his mum are the same, my sister's DH and his mum are the same.

...Our poor baby boys!!

kayzisexpecting · 31/10/2008 08:19

Yeah what will we be like in 20 odd years? Awful old hags!!!

NO!!!!

I am determined to be a nice MIL no matter what!!

GYo · 31/10/2008 08:25

morning Nat

Your MIL sounds like hard work Kay-

my ex MIL was like that but we dont speak to my DH's parents (verrrrrrrrry long story) so Im fortunate enough not to have that but I understand the pain

Freezing again today. The cats just come in with really cold fur!

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 31/10/2008 08:31

Morning

NJ -

Was too tired to post much last night after all my travelling but must tell you bizarre coincidence of the day...
I bought my friends' dd a game for her birthday based on the story "The very hungry caterpillar". I took it up with me and we played it in the afternoon. I said i was concerned their dd wouldnt know the story and i nearly bought her the book too. My friends exchanged knowing glances between eachother and said "We love the book and think every child should have one. So much so that we bought your little one a copy of the book yesterday! We weren't going to give it to you yet but you must take it with you now!"
Hey presto a copy of the book appeared!
They also gave me a very cute and soft cuddly Roo for a newborn!
What a coincidence about the book and the game though!

Kay - I'd be tempted to paint the whole room red after what your mil said!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

tinkisbigandinneedofzzzzzzzzz · 31/10/2008 09:15

right ladies

how do i warm and make up bottles know that guidelines have changed

kayzisexpecting · 31/10/2008 09:34

Ses, also as a gooner I really can't bring myself to paint over the red!!!

Tink, what we did with DS's bottles is:

Obviously sterilised them, then boiled the kettle and then when it cooled down, we filled the bottles to the amount we needed. Then you have to keep them in the fridge.
When you need a bottle you get it out of the fridge, add the amount of scoops needed, shook it all together and then put the bottle in a jug and filled the jug with boiling water and left it until it was the right temperture.

I really hope it makes sense.

I've just cleaned the whole kitchen. I feel very strange as I said this morning I was going to leave the washing up until this afternoon as I have no rubber gloves. I get reactive dermitus(sp) when I use washing up liquid. But I just couldn't help myself. Oooh Maybe I'm nesting.

Heebeejeebee · 31/10/2008 09:40

Morning all - lovely new thread! Just dropping in quickly.

GYO - were you at Waterloo last night? I had to push my way onto a train that was going to Clapham Junction and pick up another train home from there. I felt so tired and sick and was standing next to 3 drunk people who thought everything was HILARIOUS..

Ses - spooky re the VHC!

Kay - that's disgusting - I'm glad you said something. The nursery colours sound good.

The MIL situations sound painful. I'm very fortunate in that I get on with my MIL and she's a fantastic cook and always sends us home with curries/chutneys etc!

GYo · 31/10/2008 10:14

Hi Heebee- yes it was waterloo! it was awful wasnt it! Nearly got pushed over on the concourse.

I managed to get on a train but it went to another station, so my DH kindly came to get me.

Whereabouts in surrey are you? Meant to ask before you mentioned it...
