Good luck Smiley - I hope you have good news for us soon.

Well, it was my brother's wedding yesterday and it was lovely. I felt fine - had a really nice day but was really tired by 8pm, so came home early.

Have woken up this morning to lots of cramping and the sudden urge to bake cakes!

smileycat · 06/09/2009 18:39

She is here

born today at 1418 in the water, all went well I was 3cm at 9am this morning and had quite a lot of blood loss, so the midwife came over and checked me out, she stayed with me for an hour and by 11am I was contracting every 3 mins and quite strong so we went off to hospital and it all built up from there. I had a water birth and just gas and air so I'm really happy about that. Had a small tear just of the outside and not through the muscle so she is happy to let it heal itself, we had to stay in hospital for 3 hours while they did the paper work and her tests but then let us go home..she was 7lb 13.5 by the way so nearly 8lb..so happy to be home and have my little girl to cuddle up to tonight xx

Pezzina · 06/09/2009 19:18

WEYHEY SMILEY HUGE congratulations!! Well done and wow to the easy birth and home by bedtime, very impressive! Names??

smileycat · 07/09/2009 15:34

Thankyou ladies, we had a hard night last night she slept every two hrs until midnight, was then restless and then wanted to feed continuously from 4 until I got up at 7. She has just had a good 2 and a half hr nap and I slept for all of it as well and feel so much better. DH has taken her out for her first walk in the pram and given me time to update some pictures for friends on the internet, so I have put some of her in my profile for you to have a look at. We are calling her Katie Tamzin

Joolsiam · 07/09/2009 15:45

Many congratulations Smileycat - love the photos

Pezzina · 07/09/2009 18:39

Lovely photos, Smileycat - Katie is gorgeous!

I'm still getting twinges, but nothing more just yet. Just having to wait (im)patiently for something to happen.... ho hum.....

spats · 07/09/2009 19:12

Well done smiley so happy for you. Lovely name also. Glad you got some rest when she did, so many of us think we have to rush around clenaing or cooking when baby is asleep, i am going to not do that this time. Pezz, twinges may mean its on its way - horray.
I have a suddern burst of energy and no need for afernoon naps so hoping this may be a good sign. DS#2 is settled into sdchool which was my main concern so we all await the arrival of the little man. x

funtimewincies · 07/09/2009 19:39

Congratulations Smiley - lovely to hear that another grapefruit baby has arrived !

Heebychick · 07/09/2009 21:37

Smileycat She is gorgeous! I do love the name, goush you must be both proud.

Heeby it won't be the end ... as we will start another post for the others that will graduate soon. Hopefully all of you will still join us from time to time

C1NDY · 08/09/2009 13:00

Pezzina have you baked anything?

Pezzina · 08/09/2009 17:36

I've baked some bread and two lots of carrot cake.

I am just about to make some spicy curry for dinner tonight to go along with red wine and you know what!

C1NDY · 09/09/2009 08:53

Pezzina Oh, yummy freashly baked bread my favourite! How did it go last night!

I am so tired ever evening I just go to bed once I put my DD to bed. I have been having dreams on how I will cope with a second one!

I am thinking of having my placenta saved with this baby just in case we need it for stem cells. The science on this is getting stronger every year and am checking prices etc... I know my DH will not agree but I am getting a bonus and I am sure it will cover the expense so won't need his contribution... I think its around 1000 pounds for storage of upto 25 years. Anyone thought of this, or have had it done?

wasabipeanut · 09/09/2009 16:29

Sorry I've not checked in for a while guys. Felt really rough for weeks on end and then had sudden onrush of work, illness and then major sleep issues for DS (and subsequently us too!) and just general craziness. I had a bit of a downer towards the end of August as this is when my little lost one would have been due so I sort of went into myself a bit. It probably isn't the best way of dealing with things but I can't break the habit of a lifetime.

However, I wanted to say a huge CONGRATULATIONS! to Smiley. Little Katie is scrumptious and its just the sweetest name. I remember very clearly you getting your BFP and it doesn't seem so long ago. I am very, very happy for you indeed. I'm also very happy you got the birth that you wanted.

Pezzina You must be going potty with all this waiting. I hope that today has been your day and that we have news soon! I am sending you lots of birthy vibes.

Spats I hope the final few weeks are being as kind as they can be. Glad your DS has settled into school and that all is well for the waiting!

C1ndy Great news on your scan. I worry about how I will cope with two as well - its like we have some hardwired need to worry about something isn't it? What is your due date?

Funtime How are you getting on? Not seen you around for a while!

So, I am 19 and a bit weeks and have been feeling my little peanut kicking around for several weeks now. I wasn't expecting to feel movement so early but am so happy that I can as it does put the mind at rest slightly. I can't help feeling that I am having a girl as this pregnancy has been very different to the one I had with my DS. I'm still being sick for one thing - nice. Have kind of resigned myself to the fact that I will have to put up with that for the next 21 or so weeks. It isn't too bad - just a quick heave most mornings.

So all is well, mind you, I have my anomoly scan next week so am worrying about that now.

C1NDY · 10/09/2009 09:00

Wasabi Hi there, goush its so good to speak to you!... 19 weeks, goush the time has flown. My due date is the 14 April, so am thinking only 14 weeks till Christmas, and then I just need to get through January which is always a gloomy month - so may take a holiday? I am trying not to think so ahead but can't help it Will be thankful when the 12 week scan is out of the way. Keep thinking about my age and all the horrors that can go wrong... but I must try and stay focussed!

My nauseau comes and goes and is not like when I had my DD ... I was sick all afternoon and evening. My MS comes on in tiny waves so I am thankful that it is not constant. I am very tired though and boobs have grown - they were huge before!! I am already wearing maternity trousers.

Good luck for the scan next week, I am sure it will be fine.

Take care of yourself

Cindy
