[yawn, scratch, gnn] Morning all, will catch up properly in a bit but first must have coffee and lie in wait for the bloody postman.

Why is coffee not self-brewing? Errrrgh.

Great news on the temp Pinkali and enjoy your weekend break

I can recommend few places for lunch in Leeds if you need any inspiration. And am very of your dinner at the Star Inn; I have heard great reviews of it.

Hope baby MM is doing well and improving by the hour.
In Italy Strep B is routine and done on the state from 36/37 weeks you just pay the prescription charge. I signed the petition for it to become routine in the Uk as think it is important.
Pinkali what a lovely Dh you have spoiling you - hope you have a fab time.
Vbab nice that you had a positive exp in hosp - and hope things kick off soon.
Nearly lunchtime here so better go and cook for dd!

Ooh Pinkali your DH has really come up trumps. What a fabulous treat! I'm extremely jealous and might have to book myself a pregnancy massage now .
Re. RLT tablets - I got strong cramps when I started taking them a week ago - and actually thought it might be labour. But you do get used to them.
Re. strepB, I'm pretty sure I haven't been tested for this - wasn't even aware of it? hmm - will ask my MW next time, although next time I see her could be when I'm in labour.
Lacks - LOL at the month of your birthday. So I can see Virgil might have been the consequence of a Birthday Shg, non? tee hee. (ours was a holiday shg!). 40 is big one - my DH turned 40 in July. Maybe a Spa weekend?

DH and I were going to go to Barcelona for the weekend, but virgil kind of changes things as we can't take him and leave the others at the GPs. We weere going to go away in the half term mid feb, but because of DHs job and the way the holidays work he can't take the time off. Sooo.....not sure what to do about it now. Will check out centerparcs for a cheap weekend on my birthday maybe as it's too ££££ at half term!

Morning

Thoughts are with Merry's baby boy x

Just read through all the posts and can remember very little!!

10 days til induction though hoping for earlier as I feel really rough and just keep crying. My head is banging, my arm is num again and I must have said the F word more times through the night when I tried to move or turn than Gordan Ramsey.

Pinkali - Liking your DH's style!
Hana don't blame you booking massage, sorry bloods lost.

Daisy you sound happier last 2 days, I hope things have settled in your household.

Sorry for useless ramble. X

coolkat · 24/10/2008 11:59

Daisy, my DH 30th in december and I am really strugglng to come up with something special that close to babies birth. Only gift idea I can think of so far is a personal number plate which involves the numbers 999 as he works in emergency services.

Any ideas much appreciated!

Pinkali37 · 24/10/2008 12:31

Lacks We will probably just go to BIBIS for lunch in Leeds as I am loving pasta at the moment. But thank you ever so much. The thought of lunch in Leeds without the wine i used to have a few of, isn't as appealing as the shopping!!

Apparently I have been to the Star Inn before (with DH again, he is a gem I have to say).. So these star things they have can't be that memorable! Just looking forward to getting away with DH for US time without a 3rd party crying!!

I've been on the raspberry tea for about 1 week now, however, at least the tablets will not interfere with my bladder!! Even ordered 2 large pineapples from TEsco in the hope it would help induce as well as more curry powder, plenty of and I still bet i will be waiting for Tarquin to make an appearence in 4 weeks time!

ruthosaurus · 24/10/2008 12:40

Hi all, sorry if I forget people today but I am so tired after bad night last night.

Merry, my thoughts are with you and your little boy, hon. Sod replying to anyone, just letting you know that there are loads of hugs here for you and I hope he?s doing better really really soon. Love to your new baby girl as well x

Monkey, bet you feel stupidly tired, but thanks so much for keeping me company last night/this morning. It?s good to have a chat when it feels like its just you who?s awake!

Coolkat, hugs, you sound ready for a baby round about now... I hope you're feeling less crappy soon.

Hi Vbab, I know of the Rotheram hosp but have never been. I don?t know Rotherham v well but I did used to work in Canklow and commute back and forth to Sheffield on the good ol? 69 bus, so I?m more aware of the loveliness of Tinsley? There definitely must be some kind of S Yorks baby boom, then, don?t you reckon? Fingers crossed it quietens down a bit in the next few days? I love the Spa1877 idea but maybe they won?t do treatments if we?re v recently delivered of our babies? Who was it suggested February? I?d be well up for that.

Pinks I am SO and would be even more so except that you bloody well deserve it, matey-girl. There should definitely be more of that kind of thing but I guess if we tell our DHs yours will get killed by the rest!

Sparkle I can?t believe you?re not more worried about the bald bit at the back of the baby?s head. What will all the other competitive mums down the health centre say if your baby doesn?t look exactly like all the rest of them? I mean, imagine? I love the bit in the Rough Guide to pregnancy and birth where she goes on about dressing the baby in the Wrong Colours as well and imagines someone telling a newborn baby boy ?get a grip on yourself, you look like Julian Clary?.

Lacks you sound LOADS more like your usual self, it?s nice to ?hear? you sounding so much more positive! I?ll have what she?s having?

Speaking of which, this morning I am mostly having strong and painful BH contractions, probably a reaction to a silly week and lack of shut-eye last night. Glad the baby is doing everything it can to make life easier!

On the VERY plus side, my parcel finally feckin? arrived! I was actually on the line to the complaints people at Royal Mail when a v sheepish postman knocked on the door. So I now have my Baby Bjorn front carrier and it is going round and round in the washer as I type (it smelled very odd? ). Also, my Plumo catalogue arrived so I am going to get a sarnie and curl up with it.

I so need to sleep but every single position makes the front bit of my pelvis hurt. I am going to ask DH if he can vacate to the sofa on Saturday night just so I can get a bit more rest, but this is an emotional minefield. Perhaps if I negotiate him sodding off post-nookie, so he still feels loved? Mind you, what man is going to agree to that?

Right, catalogue, food and snooze?

Pinkali37 · 24/10/2008 12:59

Sauraus I asked the MW if they could knock me out until the baby arrived so at least I could get some sleep. She laughed at me but honest to god i was being serious.

OK pregnant moment, listen to this. The Red Arrows practise flying near where I live and I just had to go out and pick up the MIL's tablets from the doctors. ANYWAY, when I arrive at the doctors a few people are standing outside watching the free show (the red arrows not me). So i stand there watching too, until an old gentleman poked me on my shoulder and told me I was looking in the wrong direction and in fact was watching some ducks in the sky not the magnificant display of planes! I was so

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 13:11

On the spur of the moment I have booked a weekend at CP in the Lakes for my birthday and managed to find a 20% off voucher on HotDeals so not too bad a price really

and DH is going to look after all the kids (that sounds scary) whilst I have a couple of spa treatments

I am feeling much better thanks, and DH, now the job pressure has eased, is being very entertaining and funny. We had such a laugh last night and it is reminding me just why I fell in love with him all those years ago. That and the prosepct of a weekend away, even with two kids and a baby in tow, has revived me somewhat.

thinking about little Merryman and hoping he is on the mend

No news from Pinkyminkee?

Pinkali I used to enjoy watching them practice when I was in the library supposedly writing essays at uni!
GBS - is supposed to be different if they find it in your water than via a vag swab. Yes its nasty if it goes wrong but so many women carry the bacteria and so few babies have problems that it is very easy to blow out of proportion. Unfortunately the media gives all the attention to the horror stories. I have to do a swab on Monday but want hb regardless, the ABx are a massive dose for tiny baby and carry their own risks. DS was a fast labour so I probably wouldn't have 4hrs anyway (fingers crossed!)
Still no news from Merry or pinky?
Why doesn't DS want his after lunch nap - I am so ready for it!

barbareebaa · 24/10/2008 13:31

hello ladies!
Am off to see Merry this afternoon at Whipps
Will pass on all your love and good wishes!

lol Pinkali fabulous!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 13:55

lol at your ducks pinkali

Give our love to Merry and the babies barbs...and make sure you come back with some names to tell us

Ouch...have just had a particularly bitey contraction...DH had to remind me to breathe!

Pinkali37 · 24/10/2008 14:11

Lacks, am i being slow.. is it a proper contraction?????????

ChocOrange05 · 24/10/2008 14:19

Afternoon all - I have just tried to skim read through 5 pages of chatter!! Here is what I can remember:

Dozy I thought ninky nonk was his you know what but glad to see you clarified things - mind you he is a boy and they do spend a large amount of time playing with their bits don't they!

I am sending lots of PMA vibes and get well thoughts to Merrys baby boy and the family. Barb please say hello. I think Whipps is the best hospital as I was born there and also spent 2 weeks in special care so look at the footsteps he's following in!

Pinkali how nice of your DH - that sounds like just what the Dr ordered although you may want to ask the hotel to supply some plastic sheeting!! (Halloween smileys are back!)

Daisy are you having a really real contraction??

I haven't heard anymore from Obs - I assume she's busy with her LO but will update if I hear anything.

OK - thats all I can remember. Hello to everyone else.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 14:20

who knows pinkali? I've had a few of these over the last week, but not regular or getting worse...had about three over the course of the day yesterday and that was the first one today. I'm not rushing to call my doula or the hospital or cancel the boys' fishing trip just yet!

OP posts:
Pinkali37 · 24/10/2008 14:29

Oh god i completed missed the post about Merrys little boy. Send my best wishes to her and her husband. Am so pleased little girl is doing well. It will be a little bit of little boy man flu and he'll come fighting back! x

Dozymare · 24/10/2008 14:36

barbaree give Merry a huge hug from me (all of us I'm sure) thinking of her and her precious twins.......

Rutho I got my Plumo catalogue at the start of the week and ordered some Xmas bits and the Star Cocktail ring, plus the waterfall cardigan.......haven't told DH yet, but a present to myself!!!!!

Rosa are you Italian or just an ex pat living there? are you going for an Italian name, can you share with us if so??!! I LOVE italian names as I love all things Italy!!!

Speaking of which, coolkat if your DH is a wine lover, how about buying him a case of wine for his 30th - bloody good investment as I did this for DH's 30th and now worth over £1k! (although we will never sell, just drink on special occassions) It is a really memorable present as you can keep celebrating in years to come....Know a bit about wine if you want a hand..........

totally missed that pinky was having her CS - who is her text buddy???? can't believe we could be having another baby today!

I had my final MW appointment today, was with a lovely MW and she reckons I am going to have a 7lber at 38 weeks.....I am a bit as both boys were born at 38w and DS1 was over 10lbs and DS2 was 9lbs although DD does feel a lot smaller...will be interesting to see if she is right or not! In fact, I hope she is wrong as have bought everything in 0-3m which is aimed at 9lb plus babies!

Also got all my hospital stuff together today - can someone link me to the "what to pack for a CS" as I can't find it anywhere and very stupidly in Boots realised that I would need to buy newborn nappies. Wasn't even on my list and now I am panicing that complacent 3rd time mother is going to forget something very very important!!!!!

lacks how are you and the gang today???

DM xxxxxx
