Hello

I've had a lovely day, if a little painful!! Had some friends over for tea and a chat this morning, one of whom is due the end of November, and then I went to the park to feed the ducks with DH and the kids. After the ducks had been fed, they went off for an hour and a half to walk round the lake and left me in the rather lovely lakeside cafe where I had a nice lunch and then sat on the decking overlooking the lake drinking tea and reading my book till they got back. then we came home via the deli and had tea and cake and we have some lovely goodies lined up for a picnic tea

I've been having more of the same pains, and they seem pretty regular, but manageable, althought the odd one has made me stop what I'm doing and hang onto something.

I'm not sure whether or not to call either the CMW or admissions as this could just be nothing again. also not sure whether I have a UTI as I'm needing the loo constantly, even after I've just been or whether it's just the baby's head pushing on my bladder. I have a vague background pain, and just when I think I should do something about it, it goes and I feel just fine. Getting lots of pressure in my back passage as well which I'm not sure is a good thing or not.

I'm also feeling really weepy as these pains are starting to get me down a bit, especially if they aren't doing anything at all

sorry it's all a bit me me me....

was it a false alarm with rutho then? or is it just happening very very slowly? The poor thing , she must be exhausted.

I'm in

what an arse

Congratulations MummyAnnabella and welcome to Lucy

Obs, that's great news about Max; fingers crossed things get going with the breastfeeding. Lots and lots of skin to skin contact and free access to the boob. I used to sit with DS with just a dressing gown and me knickers on and him in a nappy.

Ouch just had another nasty one.

Congratulations mummyannabella

All these babies arriving, wonder if Pinkali will be the last one in October? Have we heard any update yet??

Great news obs glad you got it sorted so quickly in the end

HeartMum let us know how it goes with the Clary Sage might give it a go myself if I can find somewhere that sells it? Have been drinking RLT and taking EPO and seems to have made no difference so think its time to try something else!!!

mum2becks · 31/10/2008 16:41

ceebee74 · 31/10/2008 16:44

Congratulations to MummyAnnabella

Daisy what a lovely day you have had although sorry about the possible UTI. MY friend thought she was in labour but it turned out to be a UTI and she needed antibiotics - I would say it is worth calling someone (MW prob).

Pinky welcome back and so glad everything is going well with Imogen! I would gladly sacrifice all the things I have planned for the next 3 weeks if it meant I could (a) meet my baby, (b) be able to sit down in the lounge again without having to constantly move round each chair to find a comfy position, (c) put my socks and shoes on and (d) stop waking up in the middle of the night with sick in my mouth

mum2becks · 31/10/2008 16:45

ooops dont know what happened there?

Pinkyminkee · 31/10/2008 16:56

lol I have to say, this half term would have been fun whilst really pregnant. Could have done without the 6 days in hospital, though!

lacks I was like that last wednesday night, except the pain wa all across my scar. They put the monitor on me and it turned out I was actually having contractions. I took some codeine and had a bit of a sleep and they went away, but I do think I was actually in early labour, so could be worth getting a check just to see where you are up to.

re sweeps I had one that I did not ask for with DS. It did hurt a bit- like a kind of rough internal from an unsympathetic doctor- my waters went not long after I got home- not the best move on that mw's part as DS was back to back and needed time to turn.

LadyBuzz · 31/10/2008 17:17

Congratulations to Missygoo and Mummyannabella what great news.
Good to see you back Pinkyminkee your DD really is gorgeous!
Obs glad you have had the tongue snip sorted.
Lacks sorry you are still in pain and hope it gets things moving soon.
Cricri if your sweep owrks we may end up with our babies on the same day i'll have to get DH to keep checking my phone even though I won't be able to post on here as I will be in hospital!
DS and I have had a lovely last day together with my Aunty and are about to go to a halloween party he is dressed as a very very cute bat!!

barbareebaa · 31/10/2008 17:29

Congratulations Missygoo and MummyAnnabella

This is all very exciting
I can't beeeleeeve it's November tomorrow!! I am getting very excited indeed!

Obs I'm so glad you were able to get Max's tongue tie sorted.

Rutho Fingers crossed it won't be too long before you meet your baby

Lacks Sounds like a lovely day! Sorry about the UTI worry. Perhaps you should get it checked out.

Btw I don't get Daniel Craig either...

Have been a big mardy bum today. Have been scowling at innocent shoppers and wishing minor ills upon them.

Erm- prob a daft question as I'm sure it's all relative but I'm just curious... What is most painful - the contractions or the baby making its way out. Or is it all mixed together?

Bought loads of curley whurleys (sp)today and several bags of frooty gums. I'm secretly hoping we don't get any trickytreators!

I'm getting scared now. I have just been to the loo and I can honestly say I didn't think it was possible for one person to produce that much poo in one sitting, so to speak (sorry TMI at teatime )

I've also spent the last ten mins in tears at nothing and am hiding out in the living room to avoid the kids as they are making me feel all agitated.

I'm worried that this is the start of it, as suddenyl I don;t feel quite so redy to get this baby out any more

shit typing sorry.

Aw lacks You're going to be fine..

cricri · 31/10/2008 17:49

Daisy Sounds as though things are starting for you. Maybe ring the CMW and see if somebody can come out to see you tonight? Hope you haven't got a UTI, they're horrible.
Hana A show! How exciting - hopefully it won't be long now although can be days sometimes from what I've read.
Ladybuzz I'll hopefully be at home so can always get DH to post your news if I'm otherwise preoccupied! I also have the text nos of the London ladies so one of them can post if I have any news and you're in hospital. Sounds like Daisy might be busy herself so she may not be around
Thanks for the info re sweeps. I keep chuckling to myself because whenever the NCT teacher mentioned sweeps DH kept making comments about Sooty which had the class in stitches. Perhaps you had to be there but it was funny at the time!

misdee · 31/10/2008 18:01

daisy hope things are happening for you. things have slowed down here. few niggles but not stopping me like before. we just had a powercut here, which worried me, had vision of ghiving birth by candlelight (last powercut was out for ages).

LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 18:24

I've called my doula and we're going to reassess in a couple of hours, but she thinks the combination of things happening is promising.

than said what we need is for the big sore pains to get closer together and more painful

I think i might go have a bath and see what difference that makes.

CMWs won;t come out at night so I would need go in to the hospital, but don;t want to incase they say nothing is happening. Will reassess later. MW hasn't sent through my care plan either, although I'm sure virgil isn't too concerend about that.

Am trying to catch up on my scrabble moves bit my brain isn't working too well!

MummyNic · 31/10/2008 18:29

cricri - the MWs here have not made the sweep out to be at all pink and fluffy, it hurts and makes you bleed and is only 50% at starting you off and it can take 48 hours - that's why I chickened out last night. I am determined to be brave on Monday as I think (at the moment) that I'd rather be able to spend a few hours at home rather than have to be stuck in the hospital all day Wed (the day they're going to induce me). I like the idea of having a bath, using my Tens machine and being snug in my house.

Welcome back Pinky!!! Daisy - you poor thing, you sound very down. Fingers crossed for you and everyone else with twinges.

littleoldme · 31/10/2008 18:31

Have a great time Lacka, it won't be as bad as you think and you'll be in lovely safe hands.
Can't wait to meet him!

cricri · 31/10/2008 19:20

Hope all goes well Lacks - wishing you all the best and can't wait to hear about Virgil!
Mummynic Thanks for the details about the sweep - I'll brace myself for some discomfort then if I do have to have one. Let's hope they are successful for both of us!
