congratulations OBs!!

i ordered a ninky nonk last night, but am tryign to track down a reasonably priced pinkyponk as well.

LolaBella · 23/10/2008 16:52

Wow more fab baby news - congrats to Obs and her new baby boy
We need to begin a baby arrival stats update to keep up at this rate and we are not even into November yet!

chocolategal · 23/10/2008 16:53

just a quick congrats to obs i have texted her back with all the goodwishes, no reply yet but i guess she has more important things to do!

great title daisy

Pinkali37 · 23/10/2008 17:01

Any news on Pinky???

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 17:08

lol monkeyM, I am obviously far too chaste to be quite that rude

lol at "playing with his ninky nonk". We call it a winkle in this family (my BIL is called Willie) so anything is possible.

rosa....it isn't munching on it that's meant to help; more of a topical application

glad you got the news you wanted re section LAdyBuzz......my recovery was sooo horrible last time that I can't believe you are looking forward to yours!!

iMum, it took all my energy to hoover a wee bit today and dust the TV; can't imagine mucking out animals as well.

mummynic, at least you knwo that you will be meeting your baby sometime on the 5th!

way to go coolkat . I've had a few biggish BH this afternoon and felt decidedly squelchy after one of them and there was definately some creamy snot when I went to the loo, so things are definately loosening up here. I realise that I could still be in for the long haul though.

I survived the PILs...she didn't do any helping, and I even had to make the tea!!

DD has had a few milky way magic stars and has gone ballistic. No more chocolate for her I think.

Gosh it's been chatty whilst I've been catching up with RL.......and I'm so much of a slug I couldn't even do the school run myself but had to get FIL to do it

Jut bookmarking and catching up - honestly, I leave you lot for 1 afternoon, and there are babies all over the place.

Ahem. Where was I? Oh yes...

WOOOOOOOO - congrats, Obs!!!!!

Oh, I hope she's feeling better soon, any news on baby name?

Three babies now! I am jealous too, Suiledonn. Btw, on your BIL's criteria I have been ready to go into labour since about 1993...

Gonna catch up properly in a bit but back after these messages (and after DH has pissed around on the computer for several hours):

  1. Hana, you were so right, waxing does NOT hurt. Uncomfortable, certainly, not saying I would have it done for kinky thrills, but it's not painful exactly. And now my trousers fit.

  2. DO NOT HOOVER. IT is not worth it the next day and your DH/midwife/mum will not notice anyway.

  3. Also DO NOT follow hoovering with a trip round the shops the day after - I am an idiot and can't walk now.

  4. Old women in M&S are SO rude. I don't think they are used to being the speedy ones who want to push past people.

  5. I am a D cup. WTF? They don't look that much bigger... (was just a B cup in May).

If I don't get back on tonight, love and hugs and please forgive me, I am pooped. Also DH has that "I want to play Age of Conan til I bleed" look on his face... Good luck to anyone going into labour/hosp for C-secs in the meantime!

PS Moo indeed...

ruthosaurus · 23/10/2008 17:18

PS Yay on thread title, Lacks! I love your rhymes!

That is great about the nice MW MummyNic, sounds like she will look after you..

LOL Monkey that is EXACTLY the kind of title I was expecting!!

sparkletoes · 23/10/2008 17:41

Oh and Ceebs was it you that wanted the Radley handbag cos John Lewis are doing 20% off just now...

mum2becks · 23/10/2008 17:53

Wow another baby! Congratulations to Obs and baby Obs

Didnt expect that news until tomorrow so suprised when just seen the news!!! And it looks like there could be a few more babies on the way soon!!! Its all happening now how exciting, just a pity it doesnt look like being my turn just yet think this baby is too comfy for time being

I was with you on 'ninky nonk' dozy DD loves Night Garden, in fact a few weeks ago some one asked her if she wanted a brother or sister, and she said 'no a ninky nonk!' Lets hope she isnt disappointed when the baby arrives!!!!

ruthosaurus · 23/10/2008 17:58

Ooh, Ladybuzz and Mummynic - interesting news! It's all happening, isn't it?

Monkey, PMSL at your next thread title - can we get the word "squelch" in there as well somehow? I am crap at rhymes so I'm leaving that to the experts.

Speaking of experts, DH has a question (not sure I should be encouraging requests). A husband asks: "Does anyone have one of those baby bouncing seat things, not the doorway bouncers, the other kind and a) are they any good and b) are the ones that have a vibrate/musical function better than the plain ol' boring kind that we were dumped into in the 70s? I am a Yorkshire tightwad who does not buy his wife anything like enough chocolate and obviously I don't want to waste money on a gadget that will only make the baby throw up and scream. However, if they work then I am all for them. PS congrats and hang on in there, variously, love from Mr Saurus".

Okay, dear, now back in your box to play with your ninky-nonk you go...

Ladies - the floor is open for your recommendations.

Sparkle I want a Radley handbag as well but I checked out the sale prices in JL this arvo and, well, gosh, not in my lifetime or yours, hon. Not with the current price of eggs.

MummyNic · 23/10/2008 18:14

Rutho - i thought of you whilst in Tesco - they had a sleepsuit that said Baby Saurus on it - if you haven't got one already - go get one!!!

I'm not bothering with a rocker as they tend to be too small at 3-6 months. I have bought a DooMoo. It's quite pricy but comes with a second cover that doesn't have a harness which means it can be used as a beanbag when he's older - good value for money!!!

ruthosaurus · 23/10/2008 18:22

Hi Mummynic, if it's the blue one with babysaurus, daddysaurus on - seen it, bought, it, laundered it! Pinky also sent me a top (bless her and hope she's okay) that says doyouthinkhesaurus on it.

I've had a look at the Doomoo and while I don't think I can run to the spends on that one, I have just washed and re-stuffed my lovely 25 year old John Lewis beanbag, so I may well use that instead. DH will be SO proud of my tightwaddedness...

sparkletoes · 23/10/2008 18:25

Ruthy my DS loved his bouncy chair in fact we had to wean him off it! Was well worth the money for us but know that not all kids like them... Ours was only about £25 tho so not exactly the costliest item in the nursery. I got one as I remember my sister loving hers too.

Oh I didn't actually go on to the site just read the email title from JL. Oh well...

ruthosaurus · 23/10/2008 18:28

Sparkle I have just accidentally left you a rude message on Scrabble - sorry, massive mistype! I was messaging my sister and got confused.

sparkletoes · 23/10/2008 18:30

interesting... have you played yet? (drums fingers on desk)

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 18:51

I got given a Chicco bouncy chair from a friend which is more like an armchair and has straps so you can carry the baby around and it lies completely flat so can be used as a wee bed. Anyway, she used it for her DD, and since then it's been through my DS, my niece, my other niece, DD, my friend's DS and is just waiting for Virgil. Definately got the money's worth out of that one!

OP posts:
mum2becks · 23/10/2008 18:51

saurus my DD loved her bouncy chair and it lasted until she was sitting up so about 6 months (then we had to take it off her as she would try and sit up in it and was scared it would tip over!) hers was the FisherPrice Kick & Play Bouncer which does vibrate, the vibrate was very good at helping her fall asleep!!! I will be using it again for this one as found it very useful

Rosa · 23/10/2008 18:54

Lacks I took the next best option to marinating my fanjo
Misdee have you tried Argos for the pinky ponk or ELC online using the 20% discount. I resited when I was in the Uk getting them for dd but it seems that piggle and co are coming back in this household !!
I have Lindham door bouncer ( from about 5mths ) and a Chicco chair that will rock and also lie flat - Used it loads when dd was small and expect it will gets its moneysworth with this one as well.
In the Uk I had a Fisher Price rocker that vibrates and has music - Dd hated it with a passion -( the vibration and the music)- But she hated all tinny kind of music in all her toys until about 15 mths.

MonkeyMargot · 23/10/2008 18:57

MESSAGE FROM MERRY MARIGOLD

Her baby boy is in special care as he has low temperature, low oxygen levels in blood, not feeding. They are doing tests, and giving him antibiotics. No visitors for the moment!!

ruthosaurus · 23/10/2008 19:02

Hugs to Merry and her babies, poor little mite. Thanks Monkey and keep us informed.

Sparkle I haev no brain, matey and all my letters suck... plus DH is making "wanna go on the puter" and eating my free Marie Claire chocolate noises. Hey! That's MY CHOCOLATE.

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 19:05

Oh, no the poor wee thing; merry must be beside herself with worry . Big hugs and get well vibes to MiniM 2.

ceebee74 · 23/10/2008 19:26

Oh for Merry - will keep everything crossed that this is just a blip - Monkey, can you send her my love?

Saurus my DS also loved his bouncer chair so get your tightfisted Yorkshire hubby to put his hand in his pocket . Ours vibrates and plays music - it was expensive but you can get just plain bouncer chairs for about £20 (we bought a lovely basic one as a present from M&P for my bro/gf). DS was in it until after 6 months so we definitely got our money's worth (plus obviously it is ready for round 2 now )

Sparks thanks for the info about John Lewis/Radley handbags but unfortunately my 'pushing' present will be coming from an outlet shop near us where they are a lot cheaper DH did a recce while he was there with MIL last weekend and says they have quite a good choice!
