lacks - if you think a bath would be nice then go for it! Never know relaxing might be last thing required to get things moving for you.

MummyNic · 30/10/2008 23:31

Never too late for a nice bath!!

I love James Bond, not Daniel Craig - I can't believe he's only just turned 40!!! I'd have put him in the mid 40s at least.

Apparently he doesn't say Bond, James Bond nor are there gadgets - so I do wonder... Why am I going?!!! Still, last cinema trip for a while and DH wants to see it too so it should be a nice weekend.

missygoo · 30/10/2008 23:32

just coming on quickly, from hospital.
had another bleed this morning. Pains too. They have got steadily worse, are now contractions.
Am now 100 miles from home cos I didn't make it to the 37 week mark.
Ah well, am so excited that I will meet my wee man soon.

LackaDAISYcal · 30/10/2008 23:33

vbab not sure about when they will suggest a formula feed, but the skin to skin is still very important in terms of you bonding with the baby and helping him adjust to the outside world.....and it is such a lovely feeling having your lovely warm baby against your body

I also thinks it's possible to even give that first colostrum feed (to transfer your antibodies) if the baby shows signs of rooting and then still go on to formula feed without any confusion to the baby.....easier to go from boob to bottle.

but basically skin to skin won't confuse him at all, it'll make him feel happy and secure and loved.

And please don't worry about the MWs. They should not judge you for your feeding decision, and if they do I would be having strong words with whoever was in charge. they should give impartial non judgemental advice.

oh, missygoo, sorry that you are miles away from home, and that you've had this bleed, but all the best for your labour

Let us know as soon as you can. I think coolkat might be a bit busy to get on and let us know. I'll ping you a text if you like and I can keep everyone informed

Are you in Ninewells? I'm sure one of our number lives close enough to pay you a visit!!

Well I had my bath but I think I might have overdone the lavender oil. when DH came in to help me out the bath he nearly had an asthma attack

As I suspected, anything that was happening has stopped, although my innards have had the most spectacular clear out

LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 00:56

Just googling lavender oil and came across this link which might be of interest.

AM worried now that I've caused damage to virgil by my overenthusiastic use of lavender oil in the bath........

Still here and contracting! Hope you are all fine and getting some sleep. Hugs to Missygoo.

mum2becks · 31/10/2008 06:53

ooh looks like more babies are on their way!!

Good luck missygoo sorry you ended up far away from home but you are going to meet your little one very soon!!!

saurus are you still contracting or maybe at hospital by now?? As soon as i read your messages I checked my phone but no texts as yet!! How exciting

chocO dont worry about not having any of these signs, I didnt even have BH's with DD, no show, and they had to break my water when in labour so it doesnt mean that things wont still happen when good and ready!!!! I havent had any signs this time either and I'm due on saturday too!!!

ruthosaurus · 31/10/2008 07:20

Getting a bit more fierce now - 6 mins apart and 2 mins or so. DH out getting bacon sarnie! Not texted as using phone as stopwatch. Ow.

misdee · 31/10/2008 07:41

been up since 6am, having either strong BH again, or weaker (but stronger than before) contractions. every few minutes lasting 45-ish seconds. enough to stop me talking. homebirth kit hasnt been dropped off yet, so am giving it an hour or so, or to see if waters break or show appears before going in. dh is awake, going to get the kids dressed soon and put my parents on standby i guess.

MummyNic · 31/10/2008 07:43

Ooh, Missygoo and Rutho this is soooo exciting.

Fingers crossed that all goes well.

Keep us updated if you are able!!

Just booked my James Bond tickets - quite glad I didn't have the sweep now - my last weekend with DH and no baby starts at lunch time when I'm off to his work to have lunch together - something we've never done before.

MummyNic · 31/10/2008 07:44

x post, you as well misdee - gosh, halloween is gonna be good!!!

tostaky · 31/10/2008 07:48

still 12 days to go and absolutly zero signs of labour despite eating pineapple, curries and drinking raspberry leaf tea...

misdee · 31/10/2008 07:50

using this to time its quite cool

MonkeyMargot · 31/10/2008 07:54

good luck rutho and Missygoo!!! Can't wait to see some baby news later today with any luck!!

mum2becks · 31/10/2008 07:54

Ooh misdee too! today is going to be good!!!!

Possibly a further 3 babies before we even reach November

Hope all this excitment helps give this one the push it needs!!!!!!

cricri · 31/10/2008 08:51

Wow, I can't believe we have another 3 babies on the way! Fantastic news and good luck to all.
I've been in touch with Dozy by text and she and Tallulah are doing really well. She sends her best wishes to those about to have their babies!

Heartmum2Jamie · 31/10/2008 08:57

Ohhh, how very exciting to hear from Rutho, missygoo (although sorry about you being so far from home) and Misdee! Good luck to you all, I hope everything goes smoothly.

I really don't particularly want a Halloween baby, so have had words with bump and told him he may not attempt to arrive until very late tonight, so that it will be the 1st if he arrives, lol! Actually, as a family we are big F1 fans and the last race of the season is on Sunday and we have been looking forward to it for months. Sod's law says I go into labour sometime on Sunday. I can just imagine the bopys telling me to stop my mooing because they can't hear the tv

LadyBuzz · 31/10/2008 09:02

Ooh more babies (Hopefully) how exciting, Good luck to all three of you, hope we have some news soon.

ceebee74 · 31/10/2008 09:17

Ooh ooh 3 more babies on the way (maybe!) - good luck to Missygoo, Saurus and Misdee - will be checking in as often as I can (although DH is working from home and hogs the computer )

I can't believe how many babies have arrived/will be arriving before the 1st November!!

DS having a Halloween party at nursery today - he has gone off in a devil costume - so cute!

Happy Halloween everyone

chocolategal · 31/10/2008 09:20

must go get some shopping as have just eaten a galaxy for breakfast!!

LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 09:35

wow...this is just sooooooooo exciting.

rutho, I hope you managed to get some rest overnight; sounds like it's been a sore one for you. Fingers crossed you are in the hospital already and soon cuddling your new little bundle.

misdee, here's hoping this is it for you as well, but sorry you won't get your homebirth if it is.

thinking of missygoo, here's hoping she has her baby already.

am waiting on community midwife to call now, hopefully this is it and they will allow me to go on at home.

these pains are making me feel sick, they are in my back and it hurts. a lot

about 1min each one. is that long enough?

LackaDAISYcal · 31/10/2008 09:50

misdee I think it;s more about the quality of the contraction rather than the length of the them.....but iirc 45 secs - a minute sounds about right. Hopefully the MW will be able to tell. Is she going to do a VE?

How frequent are they now?
