Hello! I'm new to mumsnet AND being a mum ? this is my first!! Am only 15+3 weeks. I live in Blackheath / Lew and was wondering if there are any pregnancy groups that I can join / attend other than the NCT classes (I might be too early for those classes?). Just a gossip coffee on a saturday morning with people in the same boat would be nice!

I often catch the train from Blackheath St and wonder if there are any other 15 weekers on the platfrom just getting over morning sickness!!

Im very accessible to Manor Park too.

Would love to hear from anyone

Em

Hi Em and congratulations on your pregnancy. Definitely worth booking your classes now - it gives you the choice of a longer course with shorter sessions or vice versa. It is also worth joining the local branch of the NCT as members run coffee mornings and other meet-ups.

Hello Mrs. I am 2 stations down the line from you and am 10 weeks tomorrow. I am new to all of this too and constantly terrified of something going wrong or DOING something wrong. I am on the tread for 1st time mums expecting spring babies where everyone is in the same boat - come on over!!!

P.S which hospital are you booked in at?

helpivegottogivebirth · 08/10/2008 08:47

I am down the hill from you in Deptford Bridge/Greenwich - only just found out on friday and am only about 5 weeks. Does not feel real yet - i keep forgetting! Perhaps that's the hormones!
I would love to meet people in the same boat locally but feel a bit of a fraud at the moment as i have no bump yet and few symptoms except sore boobs and felt a bit sick this morning for the first time.

se8mum · 07/11/2008 13:27

Hello
I am also in Deptford/Greenwich and having a Spring baby. Would love to meet pregnant ladies locally...any groups around?

Tupperwife · 09/11/2008 09:46

I'm due beginning of February, so it would be great to meet others in Greenwich/ Blackheath.

se8mum · 11/11/2008 13:57

How can we organise a group to meet in the area?

helpivegottogivebirth · 11/11/2008 18:58

yes - that would be great. I am in the Onese8 development - we could always meet at RED bar!

se8mum · 14/11/2008 09:43

sure, how do we go about it?

Tupperwife · 24/11/2008 13:32

Shall I bite the bullet and suggest a time? What about Wednesday next week, 3rd December I think, in the Railway next door to Blackheath station on the way home from work?

I've just realised how much I've got to do in my remaining 10 weeks of non parenthood, and could do with a bit of therapeutic panicking soon.

afterbaby · 24/11/2008 17:06

Hi ladies - saw your discussions about antenatal care. I am a midwife that is practising in your area so please have a look at our website www.afterbaby.co.uk hope we can be of help to you.

se8mum · 01/12/2008 15:01

I can meet in Blackheath this wednesday if others are available

feb80 · 01/12/2008 17:24

Hello all, I would love to join in as I live nearby too. Is this still going ahead?

I am 10 weeks (perhaps a bit behind you all but I'm so keen to meet local mums-to-be) and can get to The Railway at Blackheath on Wed 3rd Dec.

daisyj · 01/12/2008 17:37

Ooh, hello everyone - how exciting. And especially to heverhoney - haven't seen you on Spring Babies thread for a while - glad all OK.

I was just saying on another thread that I'd decided to give the NCT classes a miss as they are so expensive and we are completely broke from just having bought and done up a new flat, so it would be really lovely to meet up with others in the area for a bit of ante- and post-natal company. I'm 23+2 and living in Hiter Green/Lee and it's my first, too.

I can't meet next Wednesday, but would defnitely be up for a meet in Blackheath/Manor Park area some time v. soon.

Will check back later.

xx

se8mum · 02/12/2008 17:12

Hello,
Is the meeting tomorrow going ahead?

Tupperwife · 02/12/2008 17:43

I'll be there about 6.30. Presumably we're all pretty distinctive looking, being pregnant and all. Shall we try to sit close to the front windows so we don't have to wander around the pub seeking each other out?

daisyj · 03/12/2008 13:14

Oops, misread the date the other day, thinking next Weds (baby brain) - today is good - I'll be there by 7.00 with quite distinct bump!

feb80 · 03/12/2008 15:17

Am I 'pregnant enough'(!) at 10 weeks to join tonight? If so I'll see you there at 6.30pm but don't have a bump yet so I may look like a bit of an imposter...

clon · 03/12/2008 15:26

Hello all

I'm in the early days of preg already have dd. I live in Hither Green. Can't make tonight but hope you all have a lovely evening.
If you're looking for ante natal classas I can recommend Bump2Bubba run by a nice lady called Tania, much less preachy than NCT.
I'm sure when your lovely babies are here you'll all be in manor house gardens wheeling them round - it's nappy central there! It's my dd's favourite place!

se8mum · 03/12/2008 15:40

I will be there at 6.30. Looking forward to it

daisyj · 03/12/2008 16:12

Hi clon - Someone mentioned Tania and Bump2Bubba on another thread a while ago and I tried to look her up but the webiste doesn't seem to exist any more. Do you have contact details for her?

heverhoney1 · 03/12/2008 19:38

Ah shocking I only just got a look at the thread!! Cant believe I missed you guys tonight I hope you had a great time. Would def be up for meeting in the same type of place soon. My train home goes through Blackheath.

Glad all seems well witht he local ladies and hope to see you soon - Hopefully by then I wont just look like I have eaten a few more pies than normal and you can pick me out as a preggers lady!!!

daisyj · 04/12/2008 09:41

Hi hever - sorry you missed us. There were five of us - which I thought was pretty well organised! - and it was great fun. We've exchanged email addresses, so we can meet again. I'm going to try to email you through here now, so you can join in.

daisyj · 04/12/2008 09:45

hever - you haven't got the CAT option ticked, so I can't email you. Let me know if you want to change your settings and I'll CAT you. I've just paid the sub, so I'm all set!

clon · 04/12/2008 11:00

Hi daisyj
I have Bump2Bubba's contact number which as it is listed on other internet sites I guess there's no prob with me putting it here: 07899 817221.
Glad you had a lovely evening.

feb80 · 04/12/2008 11:46

Good to see all the local ladies last night, with our variety of bump sizes ranging from the non-existent to the perfectly formed!
