Good luck with induction Accessorize and I will keep my fingers etc crossed for you to avoid CS - my sister (a twin herself)has had two sets of twins and I know how much pressure there can be to get induced etc.

accessorizequeen · 26/09/2008 23:03

thanks, bm they've actually been quite laid back at the hospital & supported my wanting as normal a birth as possible. Two sets of twins, OMG!

ronshar · 26/09/2008 23:05

AQ, is the C-section risk higher just because there are two little beans to push out? I hope you can get things moving before then. Surely the twins must be running out of room by now? They must be quite ready for a stretch.

Bigmouth. I have just had to go back through your post to look for spellings. I think it is time for me to go to bed as I am now getting out my red pen to make corrections
I know what you mean about the car thing. We are having to get rid of Volvo estate as DD1 is having to sit in the middle and it is reallly uncomfortable for her as the middle seat is raised and has a pull down arm rest behind. I havent got a hope in hells chance of fitting in there. So it is a new car for us. Hopefully, if we ever sell this car!!

accessorizequeen · 26/09/2008 23:09

we've just got our new car (sigh), a ford galaxy. I can't drive it yet as had to give up driving last week! But it will hopefully fit all 4 kids plus double buggy.

ronshar, yes risk with twins plus I've had a previous section so risk of scar rupture. I cannot believe they're still in there, having been told at 28 weeks I was at risk of going into prem labour. But pleased they'll be healthy little bods, section or not!

ronshar · 26/09/2008 23:16

I bow down before you even lower now my love. Term twins after previous C-section. I am pleased that hospital are being so cool about it all for you. Not so sure my local one would be so laid back. They like to section first time breech mothers!
I have my fingers crossed and have added you to my positive labour mantra. Popsy, AJM, CSWS, AQ . Who else is due this week? I shall have to look back.
Lets all visualise the cervix opening up. Actually I think it is making me a bit sick
I am going to get my miserable ass up to bed and think of how very miraculous our bodies are.
Night ladies.
Good luck AJM.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 26/09/2008 23:19

Yes two sets AQ - she has 7 kids all together - They have a minibus to get around in

I think if dh was the one stuck in the middle seat then we would have a new car before you could say 'new car' - but as I don't drive it is not essential.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 26/09/2008 23:20

night Ronshar - I am typing from my bed already

Honeymoonmummy · 26/09/2008 23:47

Thanks Ronshar. I've not worn underwired bras for months now but I did wonder if it might be my bra getting a bit tight as I get bigger.

I like the baby's bottom idea because it doesnt feel at all like a sharp pain coming from a limb.

Night all!

star6 · 27/09/2008 00:25

I went to bed and now am up! Let DH go to this thing, but I want him to come home now... he said it's ending "soon"...

star6 · 27/09/2008 00:42

I'm going to get him with the car because I can't bear the thought of worrying over him coming home on the bus!

ajm200 · 27/09/2008 07:03

Morning ladies, still at home - no baby yet.
The contractions stayed at 20-25 mins apart and about 10pm i was hit by a big wave of tiredness, probably due to only 2hrs sleep the night before. Got some sleep and have just got up.. the contractions are far less uncomfortable today but still there.. have to see what today brings.

Amazing to see that some of you have managed to sleep past 4am or at least stay off here. Hope you all had a good night and that stars hubby had a good night and didn't get in trouble for staying out until the wee small hours.

Haven't caught up with everyones postings since yesterday but will try to later.. for now I'm going to get some breakfast and get moving to work out whats happening with baby.. I'll be so gutted if this all dies out again. Yesterday was so uncomfortable and I don't want to believe that these are BHs again as they got stronger, regular and more frequent. Problem is I have a history of going into labour and it stopping again. Did at 29 weeks this time and stop/started for about a week with DS. If that was BHs it even fooled the Drs.

usuallytooshytochat · 27/09/2008 07:51

Hello - A bit late, but would like to join in. stats: 3rd Oct 1 ds surprise, Harrow.
Reading back over this thread is really exciting!

sambrads · 27/09/2008 08:21

ajm hope your ok was really worried about ya last night

ds party today and i am so glad im still here !! we will have our hands full today but i cant wait to see his wee face when the bouncy castle arrives he will just love it !!!!

dh said last night that it looked like we were having a good wee girl as she has done what she has been told and stayed in there to let her big brother enjoy his birthday time !! ahh thought that was so sweet

went to bf house last night she is 8 weeks pregnant and just glowing with happiness. another of our friends is 30 weeks she was there as well and she looked like something out of a fashion mag !! perfect hair makeup skinny jeans black patient heels a vest and cardi and thats just to eat a chinese at someones house !!!!

feel so frumpy compared to her

star6 · 27/09/2008 08:35

Welcome usuallytoshytochat!! You're due on my birthday Oct. 3rd... and you're not far from me! (I think... I'm in kingston upon thames).
Picked up DH from poker - had a burst of energy after a nap... he had to "finish up" and persuaded me to COME IN (so he could finish he game... he had text to say he was done already!)... there were only 4 guys left... but STILL... I was in pj trousers and big top - luckily I had a jacket that still buttons over my chest as nipples were leaking quite a bit .

star6 · 27/09/2008 08:37

oh so sorry ajm!! I hope baby comes today. Just relax and take it easy... or, well, I guess that's not right... run up and down the stairs!

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/09/2008 08:54

Morning ladies. Didn't get up til 7 today . Was later to bed though as out with girls for desserts, coffee and chat.

Sorry for missing you off stats honeymoonmummy - had a feeling that someone wasn't there. Have amended now .
Welcome usuallytooshy - no need to be shy with us .
Star - unless I'm very much mistaken, Harrow is North London, not south like Kingston!

Should we be glad or sad for no baby yet ajm? Want to make sure I have the right vibes!

Dh's birthday today, so we're off out for dinner tonight, and dd will stay with in-laws. MIL's b'day on Monday too, so we'll have lunch with them tomorrow when we go to get dd back. Quite happy for ds to stay inside until his due date, so go easy of the vibes for me until then please ronshar .

morning all
honeymoonmummy...umm...sounds a bit like braxton hicks?? Is your stomach tight too when it happens?

Aubergenie · 27/09/2008 10:34

Ajm ? Sorry nothing?s happened yet. It must be very frustrating not knowing what?s going on. Glad you managed to rest at least. Hopefully today will be better. Keep us posted if you can.

Have fun today Sambrads. I know what you mean about feeling frumpy. I?m SO SICK of all my clothes. I can?t wait till I can wear something decent again. I went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago only to discover that the lovely wrap-around maternity dress I?d got didn?t cover my expanding bump! I wouldn?t mind, but I?m not even that big. A woman at work who had a baby recently measured herself and was 6 ft all the way round?

Welcome usuallytooshy! This thread is definitely getting exciting!

You must be feeling the strain at this point Acessorize. I?m struggling with just the one in there. I?m curious, why do they need to induce you with twins if all is well with them? Fingers crossed they make an appearance before then.

I?ve been thinking about Lozza70 ? wasn?t she having some problems with her liver recently and was there talk about her being induced (or have I got confused?). Does anyone know how she is? Lozza if you?re there, I hope it?s all good!

Looking at the stats list, I?ve realised that I?m still listed as surprise. Actually, I found out a few weeks ago at my growth scan that I?m having a boy. It was VERY obvious! I was quite taken aback.

We?ve got a lovely quiet weekend planned (assuming I don?t give birth, that is). I think we may go shopping for a sling, but other than that I?m planning on doing very little. Bliss!

Enjoy your weekend too, everyone.
x

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/09/2008 10:53

Lozza was being induced on 23rd iirc, so she should have her baby by now .

OP posts:
rowanmac · 27/09/2008 12:03

checking in daily now as 4 pages of chat a day are hard to keep up with but v exciting. I stayed in bed until 10.30 this morning, not sure if I feel any better. DS now refers to me as grumpy mummy, its hard not to be when throwing up into kitchen sink and little voice says 'can I see?'

I'm trying to think of things to do to trigger off labour. I painted the 6ft garden fence on Thursday, fortunatly being tall didn't need a ladder, have cut back all weeds into hedge and have weeded vegetable patch. DH v unobservant hasn't noticed fence done, suspect would get told off. Have ordered trampoline for garden, arrives Tuesday, going for a good bounce then if no action.

jenwa · 27/09/2008 12:08

I was up early this am so went to next sale but it was naff!! Came home with afew things but luckily as I am skint I had not spent too much!

ajm hope things work out for you, hopefully baby will arrive for you soon (if you want)

AQ glad all well with you and babies are still nice and comfy. Fingers crossed no induction required!

bethoo Did you have your date last night at the cinema or is that tonight?

jenwa · 27/09/2008 12:12

ronwanmac bouncing on a trampaline! Wow!!! That should help, you can also admire the fence painting then too
Men dont notice much do they!!

accessorizequeen · 27/09/2008 13:08

oh, so sorry ajm, I do know exactly how you feel as its been going on like that for days with me. And if they're bh's I'm Scooby Doo! Hope you can rest as much as possible as it really takes it out of you, I've been in bed all morning after they started at 3am.

Aubergenie, congrats on finding out about your ds I have 2 boys & they're so affectionate with me & dp. BTW, they have to induce me now (so I'm told) because the placentas with twins will start to fail much sooner than with a single baby.

SmudgeyDoodle · 27/09/2008 13:53

AJM and AQ I hope things are happening. It's such a lovely day here and DS is in bed and I was thinking of cutting the grass. Decided it's beyond me though so came on here instead.(Rowanmac you put me to shame) It's just taken me 30 mins to catch up!!!! Sambrads I hope DS had a lovely birthday party and now you can relax.
Better go and make some lunch before he wakes up though. Positive thoughts to those who want them!
