ajm200 · 11/10/2008 05:19

Hi everyone... been up since 4am and can't believe how quiet it is on here today. Have all you earlybirds had your babies now?

Got up as I was feeling crampy and had heartburn but now I don't know what to do with myself as I can't wake DS and DH..

Guess I'll make another baby cardi..

Alexa808 · 11/10/2008 08:31

Wow, this thread is really coming along nicely. I've missed sooo much!

I'm afraid I have no idea what Tienette's weight is in oz. or lbs [dumb emoticon] as I'm continental European and generally a bit useless at the moment (brain has turned to mush in pregnancy).

annwoo: congratulations to your little boy! sambrads: congrats on the birth of your baby girl! star6*: finally, after sooo many hours: congrats to giving birth to Quinlan! I hope you're both recovering well from all the stress.

rosebury: congrats on the arrival of your little boy! Bethoo: what a lovely name, thought of it myself: congratulations on the birth!! Hoff: congrats on the birth of you little boy!

MrsTittleMouse: congrats on your little girl!! How was it? You well?
1sttimer80: congratulations on having your boy! What's his name? Aubergenie: congratulations on the birth of your little one! Plusonemore: congrats on having your little boy! *MrsBish: congrats on having little Rachel!

*Hedgepig: congrats on the arrival of Oliver! He wouldn't wait to meet his mummy, would he? I hope both of you are well!
Emmsy: congratulations on the arrival of your little baby girl!

Hey Snowymum: congrats on the arrival of little Rowan Michael! >>>RonsharCSWS

sambrads · 11/10/2008 10:53

hi ajm another baby cardigan how many is that now ??

so how are you doing ????

cant believe another thread is nearly full its hard to believe just how quickly the babbies are coming.

Brooke is in a 4 hour routine and is god as gold has been having a few problems though with day and night but think i have that sorted now

ajm200 · 11/10/2008 11:48

About 6 cardigans and 4 blankets in various sizes and shades of pink . If the scan next week shows boy bits we are in trouble

I'm doing fine now.. baby has dropped again and I can really feel her head when I sit down. Getting mild cramps but nothing like before so still playing the waiting game

How are you getting on, are you coping with the lack of sleep? I'm amazed that you have Brooke on a 4hr routine already, well done.

WombFor1More · 11/10/2008 12:37

Congrats to all these new babies

Just wanted to say to those left waiting MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR SLEEP WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!

I am sooooo tired. Harvey feeds ebery hour and half -2hrs day and night then when he's fed at night he doesn't settle well as he has so much wind and he gets really frustrated. This being the reason I have missed so much o here lately

Hopefully he'll be in some kind of sleep pattern soon!! Other 3 were never like this so having a "real baby" has come as a bit of a shock lol!

Anyway hope you're all doing ok and hopefully I'll be able to catch up soon

accessorizequeen · 11/10/2008 15:14

Hullo all, this is the first chance I've had to track you down since I had the dt's 2 weeks ago today! Can't believe they're that old already and tbh seems as though they've been around for ever. Not sure who tracked down the details of their names & weights (Jenwa?) but nice to see I was on the list! I narrowly escaped induction as my waters broke at home and contractions started immediately. I was 39+4 when finally delivered them both in about 2 hours and 20 mins apart. Have to say, I was so busy pushing out Felix that when it was over I had completely forgotten there was another one to push out too!! An amazing experience, it's just hitting me now that I gave birth to TWO babies.

Congrats so much to all the new mums especially first timers, I so remember how tough and scary it was not to mention overwhelming in the first few weeks (months?!). And good luck to all those still due and no doubt frustrated with it!

How are you all finding the bfing (if you are?)? It was an enormous struggle the first few days with the dt's, I was so close to giving up. The afterpains were worse than I've ever had, it was like being in labour all over again! Luckily I've mastered tandem feeding with the aid of 50 cushions or so...

07mumstheword · 11/10/2008 15:27

Thank you for your kind congratulations

I've posted my birth story in the birth announcements for any of you who are interested.

ajm200 · 11/10/2008 16:49

It's amazing how fast these babies are arriving and how early some of them are!! Well done and congratulations to anyone I have missed.

Been for a long walk this afternoon and really felt baby drop. Not seeing the MW for two weeks so hopefully baby will decide to make an appearance before then. Going for an even longer walk tomorrow to help things along after spending tonight hanging over the ball as baby is currently back to back

Just watching DH washing our car and DS washing his pedal car. He's watching everything his dad does and copying it is so cute..

star6 · 11/10/2008 17:15

oh congrats to all of the new babies!!! This is so exciting Nice to hear back from you accessorizequeen I can't believe you gave birth to 2 babies... you are truly amazing. csws my fingers are also relieved to be uncrossed for you at last!
I posted on the bf thread and got some good advice tiktok is great! Feeling a bit better now, but still really rough. I just keep remembering how everyone says it does get better. Just waiting for that day. To be honest, I think things will be easier when DH goes back to work. He's helpful in his own way but also irritating and does nothing as I'd like it to be done or WHEN I'd like it to be done... he thinks he's an enormous help because he holds the baby (while baby sleeps) from 8pm-3am while I "sleep" and he comes in every 2 hours (or less) when baby wants to feed. Then he goes to sleep from 3am until maybe 10 or 11am (but says I can wake him at any time). We just got home from a short outing and I said, can you hold the baby or do the laundry? He said, "I'll take the baby"... . people say to let the housework go... but you have to keep on top of some things.

ajm200 · 11/10/2008 17:20

Star He's a typical new dad. Just trying to maximise his time with Quinlan before he has to go back to work. If Quinlan likes to be held all the time, have you thought of investing in a soft sling so that you can carry him about while keeping your hands free. You might find it really helpful when DH goes back to work and you are managing on your own.
Glad you are feeling more positive about the BFing. It is hard work at first but when you have the hang of it, it can be really hard to give up and move to formula as you lose your special time together.

star6 · 11/10/2008 17:39

Thanks ajm200
We were out today and I haven't mastered the art of public breastfeeding yet (I'm quite modest), so I let DH give him my expressed milk in a bottle...and cried watching it because I wasn't feeding him... but get this... he drank about 65ml!!! THEN, I took him to wind him and he moved his head toward my breast with his mouth open wanting to suck.
How much do babies get when they bf?? How much expressed milk should a baby have if not with me to bf? Is there a website out there that details all of this?

ajm200 · 11/10/2008 17:51

I'm not too sure as I bf DS but I think it is based on babies weight. This should help you. I've heard good things about this site. It took me ages to get brave enough to BF in public. A vest top under your main top helps, you can pull your main top up and the vest down so that only your nipple is exposed and hidden by Quinlan's head. You might also find a sling useful for the same reason, it allows you to coverup while you are feeding.

rosebury · 11/10/2008 18:35

Evening ladies sorry not been on all week but new baby keeps me busy what with bf pooing washing and visitors there is no time for mn I w3ill try harder this week to keep in touch.
Not done my birth story yet but for the stats Austin weighed in at 9lbs 2oz no stitches either but not sure that should be bragged about.

Congratulations to all of you that have your gorgeous babies and good luck to those still awaiting the arrival of the stork.

see you on the new thread.

rowanmac · 11/10/2008 19:47

ajm i've been trying to go for walks, seemed to work for hedgepig, couldn't do 2 miles though like she did.

we were going to go out for lunch today as my birthday on Tues but too sick so we'll try tomorrow. Did manage to get new carseat for ds and ordered chair for newbie as we borrowed one for DS and i haven't bought anything new for this one except some sleepsuits [guilt emoticon]

Given that CSWS managed to post 7 minutes after giving birth do you think she'll be back in time to start the new thread or does anyone else know how to do it? Or will the ladies in waiting be left in cyberspace limbo while she flits over to a post natal thread .

moodywren you sound like superwoman, please tell me you didn't do the school run hours after giving birth.

Huge congrats to all the ladies whose births I've missed, and sorry to have kept you all on the edge of your seats for so long this week!

OP posts:
SmudgeyDoodle · 11/10/2008 20:09

Evening all. Been quieter on here now. Hope everyone is ok and been enjoying their LO or taking it easy before they arrive. We've been shopping today and I'm not absolutely shattered despite us not actually buying anything - looking for a new digital camera. Tedmundo - thinking that maybe things are happening as you've not been back on. Star - glad you found some helpful stuff re BF. Once you've done your first feed out of the house, you'll be at it all the time. Nothing better than sitting proudly with your LO whilst you scoff cake in a teashop! Rowanmac - hope you get a nice lunch out tomorrow. AJM - our DS is doing everything to copy Daddy now too (including holding his willie and pretending to have a pee ) Womb41more - hope you manage to get a slightly longer sleep soon. Ronshar - sounds like you've got a good 'un with sleeping. Any tips??

SmudgeyDoodle · 11/10/2008 20:11

Waves madly at CSWS. Phew, so glad you are back. You can see we were starting to worry about starting a new thread without you. Bet DD was pleased to see you home!

emkay · 11/10/2008 20:31

Any baby action pepper? Having curry tonight...

rach010 · 12/10/2008 08:14

CSWS WELL DONE, you must of been shattered, probably still are!

Nothing to report here, been having mild period pains for a few days on and off hoping its a sign but not getting hopes up too much.

Have a good day ladies

star6 · 12/10/2008 09:30

CSWS it's like we swapped due dates!! Funny how that works out... you wanted to get yours out and I wanted more time and they ended up doing the opposite Both happy now, though

star6 · 12/10/2008 10:46

Yes it was then. I don't need to ring the hosp do I? Is this the onset or am I just getting my hopes up?
Can't believe this is my 3rd and I am asking such dumb questions but was induced with other 2 so a bit clueless. Lucky you getting a nap. I have been organising ds2's 2nd birthday party. Hope things go well for you. Keep us informed
