mum2jakeyroo · 12/10/2008 12:44

You too. Hope your baby appears while fave mw is on duty

accessorizequeen · 12/10/2008 13:26

mumtojakeyroo, I had a show and it was 10 days later that I delivered the dt's. It just means things are happening, could be a day could be a week! I did get rather excited though as I was desperate for things to kick off!

star6 · 12/10/2008 13:45

I had 2 days after show, then waters then contractions 2 hours later

star6 · 12/10/2008 13:51

I hope you make it through party mtjr and fingers crossed for things getting started for you pistachio. are you both having homebirths? how exciting!!!

SmudgeyDoodle · 12/10/2008 20:05

Pistachio, Mum2JR - any news? Hope the party went ok. I've just got really painful pelvis and can hardly walk but I think that's due to going round town yesterday. DH doesn't seem to get that it's really painful to walk and move around. He is doing stuff to help but wouldn't think to do other bits and will just strop if I ask him. Jenwa, was it you with an unhelpful OH too? Bath and early bed I think. How's the feeding Star? Any luck with your curry Emkay? I'm having one tonight which DH is cooking - good old Jamie Oliver!

mum2jakeyroo · 12/10/2008 20:41

Party went ok. thanks Everyone been and gone. Started getting pains at 7.15 every 10 mins. Had a bath but now seem to have stopped since getting out of bath. ?? Should I have had the bath? Might send oh out for a hot curry

SmudgeyDoodle · 12/10/2008 20:51

Glad you managed the party. Last time when I was in labour I had a lie down and my contractions stopped so I got up again. i wish now that I'd just made the most of it and took the reprieve and that's what I think I'll do this time. If it's going to happen then it will do in it's own time. Good luck!

emkay · 12/10/2008 21:03

Nothing happening following the curry... as smudgey says it'll happen in its' own time! At least we had a beautiful sunny day out and about in Richmond Park. Really enjoying the time we have left just being a family of three.

Sciatica seems to have totally disappeared thankfully but I lost my ankles overnight... seeing MW tomorrow so will ask about that.

I think having baths early on in labour might slow things down, mum2jr but if you're on the way you'll get going again soon enough, I'm sure! Walk up and down a few stairs if you want to encourage them along!

mum2jakeyroo · 12/10/2008 21:09

I couldn't remember whether the advice was to bath or not to bath. Well boys are in bed now so bump can wait till tomorrow.

usuallytooshytochat · 12/10/2008 21:13

Just popping in to let you know I had a baby girl - Megan Leah on Sat 11th at 5am. 8lb2 Surprise homebirth with ambulance crew in attendance. as I wanted homebirth anyway, but was told not to by docs! She is very lovely, feeds all the time and we're now back from 36 hours observation in hospital. sending good birth vibes to those of you still waiting.

ronshar · 12/10/2008 22:00

Well done tooshy. I want details. That sounds exciting

CSWS, welcome back. What a week for you & DH.

I thought we were in for an easy ride with this little man. Wrong. I can only feed from left breast as he has mashed the other one. Expressing from right as it will burst otherwise. My left breast is beginning to show signs of wear[ouch]. I cant seem to get him to open his mouth wide enough. Apart from when he is shouting at me, he has no trouble then!!
Oh well early days.

Come on Popsy. We are waiting you know

ronshar · 12/10/2008 22:01

Mum2, not too bath would be my answer as it can slow things up.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 12/10/2008 23:02

wow, huge congrats everyone who's had their babies, especially csws and great to hear back from AQ, so in awe of you!

am still here and not anticipating and early arrival, freezer is full of home made meals (3 lasagnes by one friend who came over today, bless her!) but house is a state, hope nesting kicks in at some point, just can't be arsed!

twinklytoes · 12/10/2008 23:02

thought I'd better get a post in before we move to the next thread.

must be record week for births this week. congratulations to all of you.

csws - did enjoy reading your live birth thread.

alls well here. 3 to 4hr feeds, is incredibly content even with dd2 pulling and pushing him all the time. we're struggling with the sibling jealous at the moment. DH back to work tomorrow - am hoping he won't be working late.

Congratulations tooshy and pistachio!! Fantastic that you both got your home births.

ajm doesn't seem to be around. Have I missed something or do you think she's in labour?

star6 · 13/10/2008 06:09

oh congrats tooshy and pistachio... wow pistachio that all happened really quickly. Well done delivering 10 lbs with no pain relief. I had 5lbs to push out and was begging for pain relief from early ctx! . well done to you!
tooshy what a fantastic story!!
ajm must be in labour!! either that or her internet connection is down.
Im bf at the moment... still hurts a bit.
BF is getting better, but still not perfect by any means (couldnt do it in public still without people wondering what on earth i'm doing to my baby - still cant sit in comf position).
He fed twice on each breast last night (alternating) from 7pm to 9pm .... i was exhausted!!! I thought he might never get full!

star6 · 13/10/2008 06:10

mum2jr did you last through the party?

mum2jakeyroo · 13/10/2008 07:03

I did thankyou star. Started with contractions every 10 mins at about 7pm then had a bath but by 10 everything had slowed right down. Good job as ds2 has been up all night with ear ache. He has just settled at 5am and contractions have just started again.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/10/2008 07:43

at 10lbs 2oz pistachio.
Congratulations to you and usuallytooshy.

I did my birth announcement last night btw, if anyone wants to read it. Here. All the details in one post instead of wading through the 400 or so on the other thread!

Right, better go start another thread if no-one's done it already, as looks like we might have some more births to chat about today!
