at bethoo - just remember bfing is no contraceptive - my periods returned just 8 weeks after giving birth despite bfing day and night every 2/3 hourly!

bethoo · 08/10/2008 14:56

minor graze so no stitches
using condoms since new partner, told him he has to get tested for everything before not using anything.

star6 · 08/10/2008 14:56

how log do you bleed after birth? 6 days now... still bleeding bright red. myjob how did you get bf to stop being sore?

pepperrabbit · 08/10/2008 14:57

bethoo you are a brave lady! with remarkable powers of recovery!!!!
hasnava I feel exactly the same - sorry if TMI but just kind of generally soggy getting through lots of pantyliners - definitely just discharge not wee/waters. Have M/W appt tomorrow so may ask her.

myjeansaretootight · 08/10/2008 15:56

Hello ladies - I am a friend of Hedgepig who has asked me to post that she has a gorgeous new arrival, little Oliver. He arrived Sunday at 10.20am weighing in at 6lb 3oz.
She is still in hospital but both are well and will fill you in with all the details when she's home.

loulou33 · 08/10/2008 15:57

at bethoo - have only just stopped bleeding enough to even contemplate letting dh near me!! Then agasin, we've been together for 13 years whereas your relationship is all shiny and new and exciting (loulou sighs with nostalgia)

Star - i bled until this week (4 weeks on) common for it to be bright red for at least 2 weeks and then can come and go for another two or so - varies from person to person. Keeping going with the bf - it does hurt a bit to start with until you feel the milk let down and then it should stop - if it still hurts, speak to mw. Have you got nipple cream?? - i find kamillosan the best. Nipples get sore when baby feeds a lot (remember there's a growth spurt at 3 weeks old coming up) my nips were dead sore after Joe's marathon feed on saturday but kamillosan has sorted it out.

joe has out on 14ozs this wee so it was a growth spurt after all. He's doing well and sleepong well at night, only waking twice for feeds, so sleep not too bad.

Well done ronshar and all the other new babies. Any news on CSWS???

pepperrabbit · 08/10/2008 16:12

loulou CSWS has a thread running re her on- going induction! She's awaiting an artificial rupture for her waters as it all going veeerrrryyyy slooooowly
If I could do links competently I would - it's under "childbirth" ...

perkypopsy · 08/10/2008 16:21

Hi everyone - just been for a looooooong walk - back in time to catch up on CSWS thread - is so exciting...will be me next week if I hold out that long

Hope everyone is enjoying the afternoon sunshine - is hard to stay depressedon such a beautiful day

MrsTittleMouse · 08/10/2008 16:46

Count me down as officially popped! I had DD2 on Friday (3rd). Thank heavens she was early, I was so fed up of being pregnant.

hansnava · 08/10/2008 16:47

oh pepperrabbit let me know what she says as my midwife says the next time shes gonna see me is after the baby is born as ive got hospital appointment on 16th.

Lozza70 · 08/10/2008 18:07

Congrats on all the new arrivals. Is it my imagination or do we have loads of boys so far??

Sander is putting on loads of weight and sleeping like an angel at the mo but I expect that all to change with the 3 week growth spurt Fingers crossed he will get back into a groove again once that is over.

Sending positive labour vibes to all

star6 · 08/10/2008 18:10

star it's the hormones. I cried for 2 weeks after Sander was born typically for no reason whatsoever. Getting much better now and managed to get through most of X Factor without crying this week

star6 · 08/10/2008 18:25

oh thank goodness!!! thank you!!!
so good to hear not alone with tears! well... sorry to hear its happening to others.. you know what i mean feeding and typing as well... keeps my mind off sting off nipples

sparklesandnowinefor3weeks · 08/10/2008 18:33

sparklesandnowinefor3weeks · 08/10/2008 18:35

or CSWS......but you know who i mean!!

star6 · 08/10/2008 18:58

bethoo you're brave. I seriously don't think i'll ever do that again. I'm serious. I dont even want toilet tissue there... it's difficult.

Aubergenie · 08/10/2008 19:02

t took me a while to work through the thread but big congratulations on all the new babies!

Star - you're totally not alone with the crying thing. Both me AND dp are like water fountains at the moment! Did anyone else find getting home with their newborn a bit overwhelming?

And I'm finding the breast feeding quite painful too. The health visitor today suggested rubbing a bit of breast milk onto the nipples after feeding as a way of easing some of the soreness. I'm going to start trying that.

rowanmac · 08/10/2008 19:03

star stick with it, I remember being on websites at 3am trying to get help because it was sore, similar to you as DS was small, it was before I discovered Mumsnet. It suddenly got easier at 6 weeks and was a doddle by 8weeks and then we carried on until 11 months. It was as if he grew into it. He was 6lb6 at birth and I went from 36B pre baby to 38C so he was being smothered. Agree kamillosan helped (chamomile based). As for the crying ...well...you know what I'm like now!

BP up again so I'm to phone consultant to get hospital appt again to rediscuss induction. Too weepy this pm to do anything as rational as that so got out in the garden with DS.

ToThrottleABlackBird · 08/10/2008 19:23

Congrats to everyone who has had babies

Im 38+ now and been getting pains on and off all day. MW said I may be on labour and May not be not had a show or anything so really do doubt anything will happen anytime soon.
