Morning ladies.

William and I are in bed having a lazy morning which could stretch to all day.

Star I am now BF number three. I had not forgotten the pain but even so I obviously hadnt remembered just how painful it is. I know that it is not supposed to hurt if you are doing it properly but really I feel like I am having hot needles poked into my nipples. The right one is almost unbearable. I shall persevere because i know that within 2 weeks it will be gone. Unfortunately the only thing to do is feed/express through the pain. Do carry on as you are doing. It sounds like you are a fantastic mum to me. Just the right amount of guilt and worry.

Congratulations to all the new mums. Isnt it fab after waiting for so long.

AJM how are you feeling now? Better? Has the bruising gone yet?

sparklesandnowinefor2weeks · 10/10/2008 10:17

star its normal for breast milk to look like that when its settled in fridge. Sorry to hear your having pain when feeding but it does get easier honest! by this time next week you will be fine, it does hurt when the 'first' milk comes through and then again when it changes to the 'proper' milk

but be careful incase you do have mastitis as you will need to see the docs for anti-biotics but carry on feeding/expressing through it as it will ease off, i had it 5 times with DS3

perkypopsy · 10/10/2008 10:17

Congrats MTW pistachio I too have much more energy now - I sometimes think must be why baby not coming...feel like should be crawling around on all fours by now (40 + 11 today )

Thanks for the tips aubergine am going to get on that ball and DH has promised a curry tonight (inspite of what the midwife said about after effects for them)...

Think am going to be doing a CSWS and having a capricorn baby after all

sparklesandnowinefor2weeks · 10/10/2008 10:20

i was up all night with sickness and diahorrea last night feel awful today

keep hoping its not a bug and that my body is having its...ahem...clear out ready for labour.....

....but its probably a bug!!

(sorry if TMI)

ronshar · 10/10/2008 10:22

SmudgeyDoodle thank you for the stats, saves me doing them later now . You are great!

ronshar will go find your story now.

Am suffering with back ache , just hoovered and have an awful pain in my groin and went really dizzy when walking down the stairs. Lazy day today I think

pepperrabbit · 10/10/2008 10:51

Morning all,

waves at emkay - no babies here yet!
Not sure what to do with myself today, with DS1 I had the chimney repointed on his due date (you have NEVER seeen a builder work so fast didn't even want a cup of tea!!).
And with DS2 he was born yesterday (a 7 day induction so I'm still beating CSWS at the mo )..
Congrats to all the new mummies, I want a baby! Pepper stamps feet in childish manner...

SmudgeyDoodle · 10/10/2008 11:11

Morning everyone. Just checked on CSWS thread and it sounds like things are slowly getting going. I wonder if there will be other babies today I wrote my birth plan yesterday - it consists of about 2 lines! Now trying to sort through crap from our room so we have space to put a cot. Why oh why do we have so much stuff?

sparklesandnowinefor2weeks · 10/10/2008 12:53

check out CSWS's thread now

rowanmac · 10/10/2008 13:05

i had lots of energy yesterday after weeks of feeling like death warmed up as those of you wading through my moans will know. I did hope that might be it as I was making apple crumble and blanching beans and made the first batch of puree in the ice cube tray for next year but no.

I also wondered that as this baby is being awkward it would decide to appear yesterday which would have given me one dob 10/9 and one 9/10 and 20 yrs of confusion. MIL has gone away for weekend so I'm not to have it until sunday afternoon now!

School hols start here today so no nursery for next 2 1/2 weeks. I need DH off on paternity leave next week! (stamps foot in even more childish manner than pepper)

emkay · 10/10/2008 14:20

jenwa · 10/10/2008 16:05

my Mum has taken DD out for afew hours so had a little nap , baby wriggling loads today and hoping she is in a better position now.

I am so at everyones babies arriving but should enjoy this time, just difficult when uncomfy!

Seen sept thread and they have all now had their little ones.

perkypopsy · 10/10/2008 17:47

2nd attempt at sweep but still tighter than a gnats chuff

minipops determined to keep me guessing til last minute bummer!!!

tedmundo · 10/10/2008 19:00

Evening ladies. Well, very weak, irregular contractions now for about 36 hours! Spent the morning in the Day Assessment Unit as bp up again but it does look like this time I will be able to beat them to the induction. Could clearly see the contractions from the trace so felt better that I am not imagining things!

Going to have a bath in a mo to sooth myself a bit as bad nights sleep last night means I am pretty knackered. MW warns me that a slow start doesn't mean a slow progression so I do need to be vigilant with those timings! Pain is fine for the time being - just have to breathe a bit through the contractions and can't walk during them. Fine excuse not to get the dinner tonight.

So - I will keep you posted but lets home my ds has a baby brother or sister by the end of the weekend.

moodywren · 10/10/2008 19:14

Hi all,

Finally have time to make my announcement, Hayden was born Wednesday 8th at 3.01am weighing 6lb 9 1/2oz.

He was born at home as planned which was lovely apart from when we ran out of gas and air at 7cm dilated and I had to cope without it for 20 mins while a midwife went to get more.

He had a true knot in his cord and is the smallest baby I have had so I wonder if the knot affected his growth a bit.

I have been carrying on as normal playschool and school runs taking car for Mot etc but its just starting to hit me now and I feel shattered, the afterpains are really bad this time too, feels like being in labour again.

Off for a bath and some sleep now that most of the kids are in bed.

usuallytooshytochat · 10/10/2008 19:54

congrats to CSWS - finally!

SmudgeyDoodle · 10/10/2008 20:31

Congrats to CSWS and to Moodywren. Sounds like you're being a wonderwoman Moodywren - don't forget to take it a bit easy. Tedmundo I hope things progress well and Perkypopsy you really need to get to the front of the labour queue - use your elbows and don't let anyone else push ahead!!

MoonlightMcKenzie · 10/10/2008 20:39

Ohhhh, - I wanna be on this thread.

It's soooo exciting (not that I'd give my 4 week old up)!

Good luck ladies-in-waiting

MoonlightMcKenzie · 10/10/2008 20:40

jenwa · 10/10/2008 21:10
