oh, lol, I was in the middle of sorting out the stork thing earlier when my HV decided to pay an impromptu visit with virgil's red book.
An, oh the shame . At the time I had the pooter open and was on the phone to DH, ignoring DD who had one leg on and the other off the windowsill, trying to hang on for dear life as DS was trying to prise her fingers off the new curtains. Not only that there was the usual day's worth of detritus scattered all over the floors (I usually wait till DCs in bed before clearing it all away). she dismissed all this with a wave of the hand and was really nice but I feel like a very unfit mother. And of course as we were chatting, DD who was bodding about, came through from the kitchen with a ramekin of jam that had been our continental breakfast and was still on the table and was tipping it in her mouth....then she brought a plate with some soggy croissant on it and offered it to HV. Oh, the shame, the shame the shame . She even had the gall to ask me how I was getting on with DH being away in the week. All I could do was just wave my hand over the house as a whole.
Ah well, at least I'll have given the HV team something to laugh about over their tea break tomorrow
