that's what I thought hana shall do it now

I can't believe Gaviscon a.ka. minty sperm (who was it that coined that?!) has made a re-appearance on the thread! YUUCK!!!

cricri · 01/10/2008 17:49

Dozy I texted Obs last night just to say hi and check she was OK as I knew she wouldn't see any message I posted on the thread. She said she was doing OK - on labour ward due to there being no beds elsewhere. Texted a bit earlier to tell her about the good wishes everybody had sent but haven't heard back... Hope she's OK. She sounded pleased to get my text so I'm sure she'd love to hear from you
MM Good news about your scan. Not surprised you're worn out carrying those two around!

LadyBuzz · 01/10/2008 17:52

Hana I drink it from the bottle too
Dozy that is a lovely idea especially if she is a bit down.
Merry glad the scan went well - you really don't have long to go now until you get to your own target do you!

MerryMarigold · 01/10/2008 18:12

If you text obs, please tell her I am thinking of her, and miss her...Thanks.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/10/2008 18:24

Can I ask everyone to check the stork thread and their emails please. I have solved Betti's mystery I think but need a couple of you to help me out!

Dozymare · 01/10/2008 19:27

oh, got a text from obs she is ok and said she hasn't got predictive text but she had sent a long message to cricri...she can't make our Londonladieswhotea now...... she is such good fun, very disappointing...we shall have to organise a Londonladieswotdoteawithbabypukeonshoulder instead

ruthosaurus · 01/10/2008 19:29

Ladybuzz, you had me worried for a mo' (I thought you meant was I sitting on a cannon right now) but then I remembered what my photo was. Yes I am indeed sitting on a cannon in that picture - my, it was a whopper.

Yay Misdee!

Good news on scan, MM and seriously, how the heck are you managing with 2 babies in there? I'm exhausted with just this one. Today I have put the drying up away, made myself lunch, done some crochet and been into town for a haircut and I am shattered. I am trying to get the energy up to make an omelette and failing. Plus I don't want to drive again - it was just too hard.

Hi to Obs - have forgotten who is texting due to brain, but send love .

Dozy - minty sperm? If sperm tasted even half as good as Gaviscon...gak. Good description, tho'. Even slugged straight back from the bottle it has a certain gooey resonance.

Hi ladies, just a quick one as I am tired and emotional / pissed off

Sorry to hear hospitalised. Come back soon. hugs X

Sorry to hear about bleeding missygoo, look afterself and get seen by M/W.

Do you feel refreshed after haircut Saurus? Mine needs cutting as it seems to grow so fast at the minute.

Glad to see few of you had good scan results and been given the ok for homebirths.

Misdee good luck with the move, gosh you are brave doing it so soon.

Sorry to anyone I have missed. X

barbareebaa · 01/10/2008 20:13

Hi there!

Love your pics choco! Lacks thanks for the link to the government website - will check that out in a mo!

chocolategal Glad you were able to leave work earlier. I'm feeling too much of a chicken to say anything!! i suspect they would let me go but I don't want them to be annoyed. I didn't expect that I would feel this tired!

Rutho was it you who was thinking about mumsnet t-shirts? Fab idea!!

I also get the monthly shop delivered - it's definitely worth it I reckon!
Although Sainsburys have £1 puddings in the freezer section at the mo - me and dh bought our own family size pudding each!! I've just eaten a large bowl of profiteroles and he just had a mandarin cheese cake!

cricri · 01/10/2008 20:29

Update from Obs - She thanks everybody for their good wishes. She's still on the labour ward due to lack of beds. No TV and no internet which means the withdrawal symptoms from MN are making her even iller (glad she hasn't lost her sense of humour!) Apparently she had to wait 8 hours for her initial treatment and was finally given IV and fluids at 12.30. Her diabetes went mad due to dehydration but baby is fine. She's been very sick today apparently so has been given a tablet to protect her stomach lining. Doctors don't really know what is wrong. She has trace of e.coli, food poisoning she says and UTI. She says you know what aggravates UTI Her bedroom antics have come back to haunt her - she thought you'd all have a good chuckle at that. Not sure when she'll be out. She asked if everybody was OK. It all sounds horrendous Poor Obs. Real shame she won't be there on Friday but I suppose she's in the right place even though it's not pleasant.
Misdee Pleased you've got the go-ahead for your hb too Good luck for the move on Saturday, hope you've got lots of people helping.
Hope everybody else is OK this evening.

misdee · 01/10/2008 20:44

heelllooooo newcomer MrsRigby!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 01/10/2008 21:37

oh, lol, I was in the middle of sorting out the stork thing earlier when my HV decided to pay an impromptu visit with virgil's red book.

An, oh the shame . At the time I had the pooter open and was on the phone to DH, ignoring DD who had one leg on and the other off the windowsill, trying to hang on for dear life as DS was trying to prise her fingers off the new curtains. Not only that there was the usual day's worth of detritus scattered all over the floors (I usually wait till DCs in bed before clearing it all away). she dismissed all this with a wave of the hand and was really nice but I feel like a very unfit mother. And of course as we were chatting, DD who was bodding about, came through from the kitchen with a ramekin of jam that had been our continental breakfast and was still on the table and was tipping it in her mouth....then she brought a plate with some soggy croissant on it and offered it to HV. Oh, the shame, the shame the shame . She even had the gall to ask me how I was getting on with DH being away in the week. All I could do was just wave my hand over the house as a whole.

Ah well, at least I'll have given the HV team something to laugh about over their tea break tomorrow

hi again MrsRigby

Glad obs is getting treatment and hasn't lost her sense of humour and that baby is allright. Maybe you can take the Londonladieswhattea to the hospital coffee shop . I hope she is home again soon. Is she in King's?

Sorry to hear twin one is breech MM...typical girl, eh? tis her perogative (sp?) to be awkward!

erm,what else is happening?

coolkat...arse to family, I feel the same way about DHs at the minute.

MerryMarigold · 01/10/2008 22:12

Lacks, wow you get a red book BEFORE baby is born. We're lucky to get a visit a couple of weeks later round here! Must move up north!

LackaDAISYcal · 01/10/2008 22:22

they do a pre-baby visit around 6 weeks before to introduce themselves and see how you are doing (and to check on your motherhood credentials......I think I just failed )

ceebee74 · 02/10/2008 09:15

Daisy - wow, you get a pre-visit I am impressed and I wouldn't worry about it! My mum always tells me a story about when we were babies, the midwife came round and the house was a mess (my mum had 3 under 5) - the midwife turned round to her and said 'don't worry, I always get suspicious of tidy houses - it means the parents are not spending enough time with their children' I quite often hold that thought in my mind when I look round the bombsite that is my house!!

We also tidy up after DS is in bed so anyone arriving before 7.30 would be in for a shock

Glad to hear Obs still has her sense of humour! Give her my love whoever can get in contact with her

LackaDAISYcal · 02/10/2008 09:56

morning all.

ceebee, I'll bear that in mind for the future .

but on that note, nesting instinct says go go go!!

oh, and I've had some interesting discharge as well over the last few days, but not much, although there was quite a bit of it last night....I'm hoping it's just things loosening up down there rather than imminent labour, but am trying not to overdo things......although it would fit in with the PILs if I had the baby before they went on holiday .

HAd the best night's sleep in ages as well......and still feel like death warmed up this morning.

MerryMarigold · 02/10/2008 09:58

Family . Specifically the IL's. Actually PIL's are fine but dh's brother and his wife are selfish and stingy (with everyone but themselves) and it drives me bananas. We have paid twice for PIL's to visit England (they not once) and dh's brother was supposed to pay this time round (they were coming for my niece's 1st which coincides nicely with twins birth). But now they have decided tickets are too expensive until next Spring . However, they have somehow managed to go on 3 exotic holidays this year, have a car which cost pushing 50K and live in a huge, immaculately decorated house that is apparently not ideal because it is only semi detached and the garden is too small (despite having a gate straight onto a park). I DESPAIR!

MerryMarigold · 02/10/2008 10:03

oooh lacks, very exciting. No signs here.

ChocO, spreadsheet alert!!!

Let's organise a virtual sweepstake, not for money, just for 'bets' and points. Winner gets to feel super smug. We have to guess the top 10 people to pop. Points increase the closer you get to 10 (as that bit is going to get harder, since we already have a few c-section dates).

ChocOrange05 · 02/10/2008 10:23

Merry - a sweepstake spreadsheet, right up my street! Anyone who wants to be involved e-mail me at daniyadotstewartatyahoodotcodotuk and I will have a think about how it could work!

MerryMarigold · 02/10/2008 11:12

Hey Choco, email is not working...I have checked I did it correctly a few times, but got a failure notice. Are you confusing with work email?

coolkat · 02/10/2008 11:14

How very rude of me, Hello Mrs Digby!

Lacks LOL at your DD offering health visitor soggy croissants, could have been worse could have offered sausage roll and fruit shoot!! Could have started a right old MN debate with that one.

Also did you get my email regarding text buddies, think I sent on monday?

I don't know Merry nothing quite so strange as family! Trouble is I know I am being unreasonable but don't want to back down - What do you think Sister 24 yrs old met boy 3/4 months ago. They are both heavily into the church (each to their own) anyhow turns out sleeping togther and not allowed by the church Sister now pregnant, she is a bright girl but did not use contraception. Sister has being supported by mum and been bailed out numerous times by her dad, our mum, nan etc. So now they have decided to get married in November I just feel really really Pi**ed off. DH got no more holiday and would have to cancel one of the days he has booked in addition to paternity leave. Sister says well come on your own er no, just had a baby etc with how bad my legs have been should imagine they won't just spring back and what about shopping for an outfit etc. Mum knows how upset I am and do you know what she said "but Coolkat she IS pregnant" No shit, I am just bloated and been on crutches for the past god knows how many weeks for the sake of it

Now I know IABU however just feel so cross, I would not ever want anything bad to happen to sister or her baby but she is so selfish and I feel like I have always come 2nd best, despite never needing financial help being happily married etc. Its causing rows between me and DH as he is cross I am upset again by my family. So thinking about just not going....

Feel free to ignore but what do you think?

Really sorryy for me post . X .
