Hi ladies, new thread as we seem to have outgrown the old one!

oh, dear betti! I know there was a bit of rejigging required so it looks like something has gone awry somewhere. I'll have a word with him later and get him to check the mail account.

He was going to delete all the details, but not until after all pressies had arrived so he should still have all the names etc.

Just had a quick scan of the thread....missygoo, please call your MW or the AN ward, if only for some additional reassurance. Hospitals not nice, but if there is a problem then you want to be in the right place. Take care {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

LackaDAISYcal · 01/10/2008 13:45

have you sent your pressie out already Betti?

ceebee74 · 01/10/2008 13:52

Misdee - lol!!

Saurus you have to be invited to join by one of the administrators. Dozy is one and I think Chocorange may be one aswell - but they would need to be able to find you on Facebook first - god this is complicated isn't it??

Missy I would phone the hospital again, but I can completely understand where you are coming from! That is my worst fear I think - being admitted to hospital before the birth and being away from DS even longer than necessary but better to be on the safe side.

Suiledonn I think a few people think I am weird that I have not left DS for the night - but there has just not been any reason to and I don't particularly want to 'create' a reason just for the sake of it. In fact me and DH haven't even been out together at night since he was born 2 years ago - again, just because we weren't particularly big 'going out' people anyway and are quite happy to slob at home or, our favourite thing to do ws go out for meals which we still do but just go out earlier and take DS with us (we have been out seperately just in case you think we are complete saddos with no lives )

Betti · 01/10/2008 13:57

lacks - yes sent in yesterday

LackaDAISYcal · 01/10/2008 14:08

Oh dear....if anyone receives a second stork gift can you hold into it until this is sorted out!

ruthosaurus · 01/10/2008 14:10

Lucky Mr Daisy: don't let me hear you say he's complaining about not getting any action!

Fner fner.

LadyBuzz · 01/10/2008 14:40

Pinklali I have invited you to scrabble!
Saurs email me patriciahepple at btinternet dot com, I will invite you to be my friend firstly then to the group as it is a secret group and doesn't come up in the searches!
Missygoo phone the midwife even just to put your mind at rest!

MrsRigby · 01/10/2008 14:42

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction misdee

Well I'm now 33+5, have REALLY bad heartburn and still haven't done the baby's room.

Got yet another scan on Friday. The midwife keeps saying the baby is measuring big, yet the previous scans have all been okay. She's only saying it because she doesn't want me to have a home birth. I'll win though, I always do.

DH and I are going to our first parent education class tonight, a bit excited, but know it'll be a waste of time. Definately not going to antenatal yoga again though, shanti, shanti, shanti. Oh and don't forget the sonic boom!

Hope everyone else is okay.

StealthPolarBear · 01/10/2008 14:44

If all you had to do was think about it I'd have had triplets by now

AutumnLady · 01/10/2008 14:47

Thanks for the message stealth Missygoo - please phone mw or someone even to put our minds at rest!!

xx

ruthosaurus · 01/10/2008 15:27

Cheers Ladybuzz - an email is on its way...

Hi stealth and cheers, it took ages! (eh?)

Okay, that's it, I'm going to get in the car and get my hair cut. I may even pop in to John Lewis

Missdee, we need recipes for Gaviscon cocktails: it works brilliantly but I need something to hide the taste. Maybe if I shake it with some crushed ice and decant it into a martini glass and garnish it with a twist of lemon peel it will ming less.

Mmmm... cocktails. Can I be one of those '50s mums in a Cath Kidston apron, killer heels and a 5 o'clock gin sling?

[kind answer: no, Saurus, not in those sweatpants, and not until you lose 2 stone]

Hi Autumnlady hope you are feeling well!
Saurus are you sitting on a cannon???

MerryMarigold · 01/10/2008 16:47

Hi. Not caught up with thread yet. Will post first 'cos excited:

  • Got Secret Stork. It's a lovely, really thoughtful gift, THANKYOU SO MUCH SECRET STORK. It was beautifully wrapped and came with a very nice card (exactly my taste!!!). I got a twins 'memory book' to stick pics etc. and 2 very cute bibs (of the 'pull over head' variety I like, I think someone who is already a Mum sent thi but just guessing!). Also, indirectly very helpful because there was a leaflet from TwinsUK in it, and they were advertising a bfing cushion that I have actually already bought from a TAMBA member nearly 2 weeks ago, but haven't received it. I'd forgotten all about it! So reminded me to give that a chase too...
  • Had my last scan today. Babies have moved, but the lower twin is breech (feet down, head up) - awkward girl! - and the boy is head down. I'm still hugely uncomfortable even though they are not transverse anymore. Their weights are on 50th centile, girl is guessed at 5lb 2 and boy is 5lb 5 so I was not far wrong when I said I am carrying 11 lbs!

Well off to catch up on thread...will be back with 'responses'.

chocolategal · 01/10/2008 17:11

hello everyone,
just trying to catch up on todays events!
missygoo i agree with everyone else, just make a phone call and check everything ok.

cricri glad you got the reassurance you wanted and are still on for your homebirth

hope everyone else suffering from aches and pains are resting up a bit

Dozymare · 01/10/2008 17:34

merry how strange, I had a scan today and they estimate that DD is 5lb 3oz....and we are due same day! Your twins are bang on target I presume for twins as my DD is slightly below 50th percentile........have they given you a date yet???

Dozymare · 01/10/2008 17:35

also...general poll - should I text obs to see how she is geting on at hospital? I don't want to pester her as I am sure she is being fully occupied?? what do you think???

MerryMarigold · 01/10/2008 17:38

OK, I have caught up now. Posted on SS thread! That'll learn me for not reading thread FIRST! Yes, Lacks, it was a brilliant idea, and so heartwarming to read the messages. Made my day (apart from the good scan).

Saurus, I had haircut today too. I hope your trip works out fine. Missygoo, I would go back in hospital, I don't trust doctors, maybe they made mistake first time.

Dozy, great news about 'normal' baby. I so want small babies this time, but I guess it depends when they come, really wanted 6lbers!

Lacks, I have a poor ds with a cold too. He does make a meal of it (like father like son) and is full of tears, wants to be 'carried' (yeah, right) and was up half of last night (bouncing round bed, shouting, singing in a NOT very ill way). He's now giggling to Peppa Pig though, so I guess he is not too bad .
