Hi ladies, new thread as we seem to have outgrown the old one!

gOOD MORNING ALL!

lacks well done on organising the secret stork, it is a very lovely idea and have updated the thread accordingly. Very chuffed with my secret stork!!

Love all you spreadsheet queens!!!

chocorange your bump has made me very as so tight and no flabby bits - just you wait until your on your 3rd DC, it all changes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though I haven't put as much weight on as with DS1 and DS2 (although was carrying an extra 2 stone to start with ) and this has been my best pregnancy by far, I have the startings i believe of a varicose vein on my leg - only appears if I have been exerting myself (impossible not to with 2 active DS's) I just wondered if anyone else had any experience of this????

DS's calling - off to make the porridge!

Good morning all

Am having a lazy morning as have a MW appointment at 11.00am and am not bothering to go to work first!

Pinky if it isn't too much trouble for you to list what is in your hospital bag, then that would be great

Missy - sorry you ended up in hospital but glad everything seems to be ok. And you must feel so much better knowing DD was ok - that is what I am dreading tbh having never spent a night away from DS!

Hi to everyone else

suiledonn · 01/10/2008 09:35

Good morning everyone.
Missygoo glad to hear everything is ok after your scare.

I must say I am surprised at the number of you who, like me, have rarely if ever spent any nights away from their DC. My friends think I am mad not to take advantage of MIL being just around the corner so that DH and I could go away without dd. They all leave their dc fairly regularly for weekends away etc. I feel more normal now

toolly · 01/10/2008 10:10

Just a very quick note ( I have left a longer one on the secret stork thread) to say thank you to my secret stork. Parcel arrived today. Thanks. Love it!

Pinkali37 · 01/10/2008 10:30

Morning All,

Sorry people have been feeling ill and sorry Suildonn for the stupid instructor you had!!! Obviously can't see talent when it's straight in front of his face!

Well last night I had the John Travoltas of baby's in side me. It was definitely dancing to night fever, one minute of the left then the right.

I had an awful nights sleep. Must have been to the loo approx 15 times thoughout the night! FEEL TERRIBLE THIS MORNING.

Missi- sorry to hear about your stay in hospital and hope you are feeling better. Good news to hear the baby is ok though

Choco Good bump picture!! I am going to have to take mine now and also try and get some better pictures of nursery to download.

Hey ladies,

Missygoo - SNAP! Lots of hugs and hope you're taking it easy with lots of feet-up-no-heavy-lifting going on chez goo.

Suiledonn, brave lady even thinking about taking your driving test. I am getting my hair cut (stops me looking like Professor Snape) this afternoon and I'm terrified about driving the 10 minutes into town - and I've been driving for 2 years or so. Good on you for having a go. I also know what you mean about "OMG I think this baby's going to come early" feeling - I am convinced I won't make it past the next month.

Vbab flapjack is the perfect food - incredibly fatty and sugary but virtuous because it has oats, which we are told are a superfood and which also Keep You Regular.

Ceebee you are welcome to my spreadsheet (please bear in mind I am a first-timer but it is the condensed wisdom of Mumsnet that I used to compile it) - how do I send it to you? It isn't in colour, although it is in Excel.

Obs, big hugs and hope you're okay. If you've shelled out for the Patientline ripoff thing and you're feeling up to it you might be able to stay in touch, otherwise
BOY have you got some catching up to do. Hope that drip is doing its magic and they've got the throwing up under control [[hugs]]

I threw up the other day simply because baby saurus kicked me incredibly hard in the stomach just after a meal and that was bad enough so massive sympathy for everyone still being sick - I can't imagine how bad this must be.

DH has done something to the computer and now I can't listen to the radio on it. Bollocks. I can just hear the radio from the kitchen where there's a weird discussion about late 18thC man-midwives going on. Probably just as well I can't hear it, tbh.

Braxton Hicks - I asked the mw at antenatal last night if there was anything I can do to mitigate them and she said no, I just seem to have them pretty badly. Considering at this point my bump looked like a perfect sphere, this was a bit of an understatement. She did say that at least I'll have ace uterine muscle tone when it comes to the crunch (bad choice of words really...). Ho hum.

morning all...feeling a bit more human this morning, inspite of the lack of sleep (I've accepted that this is my lot for at least the next six months), but DD is miserable in that "I want a cuddle.....no, let me down" way that poorly children do so well. I have out her back to bed but she isn't playing the game. I think some calpol may be in order soon.

I have just been reading the stork thread and it's warming the cockles of my heart. The pressies all sound gorgeous and incredibly well thought out....lovely

Talked to my doula this morning and I'm meeting her on Friday ahead of my consultant's appointment on Monday to iron out my birth plan and what I will/won't accept regarding monitoring/induction etc. She knows my consultant though and says she is very amenable to VBAC. She told me to insist on speaking to her on Monday rather than just the registrar. I have all weekend to practice being strong willed!

Right, DD not settling; gotta go and sort her out

tostaky · 01/10/2008 11:02

Hi there, sorry not posting much...
but I have a question... baby is very active at night... does it mean that when he comes out he will sleep mostly during the day and not settle at night?

Apart from that... 35 weeks today and i dont want this baby out too early, i want to enjoy my 2 weeks of mat leave before he comes!! Off to my breastfeeding classe this afternoon...

hanaflower - i think you'll find prams at the NCT sales. Also try freecycle as i have seen a couple of prams/push chairs given away recently.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/10/2008 11:08

generally whatever pattern they follow in the womb will continue when they are first out tostaky...sorry if that isn't what you wanted to hear, but it usually settles into some semblance of routine pretty quickly though

they tend to go on three hour cycles, but do sleep a lot, so hopefully you won;t be bothered too much at night and the only reason you are noticing it now is it's because you are inactive. I always find that when I'm bodding about in the day virgil is sleeping and he starts as soon as I relax.

aaaargh grumpy babies. Help!

ruthosaurus · 01/10/2008 11:15

I've just had my first Tesco Online delivery - no more lugging washing powder up the front steps for me! Mind you, the delivery bloke was kind of reluctant to bring stuff into the house - I'm sure it's not that untidy in here - and kept handing me heavy things and saying "you alright with that one, love?".

But how convenient is that? Lovely.

Daisy will be sending you 'strong-willed' vibes on Monday but great that the consultant is pro-VBAC.

Saurus are you on our Facebook group?? If so, I can e-mail you my private e-mail via that - if not, let me know and I will post it on here - your spreadsheet sounds fab!

Tostasky I echo what Daisy has said (although it has to be said it is only from my one experience of DS) that he seemed to repeat his sleeping pattern in the womb as out of it - fortunately this was to sleep very well at night . When I was pg with him, I rarely remember feeling him once I was in bed or during the night and he did carry on that way.

MW appointment was fine - all is ok, baby is head down, back to my left as I look at my bump and one foot is stuck right out on my right hand side (must have quite long legs I guess ).

Saurus forgot to ask MW about my very tight bump but it seems as if it is 'just one of those things' (hopefully).

suiledonn · 01/10/2008 11:34

A question for you ladies. It is my notes to review for induction at 38 weeks. My next ante natal clinic will be when I am over 37 weeks. I was discussing this with my sister last night and wondering if dh needs to take the day off to come with me. My sister is adamant that they will just discuss it with me at that stage and that is what they mean by review. I think though that they might examine me to see if I am favourable for induction. I am very nervous about this as I feel it was the internal exam last time that really caused my labour to speed up. Any ideas who is right?

missygoo · 01/10/2008 12:00

ruth Snap! sorry, have you been in hospital too?

Yikes, woke up at 8 am this morn for a pee and found fresh blood in the bowl and on the tissue. Put on a pad and went back to bed. It has not got worse.
Don't know what to do. REALLy really do not want to go bck to hospital. Who asked if they had a reason for bleeding? I can't remember nw. The answer is no, they have no real reason for it.
Baby is moving well, sometimes getting tightenings but been getting them since 18 weeks. Don't feel anything is immenent but also don't want to be silly.
DH growled at me for being irresposible.

Headcold is making me feel low! I can't breath!! and it hurts to swallow.
Oh woe is me!!
Baby does seem heavy though but has been for a few days now. I also know where he is and am fairly certain he is not engaged or the likes.
I think I am going to get on with my day and see how things progress.
What do you think?
Am I being irresponsible??

missygoo · 01/10/2008 12:02

Suiledon I am sure they would give DH enough time to get there even if they did decide that induction had to begin that day.
I don't think I agree that an internal would get things going though. But I am no expert.

I keep trying to blame a headcold and being sick on bleeding from below, which is clearly nonsense!

suiledonn · 01/10/2008 12:18

Thanks missygoo. I know I am totally being irrational about the internal. When I had dd I went to the hospital with very managable contractions, had the internal and was told I was 2cm dilated and to expect labour to progress into the next day. Within less than an hour I was fully dilated and ready to push and dd was born shortly afterwards. For some reason I can't get it out of my head that the internal caused everything to speed up so I am nervous now that even if I am not in labour when they examine me it could get everything going.

Pinkali37 · 01/10/2008 12:23

Sauraus Ditto, my delivery has just been from Tesco. Very handy and some how I seem to spend less. My delivery man carried boxes straight into kitchen and onto table for me to empty... although I think i'm missing my fizzy water, must go and check.

We had a new fridge freezer delivered the other week, one of those big american jobbies, however delivery people wouldn't carry it into the house because of health and safety!! They would only have to go up 2 small steps into the kitchen but instead put it in the garage. Same thing happened to my sister in Brighton, Currys AGAIN delivering smaller fridge but she lives in a basement flat and they left it at the top of the stairs due to health and safety. There was my sister holding onto her new born baby! Luckily a couple of scaffolders near by came to her rescue and carried it in for her, but what a load of ...

Dozymare · 01/10/2008 13:07

hello all - haven't had a chance to read through the thread yet but jsut wanted to let you know that I am back from the hospital and latest scan show that DD is average!! This was a growth scan as both DS's were mahooosive......I have posted a picture onto facebook which show's she is very very pouty (and a big nose!) BUT please don't comment on it as my RL friends don't know I am having a girl!!!! So no comments like "Oh just Angelina Jolie's lips" GIVING THE GAME AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

(Not that I am saying any of you would, but I got a bit panicy about that!!)

Off to catch up now

DM xxx

MonkeyMargot · 01/10/2008 13:10

missygoo Sorry to hear about your bleeding. Maybe you should call the MW just in case?
Thanks you sooo much Secret Stork! Am thrilled with my very well thought out gifts! Will post seperately on other thread.
Tostaky Snap - I am also 35 weeks today - hurrah! Have also got my breastfeeding class tonight.
Ooh - got a John Lewis delivery earlier with all sorts of baby stuff, Moses basket, sheets etc. Exciting!!
Am going into an eBay Selling frenzy. Sold my first item on Sunday - it was v.exciting! Have since posted loads of other tat stuff, so shall wait and see!

misdee · 01/10/2008 13:11

pinky, so can i leave a comment saying 'is that a penis i spot' instead then?

ruthosaurus · 01/10/2008 13:12

Missygoo - is there any way a community midwife could come out to you? I totally understand why you don't want to go back in but you don't want to get stressed by not knowing what's going on! Big hugs.

Suiledonn, as my ante-natal class mw said last night, they can't do anything to you that you don't consent to! But if you are v nervous I would take DH in with you anyway. Mine is getting used to being dragged everywhere... Okay, so if nothing happens you might feel a bit of a tit, but that's better than not having him there if anything does kick off. Hope all works out for you.

Ceebee, what is Facebook group called? I will try and join and then email my saddo spreadsheet from there. Plus, I'm getting bored being off work this week and might try my hand at this scrabble lark. Just booking myself in for an ass-kicking, I can tell...

Big wuss time - I am dead scared about going into town on my own this afternoon to get my haircut even though it's a 10 minute drive and I can park quite close. I think it's cos I haven't been out on my own since Friday and the BH contractions really hurt now and are making me feel quite sick if I do anything physical like emptying the bin or climbing upstairs. Meep. I hae arranged with DH that if I go back into work next week I will work some days from home and he will drive me there and back the other days, which is amazing of him as it's an extra hour onto his commute every day. He's okay really .

Bizarre related question My hairdressers has vibrating chairs for the hairwashing bit of the haircut - do we think this is a bad idea for a woman in the later stages of pregnancy?

Dozymare · 01/10/2008 13:13

Missdee love it!!

Missygoo I would mention to your Obs/MW thaty you are bleeding - however irrelevant it may seem, it should be flagged up - do you have a low lying placenta???

cricri · 01/10/2008 13:29

Just catching up after a couple of days...
Missygoo Sorry to hear about your hospital stay and the latest bleeding. As others have suggested I would contact MW and see what she says. Hope everything is OK. Sorry to hear about your head cold too - I woke up with a sore throat and have been sneezing and spluttering all morning. Not good
Obs Sorry to hear about you being admitted to hospital. Not sure if you've got internet access there but just to let you know that we're thinking of you.
Daisy Pleased you're feeling better and hope DD gets better soon. Thanks ever so much for organising the secret stork by the way (and thanks also your DH!), it's been lovely reading about all the parcels arriving. Mine arrived this morning too I've posted separately on the other thread for my secret stork.
DM Good news that DD is of normal size!
Had mw appt just now at home and I have the all clear for a HB, hurrah! Just need to make it to 37 weeks now - 10 days to go. I'll be ordering my pool later today. All is well, baby is 3/5 engaged so on her way (yikes!) Scan on Monday for renal dilation was OK, going for another one in 3 weeks and then baby will be scanned post-birth. Consultant was reassuring and said dilation could yet resolve itself so fingers crossed.
Hope everybody else is OK despite all the pg niggles and lack of sleep.

Betti · 01/10/2008 13:36

Lacks have just emailed your DH as I noticed that the person who I was sending my secret stork to has already received a gift and it wasn't the one I sent!! Hope it doens't mean someone will miss out. Could you ask him to check for me please.

Thanks
